Have you guys seen the awful questions on Arqade?
ikr
I bet half of the users who ask those questions are 6-year-olds desperately trying to get the game working on their parent's 5-year old Windows XP laptops.
lol ikr
I'm one of those xD

5:28 AM
Time for a change. ;)
Refresh teh page
Why it no worky
Go look at my profile page on CR
Sigh. I changed my profile picture to this:

monking

monking @janos

monking fellas

Start a new CR meme @QPaysTaxes. Call it "monk all", "monk star", "monk asterik", or "monk*"
Whatever. It can be called all those things. Except "all", maybe.
Or it could be called "point to monk"
Yeah, but it sorta works
Yarp

*monk de-references the pointer (getting to the monk) :)

5:37 AM
Okay then, how about this "Reverse de-reference monk"?

hm, so it's language dependent

@QPaysTaxes Python has the exact same thing.

we have at least 3 different interpretations then

@QPaysTaxes Isn't ruby like Python, but with a different synrax and a few other things?
I already have a knife.
Covered in blood.
While I stand in a boxing ring.
Surrounded by a cheering crowd,
I wonder why the page just refreshed.

@QPaysTaxes be careful, he's the one with the knife and you're a unicorn

5:41 AM
Oh yeah, I changed my profile pic.
duh
I'm dumb
@QPaysTaxes I have and I want to murder all the little ponies not watch it.

@EthanBierlein (mse[x] & 0x7fffffe0) doesn't look shorter than ((mse[x]/32)*32). but it's better, yeah

@janos It's not shorter, but from looking at the comments, it should be faster.
You're probably more Python pro than me.
@QPaysTaxes Do u even dragonballz bruh

it's a tip on wording: your post talks about shortness, but that's not the most important thing about it

Oh, yeah, well I'll crush you in a car crusher and feed your organs to the other ponies make you run off a cliff.

another thing, when you mention coding style in Python, it's good to point out PEP8, and link to it
I was wondering why @QPaysTaxes has a link to Cactus, but no commits

5:46 AM
Oh yeah, you're a unicorn. Well, I'm still the one with a bloody machete.
@janos I updated my profile with info, so he's not the only one.

frankly I thought @QPaysTaxes == @EthanBierlein but looking at your conversation above, I guess not :)

@janos The only difference is our choice of killing style his more rapid rep gain.

@QPaysTaxes I stand corrected

@QPaysTaxes Actually, I've, already upvoted all of them. xD
Shh, it's okay.
I'm here for you
@QPaysTaxes I don't use the

@QPaysTaxes the day just started (for me at least), I got 'em plenty

machete to kill. Just to torture
Specifically, horses unicorns unicorns named @QPaysTaxes
Wow. How on Earth did we get to talking about brutally torturing/killing each other?

alright, let's see...

Yes, I all started it that one fateful day, the day I ate your arms.
Whatever. Legs.
Fine then, I ate all of your legs.

sure thing ;-) (and you asked me nicely ;-)

Wow. Once again, my stars are gone.
Oh crap. I just realized that it's almost 1AM here.
In that case, night!

Q: C++ Keyboard Controller

Daniel MartinI've written a Controller for the keyboard so that I can map certain keys to callbacks within a game. A key can only call one callback, but a callback can be called by many keys. Currently, a Controller has two std::maps - one for when the key(s) is pressed/held, and one for when the key(s) are ...

6:00 AM
my edit to this is just a suggestion, feel free to roll back if you don't like it
I like to distinguish code from the OP (quoted code) and code I propose myself (non-quoted code)
ah yes, I forgot the second one
looks like you answer a lot before eating :)
some of your posts end with a remark that you're going to eat and will be back later
these remarks are now obsolete, and would be good to clean out
keep in mind that every time you edit a post, the question gets bumped to the front page. if you do it too much, it can appear as if you're abusing the system to get attention, so avoid inconsequential edits
hm, I reviewed 3 of your posts and I could upvote all of them. That's pretty good!
I saw your earlier posts too before. I think you're getting better. Keep it up!

Q: Naive password checker

njpLooking for advice on how I could improve this. I'm using VS2015 to compile so whatever language features are supported in there is fair game! Q: Need Help From Moderator/User

BrettI know such posts are frowned upon, but I don't have the permissions to comment on the user's answer nor do I have the points to ask this question in meta, where it belongs. In this post, the user offers a more than satisfactory review, but he's also made a few mistakes. The user claims: "log(2....

What are you guys doing up so early on a Saturday?
@RubberDuck I see you playing with rubberduck

10:51 AM
Lol. @Lyle'sMug. Trying to crush an issue before the kids get up. Then it's laundry and car shopping for me.
I'm old. I get up way too early. Which is funny, because I can remember back when I'd still be up at this time on a "Friday night".

Q: Misinformation In An Answer

BrettIn this post, the user offers a more than satisfactory review, but he's also made a few mistakes. The user claims: "log(2.0) is 0.3 so dividing by that is equivalent to multiplying by 3.3. That seems a bit large." That statement is wrong, in C/C++ log(x) is the natural logarithm log_e (also known...

I am working. Stocking Pepsi

11:09 AM
@Lyle'sMug When did you get into my old job?

12:01 PM
@rolfl Greetings dude. Sorry for pinging you. You've edited my question about the quick css style generator (codereview.stackexchange.com/questions/88782/…) and I've noticed that the last point that has the options is missing a newline. Since you already edited, and I want you to have all the credits, I'm warning you about this issue (that's just +2 reputation, but you deserve them).

12:15 PM
@IsmaelMiguel after a certain point you no longer receive +2 for edits. So, go ahead and make the change. =)

I am happy to edit the questin if you want. I don't get reputation for edits I make, (after a certain rep .... ) that ^^^
As an aside... I find this entertaining: datascience.stackexchange.com/help/badges/18/guru?userid=9
I am the only guru on that site ;-)

Lol. That is entertaining.

