Q: My implemetation of String in c++

MateuszI wrote my string class. Could anyone tell me what am I doing wrong? It is an excercise from "Accelerated c++ book": Implement the Str class, but choose an implementation strategy that requires that the class manage the storage itself. For example, you might store an array of char and a l...

this is why GUIDs are important, people

Was it with GUIDs that the probability of a collision is smaller than that of you getting killed right now?

any of you guys use TypeScript in VS2015?
that's weird....
I think I like TypeScript.....

@Malachi dude, your point of reference is ...of course you like ! /jk

Isn't TypeScript basically Microsoft-flavored JavaScript?

JScript is Microsoft's dialect of the ECMAScript standard that is used in Microsoft's Internet Explorer. JScript is implemented as an Active Scripting engine. This means that it can be "plugged in" to OLE Automation applications that support Active Scripting, such as Internet Explorer, Active Server Pages, and Windows Script Host. It also means such applications can use multiple Active Scripting languages, e.g., JScript, VBScript or PerlScript. JScript was first supported in the Internet Explorer 3.0 browser released in August 1996. Its most recent version is JScript 9.0, included in Intern...

Steve ChamaillardHere's a sample code that I made up : <?php class RegisterController { public $userRepo; public $blogRepo; public $mailer; public $avatarRepo; public function __construct(UserRepository $userRepo, AvatarRepository $avatarRepo, BlogRepository $blogRepo, Mailer $mailer) { ...

@Malachi IMO you should remove the MSE post, since you cross-posted. no point in reopening.

@MatíasFidemraizer this is not for code review, i am actually not sure how to proceed with a part of the implementation and was hoping to get response regarding that. I still don't understand how this is off topic. — Raj Powar 49 secs ago

@Mat'sMug I think it will get more attention on MSE than on Meta. I don't see jobs as being a part of the stack overflow IMO.
but not if it is closed.

Q: VERY simple C# Set implementation

@zak I'm already working on an answer, but it's a substantial rewrite, so more work to do.

@Phrancis The class is renamed in the edit. Does that fix the issue?
@Zak The problem with being an expert in your field.

@Mast I think so

@Phrancis Poof. Now get more close votes on the question.
@CaptainObvious You want to do what? That's a bad idea.
I've been trying to post a CR question for a while this evening and haven't succeeded. I keep running into things I want to do better before posting.

9:05 PM
Could that be a good problem to have?

I think it's a luxury problem.
I'll probably clean it up tomorrow and post it when I'm finished.
I prefer good posts over quick posts.
Speaking about that, I still don't have [badge:Inquisitive].
How can not using return be idiomatic to any language... I'm too trapped in old thinking to wrap my head around it.

With some languages (especially FP and such) the return is assumed and would be just adding noise

It's Ruby, Ruby isn't FP IIRC.

I'm sure there is a reason, even if it's just syntactic sugar

9:20 PM
Probably.
Just haven't found it yet.
Ah well, I'll just have to embark on another quest.
