9:00 PM
@Duga is very advanced, now.

I'm being watched...
2

By the FBI.

@Marc-Andre @Duga scans and posts all comments that contains "code review" or "codereview".

Or would it be the French version?

@Duga is Swedish!

9:01 PM
@Duga hey, that's new?!

Ah, I was unaware of the existence of CodeReview. You mean codereview.stackexchange.com, right? — Bryan 48 secs ago

@SimonAndréForsberg Not according to Google Translate... What does Duga mean again?

@SimonAndréForsberg Then it may have missed it I don't know, it was 3 hours ago... (I didn't know @Duga was that dedicated to Code Review :D)

@RubberDuck I will edit the profile for @Duga and write that...
@Duga looks like it is on-topic for CR to me

Me too.

9:04 PM
@RubberDuck (I meant CR)

Yes. So did I! lol

Me too.

So how many people have flagged it?

@Marc-Andre yeah, I think @Duga currently has some blind periods, as it has done one request every 4-6 minutes or so now.

Shall we just leave it be, or invite them over?
Already over here.

9:06 PM
@RubberDuck I've already flagged for one migration, which you VTC'd, so I will restrict myself on that.

User already cross-posted.
Just reviewed it in the queue.

@SimonAndréForsberg lol. Looks unnecessary.

I'm tempted to comment : We knew that you would cross-post, welcome to Code Review (no we are not stalking you)

Q: Generic queries and handlers without reflection

BryanI'm trying to implement generic queries and handlers so that I can make requests with simple syntax, like this: var query = new HelloQuery("hi"); var result = processor.Process(query); This post explains a brilliant technique for accomplishing this, but it uses reflection and dynamic to resolv...

I went ahead and asked there, if anyone fancies answering there. — Bryan 43 secs ago

9:09 PM
Who dared to post my question here?
:)
At least it has a link back here.

Okay. Query tuned and everything is working again. Now I just pray I'm coming out with the same number of records. laughs... yeah right...
2

@RubberDuck Like that ever happens lol.

@Phrancis Yeah. I know... Maybe I'll get lucky an act of god.

If I accept my answer to one of my questions, do I get 17 reputations points?
Or can I even accept my own answer?

Yes you can accept your own answer, but you don't get rep for it

9:21 PM
Thanks.

From here : http://meta.stackexchange.com/a/5235
> your own answer: There is no reputation awarded and the answer does not float to the top of the list. This can be done no earlier than 48 hours after the question is asked.

Q: Formatting database results to be consumed as multiple tables by the view

David HamiltonIn the code below, $rows is the result of database query. In the view that consumes this, I need to break the results into a separate table for each vendor. The below creates a structure that allows this in the template, but it seems like a clunky way of doing it. Advice on how to improve it? ...

Q: Slicing and dicing images for Google Play

janosMaking an Android app involves making a lot of images of various sizes: The app's launcher icon, in high/low/medium resolution Buttons, menu buttons, if any, in high/low/medium resolution Images for listing on Google Play: main icon, feature graphics To simplify this, I use high-resolution so...

10:04 PM
I upset someone....

Oh dear.

check out the comments --> stackoverflow.com/a/28285287/1214743 and the OP's Selfie

@Malachi I played with Arduino once. Fun thing. Too bad you have to buy so much hardware though.

@SimonAndréForsberg yeah but most of the stuff you have to buy is small pieces of electronics that you can find in a bargain bin...right?
that is the part that sucks, most of the time you have to buy like 50 of a specific piece just because you need one

10:09 PM
@Malachi I don't think it is that cheap. I forgot the exact prize though.
A friend of mine has some Arduino components.
Perhaps I should visit him more often and play with it.
@rolfl community seems to have VTC'd this question: codereview.stackexchange.com/questions/79345/… *ashamed*

Meh, I'm just pleased it was you, and not me ;-)

lol
I guess we're even now. You miscalculated before, and I flag wrong things for migration...

Migrations and chat are the two hardest things to get straight on SE
(as a moderator).

yeah, I remember you saying that migrations are messy business
wwhat's so hard about chat I don't understand though

We have a deal going with the SO mods.
If a question is flagged for migration to CR by a high-rep CR user, it's "just done".
bluefeet is our 'point-of-contact' for most migrations.
So, when a flagged question goes through the queue, and they see: Oh, Simon has XK rep, no problem, hit the migrate button.

10:16 PM
Sorry, my mistake. (I am ashamed right now). I totally misunderstood the question. The question is about how to perform how to do it betwween different files, wwhich is a functionality that does not currently exist. Therefore, this does not belong on Code Review. — Simon André Forsberg 1 min ago

wwhich.

yeah, I think that is a good deal. High-rep users just need to understand questions better, I guess....

There's no need for that (the apology), people are expected to be imperfect.
The SO mods are all looking to streamline the process in different ways.

There is need for the apology, I need to test a neww version of @Duga.

For the most part, this system 'just works', and the odd time it doesn't is infrequent enough to be completely worth it.

10:19 PM
good
yeah, that migration was just.... soooo wwrong.

Q: Code Eval Fizz Buzz Challenge in Ruby

user7207I am trying to get this Code Eval challenge to work in ruby, but even though the results look correct, it doesn't seem to want to accept it, and I can't figure out why! Can anyone see why this might not be accepted by the Code Eval program? Thanks! https://www.codeeval.com/open_challenges/1/ ...

@CaptainObvious Just because it's FizzBuzz doesn't mean it's on topic on Code Review.

So, my boss quit. Or is quitting. I'm not sure when his last day is.