Wow dude!
Congratulations!
And sorry the delay to say something

> Big Data" and "Bad Data" are closely related.

Yes, I would like that you made that tiny quick edit, since you have done a lot for the question and you deserve recognition for it.

12:19 PM
As a guy who spends his hours making sure the database is "pristine" (lol right) I just don't get the Big Data fascination.

Everybody has his tastes.
And his likes and dislikes
Some like big data, others like food and gaming.

And me? I like VBA! =P

@StackExchange @LokiAstari Just to make sure it reaches you.

"Anything too big to load into Excel" is the running joke. — Spacedman Jun 11 '14 at 12:07

@RubberDuck You do? Wouldn't have figured.

12:24 PM
I tried my touch on VBA, it wasn't my thing

I'm a sick duck.

And that reminds me: did you checked the link I sent with the tic-tac-toe?

No. I never had a chance. Been kind of busy with RL. Lots of cover letters and interviews.

@RubberDuck That's a very good question by the way.

Anyone has the VB6 reg keys laying around?

12:26 PM
And a very good answer from our resident mod monkey.
@IsmaelMiguel???

@RubberDuck VB6 disables the compiler unless you have 2 registry keys on your computer. You can't use VB6 without them (, most of the time, or if you can't you won't be able to compile anything). I've always had troubles to find those registry keys.

Oh. No. I don't have those, but @Mat'sMug has a copy of the old VS. He might be able to get them for you.

I think I found it.
Wow, 2015 made it a lot easier!
Yup, found it!
Crap, it dies on me

@Duga That seems to me an almost-fine recommendation.
The question was deleted and might be moved to codereview.

keewee279I am new to HTML and programming and hope someone can help me with this. I have written the code for the first pages of my website and am now about to upload these to the server for a test. GODDAMN!
@Mast Yes, that is what I meant.

@IsmaelMiguel Don't autocomplete, just hit the return symbol on the most right of the post you want to reply on.

@Mast That takes soooooooooooooooo much longer...

We don't do code writing requests. If you have problem with your code show it to us. If your code is working but you want it to be reviewed you should post it on codereview.stackexchange.com. — Pshemo 57 secs ago

@IsmaelMiguel Can you re-describe how you type that?
you type @ m and space?
or @ m and tab?

m and then I hit space
It happens on Firefox and IE11

What do you think of this: jsfiddle.net/c8cL0a3m/1
It is a very basic 'popup' with an iframe
It was my answer to this question:

A: How to create a pop up window without a new browser?

Ismael MiguelThe most ridiculously basic one: window.onload=function(){ document.body.onclick = function(e){ if(e.target && e.target.tagName === 'A') { var skip = { '_blank':1, '_top':1, '_self':1, '_parent':1, '':1 }, elem = e.target; if(!...

Q: Should I use data transfer objects

@IsmaelMiguel that actually looks like a pretty good CR question to me. Am I missing something?

@QPaysTaxes I was actually saying "I did this thing. Look at it! Is it bad?"
@RubberDuck Most likely you aren't missing anything
@QPaysTaxes I kinda was thinking about it.
@QPaysTaxes I might in 20 minutes or less
@QPaysTaxes I've seen edits where the onlçy changed thing was whitespace.
It looks perfectly fine.

Monking

@QPaysTaxes Depends. Some change the lines and change a tiny bit of the formatting.
Nevermind...
:/
The edit also changed 1 word.
?
@QPaysTaxes Well, 1-char edits are accepted, as long as the answer/question is improved.
Try editing 1 char and removing newlines.
No, I didn't.

2:35 PM
@QPaysTaxes Oh shit, for a second there I thought you had already surpassed me. xD

@QPaysTaxes The edit I'm refering to was made without going to the suggested queue.
@QPaysTaxes ?
You should sleep

Wait, you haven't slept yet @QPaysTaxes?
I just woke up about half an hour ago.

The best places in the world are the bed, bathtub and the kitchen
That's a lot

Oh, well, Coffee!

I slept around 7
Pfff, you are here dude/miss
More disturbing can't be
Besides, IT'S COFFEE!!!

2:43 PM
GET THE COFFEE. FOR IT IS THE LIFEBLOOD OF EVERY DEVELOPER. WITHOUT IT, WE PERISH.

@EthanBierlein I don't drink coffee
I drink monster
I'm Portuguese, and I'm too lazy (and scared) to make coffee

@IsmaelMiguel Lol. I actually found out the other day that there's some heart condition in my family which makes for bad reactions to the chemicals and stuff in monster. I used to drink it though.

@EthanBierlein Is it taurine?

Probably. And caffine too. And somethingine. And etc.

I have something for you.
Listen to both at the same time
for the first 15 seconds
Or both till the end
Weird weird mix is weird, but fun!

2:47 PM
@QPaysTaxes Time to go to bed for .... ?

@EthanBierlein For counting pillow, or make a pillow fortress. What else would it be?

Of course. How could I be so silly to miss the pillow fortresses. :D

Well, not everybody knows everything

Oh, okay. Have fun

@IsmaelMiguel TS While landing a plane

@EthanBierlein ? what? TS? You mean, teamspeak?

You beat me to it.

Can anyone translate that to dumb people?

That's okay. As long as I reach my personal goal of 5K by the end of the summer.

the "many memes of" meta posts are useful references for this sort of thing
I almost had to ask what a TS was yesterday

That's all

Ethan BierleinAs you asked in your question, I'm going to try and address your performance issues here. Some of this will be a style review though, so bear with me. I don't do Python :/
