@Jamal As far as I can see, he has posted 1 question with a score of 4.
I'm tempted though...
It's probably a 5/-1 division, according to his score.

@Mast The one he mentioned was already deleted. It was very off-topic and already had one close vote.

@Jamal Well, that makes it totally his fault. Not the community's.

Once again, you cannot expect someone with an association bonus to even take the time to read another site's Help Center.

@QPaysTaxes I think this was my first question:

Q: VHDL mux in need of generics

MastI've built a multiplexer which takes 2 inputs: one array of std_logic_vector and one std_logic_vector to select the correct array. It should be written more generic, but I'm not sure how. The length of SEL grows if the length of X grows (4-bit if 16 inputs, 6-bit if 64, etc.). I'm currently using...

My second CR question was off-topic, but my first was not. I don't even remember when I first read the help center.

@QPaysTaxes I know where your bed sleeps.
@Jamal You turned out quite allright.
@QPaysTaxes And where your house lives.

@Mast But I know where you house lives!
Hah, the good old Dutch jokes

@skiwi Ninja'd!

Community challenge was my first question.... hmmm... most of my questions have been community related in some way.

8:21 PM
@Mast I know. :-) I was lucky to first be approached by Winston Ewert (my predecessor) when he was still a mod.

@QPaysTaxes I still know.
@Jamal Remind me to thank him if he ever comes back.

@QPaysTaxes Oh, goody. Random backticks. I'll see what I can do.

@Mast He probably still lurks every now and then, but I don't think he has even been in this room.

I hoped as much ;-)

A: July 2015 Community Challenge

rolfl Resubmit May's runner-up Resubmit June's runner-up StackSTV Stack Exchange uses an STV-based system for holding elections. They use the software OpenSTV to host it. That software is no longer being maintained, and the system is being rebranded as OpaVote, and will no longer be free. ...

@Jamal His newest answer is from September.
@rolfl Already? It isn't even half June.

Q: Javascript static and prototype mocking

TumetsuI'm writing unit-tests for my Node.js/Express application with REST endpoints which retrieve stuff via Mongoose from db. Since I'm testing only route functions I want to mock Mongoose by providing custom request and response functions etc. I also had to mock my Person mongoose schema module with ...

Hello

@QPaysTaxes another projeteuler challenge
the relevant thing , people want their code boosted not reviewed

Finding ways to boost code is reviewing code.

@QPaysTaxes because iv already completed that P-Euler challenge?
lol why .

Because of that little "twang" sound

i broke new editing score
sound ? oh , i dont have sound in my computer

it keeps u ear safe

ok shut up now im done with u , who told u to turn ur headphone on

That's enough, you two.

im leavin

@QPaysTaxes Whenever it happens, feel free to ping a room owner or frequent moderator. Sometimes I do have the sound on in here.

I know, but you shouldn't make it worse by getting aggressive as well. If he does continue, then a suspension can be given.

@QPaysTaxes Room owners and moderators can kick people. It is our responsibility to get involved.

Yes. Either automatic ones by offensive chat flags or manual ones by moderators on any site.

@Jamal this isn't the first time that users has been troublesome as far as I know...
@QPaysTaxes The kick-mute feature is perfectly capable of doing that as well.

Hello. I'm baxk

@QPaysTaxes I do have to agree with @Jamal also though,

Now you know.
I see at least two messages that are easily flaggable, one by Agawa and one by you.

Do keep this in mind: if you find a troublesome message and are able to ping any mod who has been around recently, always do so instead of flagging the message. No need to attract other site mods unless it's something drastic.

@QPaysTaxes exactly the one

unfortunately, I think it's only a matter of time
@QPaysTaxes So? It's still flaggable.

Q: A Mess of Missions

bazolaI've mostly completed the prototype for my city building simulation, and now I have added the meta-game mission system to the game. You see these mission systems in a great many games these days. The basic idea is that the player is assigned a mission at the start of the game, such as Build 50 I...

