@Abcd Btw I would like to read more about it, I have Clayden PDF, could you tell me where can I find it?

Q: Question about reaction notation (commas, numbers, and dashes)

Jack KawasakiI'm learning Organic Chemistry and in my university course we're using commas, numbers, and dashes in the reactions. My question is: What is the difference between these 3 forms of notation? This is what I think: The topmost notation means we add NaOH to a reactant, create a certain product...

Hello
In protic solvent I- is better nucleophile than F-. Doesn't that mean F- must be a better leaving group than I- ?
It is not the case according to solomons....
@Abcd @AvnishKabaj @EshaManideep @IceInkberry

Whoever is reading this, are exemplar problems even worth a try? Do they have any good questions in them? Did you solve them? @Abcd @AvnishKabaj @EshaManideep @Jasmine
11:42
@IceInkberry the problem is the questions are subjective and eat time
@Abcd There are objective ones too by the way. I looked at them, simple questions though. Like behind NCERT. Also subjectives ones have reasoning answers, so they aren't long.
@IceInkberry send pic of your exemplars cover page on WhatsApp
12:45
@IceInkberry physics exemplar is very good although I haven't solved but I have seen it tests our concepts

@Dante read in clayden, its a basic concept
17:14
@IceInkberry Hmm, please have a look at them and tell me whether chemistry is good. I don't have one BTW.
@Abcd@AvnishKabaj@Dante@GaurangTandon@IceInkberry@Jasmine@J_B892 any idea about square planar nature of AgO ? I have read that Ag(III) in that compound is surrounded in squareplanar fashion by oxide ions, how is the crystal and all ? any idea about it ?
Don't ping gaurang tandon . He is in college and doesn't remember chemistry stuff. Must be busy with college stuff.
I don't have any idea about your question though.
@Abcd I guess you can edit it then ? ;)
Search in jd lee... But i dont think it's there
@EshaManideep room owners cant edit messages :)
@Abcd I yet have to.
Ask on main properly then
17:23
I will see, if nobody answers and my interest stays firm :P
I dunno
I don't think anyone here knows it
BTW, this book is good for transistors and all ! b-ok.cc/dl/1055941/af6e60, try it !
@AvnishKabaj which was that exception in which fluoride is strong field ligand @EshaManideep
I can't recall
I think it was one with iron
Oxalate
With Co(3)
17:24
Nah
Nope
Fluoride as strong field ligand
Anyhow the fluorine thing isn't in ncert
Ummm
Coordination is higher level chapter
Ncert isn't sufficient for it
I think
@EshaManideep do you know that exception
@EshaManideep thanks a lot for the link. Badly needed it. Hope it has a good explanation
platinum?
17:26
Dude what
@Abcd Only problems pal
@EshaManideep :/
@Dante that isn't an exception though
Wait I'll check my nb
That's what I badly needed, for explanation feynman is good enough, but you have to build the rest for yourself though :P
Good night have a nice day (test ?) tomorrow !
17:27
There was also an exception where ammonia is weak field ligand
@EshaManideep yeah
Thanks
Found it!!
[NiF6]2-
Fluoride as strong field ligand^^^
And
[Fe(NH3)6]2+
Ammonia as weak field ligand^
Cool
!
@AvnishKabaj Sorry it was chloride, I got confused