10:35 PM
@rolfl Mod opinion, is this question off-topic on SO? like should it be migrated to Arduino -->http://stackoverflow.com/q/28285147/1214743
just seems like it is not being received well on SO

You want my opinion on whether a SO question should be migrated to arduino?

Could it be because it's not a good question?

Migration to Code Review wwas rejected, I am voting to re-open here on SO. — Simon André Forsberg 20 secs ago

@rolfl yeah I see your point....lol

For what it's worth, it seems completely on-topic on SO.

10:37 PM
@nhgrif it's a good question, he gave the errors and the code. but I guess he didn't say what he tried to fix the issue though

whether it's on-topic on arduino too, IDK

Migration to Code Review wwas rejected, I am voting to re-open here on SO. — Simon André Forsberg 1 min ago

It doesn't give the error.

I guess I should ask C++ people if his code is even valid in C++. really Arduino is almost a different language IIRC

There is no error. It is demonstrating presumably unintended behavior.
And the intended behavior is not described.

10:39 PM
@nhgrif you have lost me. he gave the error at the top of the question
> core.a(main.cpp.o): In function 'main':
C:\Program Files (x86)\Arduino\hardware\arduino\cores\arduino/main.cpp:11: >
undefined reference to 'setup'
C:\Program Files (x86)\Arduino\hardware\arduino\cores\arduino/main.cpp:14: >
undefined reference to 'loop'

@Malachi In general, it is better to not create problems, than it is to try to fix them

That question cannot easily be moved simply because it has a +score answer.
yours.

@nhgrif my bad, I thought you were getting in on this conversation...lol

Oh, you pinged rolfl and I looked at the last link he posted.
Your post didn't make it into a link.

10:41 PM
Hello/Morning

@rolfl right. I didn't think it mattered if it had answers as long as they fit the destinations guidelines, thanks for that info though

Hey Mehrad
@Malachi it does matter. Though, it's not an absolute.
Regardless, by suggesting the question shoul dbe migrated, you are also suggesting it is off-topic for SO.
By suggesting it is off-topic on SO, then why did you answer it?
When you answered it, you must have thought it was on-topic.
otherwise you should have voted to close.

@Mehrad HAI!

@nhgrif I am familiar with instruments, but the code for the NSDictionary is a few commits behind at this point

HAI :)

10:44 PM
@nhgrif - pro-tip: If your boss is leaving, it creates change-anxiety.
change-anxiety will happen often in your career.
now is the time to make sure you get an e-mail address/contact for your boss.
you never know when you may need it.

@rolfl I have his phone number and email address. We've played games online together before.
He's on my Steam friends list...

Bizarre !!! PO marked the answer as an "Answer" and commented that it fixed his problem last year. All of a sudden last night he deselected my answer as on !!! and my answer is the only one. it's not like I say he went for a different one which worked bettereee !!! Strange SO

Also, now is also the time to hope that you have not got any black marks from whomever may be the new boss, or that you can be considered for the promotion

@rolfl I am considered.

Hands up if you think SO is strange sometimes :/

10:46 PM
I'm the only one of my coworkers that officially knows.

s/sometimes/always/
That's good news, now it's time for "How to win friends and influence people... ;]"

I just got a raise a few weeks ago.
And... it was my 1 year review...

Well, it sounds like you're the rising star ;-)

Yeah...

intimidated yet? At some point you'll rise to the point where you don't know what you're doing anymore.

10:48 PM
@nhgrif congrats.

That point is going to happen soon.
We write an ERP system...
In reviews, the employee is being reviewed and he is reviewing his employers.

@nhgrif familiar with an ERP called Priority ?

One of my criticisms was that not enough people know enough about the code base in general. It was basically all held together by my boss, and I was the only one making an effort to understand anything outside what I was immediately working on.

@rolfl actually I think I did....

@Mehrad No.

10:50 PM
I flagged it anyway, because it was obvious, but then I realized that maybe the OP didn't know it was that obvious

@Josay's answer this morning to my question was very humble but actually brilliant (Python), wish he caught up with the top answer there... codereview.stackexchange.com/a/79331/12390

@janos You could always, ya know... accept it ;D

anyway TTQW

I will, at some point, what's the rush

@bazola Have you time profiled your slow code?

10:57 PM
thanks Santas for Josey ;-)

@nhgrif a bit, yeah. I would have to run it again to tell you exactly what method (of the code that I posted) is the bottleneck

I'm close to cap but it probably won't happen naturally. So here's a Naruto for your consideration: codereview.stackexchange.com/questions/79107/…

anyone know how to completely turn off autocomplete for Safari for OS X?

Nope.
Anyone need votes?

Q: Binary Heap implementation in Golang

SpearfisherI have implemented a binary Heap in Go to get familiar with the language: https://github.com/arnauddri/algorithms/blob/master/data-structures%2Fheap%2Fheap.go It works fine and my tests pass just fine. I have implemented a heap sort based on this: https://github.com/arnauddri/algorithms/blob/mas...

@Hosch250 I still need one. Here's a kill attempt of an old python git zombie: codereview.stackexchange.com/q/59596/12390

OK, I'm out.

11:22 PM
I saw you've been holding onto that one for a long time ;-)
and thanks Santa Hosch250

Yeah, I wanted access to the Review queues.

@Hosch250 I wwill need soon. Preparing a question. Not sure if I wiwwl be able to post it before reload though

Like, wtf:

I need 36 points to cap.

@SimonAndréForsberg Hosch250 is out of ammo (so am I)

11:23 PM

And 64 views for a silver badge.

@rolfl possibly confused user

Make that 61.

oh Revival. That was an old zombie

Thanks, Santa-who-isn't-janos.