@QPaysTaxes oh come on
I don't see how your sed is relevant though
@QPaysTaxes that's implied

@QPaysTaxes O HAI, HOW CAN AI HALP U?
OK, I'd like though if you could give me something more concrete to work with?
OK
Yeah it is
What you would probably want to do is make a list of keywords to look for in titles, which you could easily do in Excel, then just use formulas to wrap SQL code around it (save yourself a lot of typing)
Ah right
@QPaysTaxes ^^
Nice little trick you learn ;)
TTGH, talk more in a bit
Hmm, wait a minute. That's not working right

Guys, either I am still sleep or my English isn't enough to understand this. What do you think?
This is from the help to setup this IAR IDE
What do you think is the difference between these two? that I pointed out
To remind you, it's nothing about auto indenting as it has it's own setting which I marked on the right side
@Phrancis Yelp :D

SQL can be quite wonky at times

@Mehrad When it encounters a tab in a file, how does it represent it (tab size) when you type an indent (tab maybe) how much to add

Something tells me Tab Size is relevant if I go with Insert Tab and Indent Size is, when I go with Indent with spaces @rolfl
All the IDEs I have seen so far have one setting for the tab size and the number you put in basically means how many spaces will shape a tab

It's possible to implement the strategy pattern using an enum. One example is in this thread. — Mick Mnemonic 22 secs ago

Q: EncodingTranslatorStream - A stream object that translates character encoding

JeremyThis class is a stream designed to perform character encoding translation. So you instantiate it, pass an input stream, and specify the input encoding and desired output encoding, so that when you read from this stream, is will translate the source data from one encoding type to another. I'm in...

@QPaysTaxes that should be it. I agree

Hey, @all, in a question like this can the @author be removed? There's barely any changes and it seems kinda rude
@QPaysTaxes The @author has only 29 rep and his answer doesn't even work according to OP, so, there's that

Q: Functional way of doing some operations on an array in scala

DanielI have a java program which does something like the following: int nvars = 10; long vars[] = new long[nvars]; for(int i = 0; i < nvars; i++) { vars[i] = someFunction(i); anotherFunction(vars[i]); } I am converting it into scala code: val nvars: Int = 2 val vars: Array[Long] = ...

@Quill There might not be much point in having adding it, but is there any point in removing it?

Kinda like that, just seems a bit rude

I would recommend a comment before an edit.

@SimonAndréForsberg I only edited the code snippets

11:28 PM
Feels pointless to agitate users

@QPaysTaxes You stole @authorship from me

Besides, I doubt there are legal implications for that code snippet anyway

@QPaysTaxes Yes, you can. (but you should try not to) You should know that by now.
@JeroenVannevel Agreed.
It's quite interesting that he chose to do his post Community Wiki, and yet left an @author in his post.

@SimonAndréForsberg Yeah, it's barely big enough for something like that

All his answers include an "@author" mention
If you feel it warrants a discussion, you should make a post on meta

11:31 PM
Okay

though I don't think this is important enough to enforce. It would be yet another silly rule to enforce, in my opinion
An algorithm can be changed by only 1 character and the impact of it can be so important that it is considered an entirely different program in the eyes of the law
You can't say what is worthy of claiming ownership or not, that's what big legal battles are for

lol, always the legal stuff with you @QPaysTaxes

Yes, and that's why the law stipulates that it should be a sizeable difference. If we go to court, a judge will tell you that
Says who?
What if I tell you those four characters changed the speed of the parsing by 5 million percent?
Or another angle: what if the code in question is so incredibly common that this is a typical problem with a typical solution
The answerer could only reasonably arrive to this code as a solution
That means he arrived at his code without influence from the code in question
Again, legal for the law
No, he's not

@QPaysTaxes Question works, but the answer in question doesn't work

@QPaysTaxes Right. I looked at US, Dutch, Belgian and South Korean law on copyright for a school paper last year
Oh no. It was UK, US, Belgium, The Netherlands, China and Taiwan
It's still a little far

Q: Using author comments in posts

QuillSometimes, questions with authoring comments surface, and whilst changes can greatly affect the difference in code, is an author comment really warranted in answer? StackExchange's attribution required lists four things required to be done when republishing content: Visually indicate that...

A: Using author comments in posts

rolflNo, it is not required, but, is it a problem? No, it's not a problem either. The author is possibly auto-inserted by an IDE or something. There's nothing wrong with that, but, again, there's no reason to remove it. Whether there is attribution of authorship in an answer or not is independent of...

Thanks @rolfl

I feel like pimping this - lot of effort, and question has low views... and I am close-ish to cap, which would be @148

Clever clever, see that ^^ @nhgrif?

@Quill A close approximation, but you can now do it in your profile.

A: Search string for a substring - indexOf

Ethan Bierlein I don't like the variable names needle and haystack. I'd would use list and item. This will make it a little clearer. Put braces around your if statements. Even if you're only running one statement, you should always put braces around them. Read this. Read this as well too. This Apple bug happen...
