@skiwi not unless you're a tarantula

The Goliath birdeater (Theraphosa blondi) is a spider belonging to the tarantula family, Theraphosidae. It is considered to be the largest spider in the world (by leg-span, it is second to the giant huntsman spider), and it may be the largest by mass. It is also called the Goliath bird-eating spider; the practice of calling theraphosids "bird-eating" derives from an early 18th-century copper engraving by Maria Sibylla Merian that shows one eating a hummingbird, but the term is inaccurate as they do not primarily prey on birds. == Habitat and ecology == Theraphosa blondi is native to the upland...

Q: Is this question closed inappropriately: "Operating on files from source directory"

rolflI have been asked to evaluate the close reasons for this question here: Operating on files from source directory Has been closed "off-topic - example code". Is the question actually on-topic? If it is off-topic, is the 'example-code' the right close reason?

A: Asking for a suggestion: partially obscure the source code

rolflYou should feel discouraged from posting code that should not be 'in the wild'. If you do not have the rights to post the code, then don't post it. Code Review requires that the code is 'real code', and not example code. Many times it is possible to post the code you want reviewed 'as is', and i...

That.
@Revious - if you can find a way to sanitize the code in a way that we can't notice, then that's great. If the sanitization ends up with names like methodA, or variableFoo then it's a problem. My experience though, is that it is very hard to sanitize like that, and still keep meaningful code. If you can do it, then no problem. — rolfl ♦ Dec 4 '14 at 15:59

@200_success so, I'm not looking for pointers on the code itself, nor the wording of the comments. The above could be replaced with $(thing).foo().bar().baz().qux() for the sake of the question. My question is this: what is a better way to format the line-by-line comments so that they're not cluttered looking and flow nicely with the document. so, it's mostly a formatting question. — Todd 2 mins ago

@Shortstuff81000 Your code has to be fully working to be on-topic here.
If it is not working, then you should ask at Stack Overflow.

@Mat'sMug My select statement works when I have the SQL directly in the data source. When I use a stored procedure, I get the image path

@rolfl That's what I though @rolfl. I mean that wasn't the only comment about attributes from the author and he got into attributes in details later on but that comment on it's own, I just couldn't get over it. reread it multiple times to make sure I am reading it right

I just wanted to explain why I put the SQL script in the data source instead of using a procedure. :-)

10:41 PM
OK, maybe you should state that it works (that comment above would be a good inclusion) so no one gets confused and close votes it.

If you have actual working code that does what you need it to do, you can edit it into your question, and mention that you have a concern about potential concurrency issues - answerers/reviewers will most probably point out any flaws. If you know there's a concurrency issue with your code, you're better off taking the problematic snippet to Stack Overflow. — Mat's Mug 5 secs ago

I'm trying hard not to pimp

guys, question: I have this obj of a type `DataTableCollection` and I just can't get it's `List` of contents other than doing a `Foreach` what would I do?
This works `foreach (System.Data.DataTable table in dataSet.Tables)` but the `List` property which MSDN claims it's there doesn't show up
var m = (InternalDataCollectionBase)dataSet.Tables;
var bar = m.List
What am I missing here !!!

I appreciate you remembered @SimonAndréForsberg !

@Mat'sMug if you're around can I hear your input on this?

Hmmm... @janos' answer had zero score. I upvoted. Now it has 3 score.
Feels like I am serial upvoting by just upvoting one answer!

11:35 PM
lol I upvoted.
Sigh... I don't seem to be getting any rep these days...

thanks Santas (and Simon), unfortunately I'm still a bit far

@janos how much more?

25.

Oh.

2 more ;)

11:40 PM
20?

there it is

That old, accepted, no vote... now the asker has enough rep to vote as well.
Ho Ho Ho

phew, things looked pretty grim until a few minutes ago

19 minutes to go.

11:42 PM
thank you Santa Squad :)

@Hosch250 19 min until what?
End of day?

Time limit for rep cap.

oh.

I was saying it wasn't that close.

I'll know where to spend some votes tomorrow morning ;-)

11:43 PM
where?

@Hosch250 - your rep page is... amusing: codereview.stackexchange.com/users/34073/…

@rolfl Yes?
Oh, I know.

Very.

to me things looked grim. During the day I was at 95, and then I answered 4, which on most days would get me to the cap, but today was a very surprising 0, until 15 minutes ago....

11:44 PM
200_success told me to stop.

lol

I can see his point.

@janos I have earned 10 rep in the past two days.... -90 if you consider that 100 of that rep was earned last year.

no answers, no rep is not that uncommon on CR

@rolfl I'm surprised. For a 50k...

11:45 PM
Oh, I know that I have to answer to get rep ... ;-)

Or ask, but that is slow.

in my experience, old answers bring in a lot more on SO than CR in general

@rolfl you did get a +100 bounty today though

You seen the 'money for jam' query on SO?
@SimonAndréForsberg Yeah, but I 'earned' that last year... I guess.

what's that? (the 'money for jam' query)

interesting
anyway, TTGTB, thanks again guys, and see you tomorrow
