The Queen doesn't cost us very much and people regard her as a symbol of the British nation. So on balance people are happy for the royal family to stay as they are.

Technically she's Queen of Canada too; but we don't even get the direct benefits of tourism. As far as I'm aware, the role is basically entirely symbolic. Like most people in Canada (myself included), don't really understand how the queen plays into anything; it never seems to have any effect on any politics.

Yeah, the commonwealth is actually pretty big, it just doesn't seem to have a tangible effect on anything (which is a positive IMO; I don't have a real problem with ceremonial pretense that goes along with the democratic system)

@JMac I suspect changing the constitution to remove the Queen as the head of state would be a divisive issue and your leaders have decided it doesn't really matter and isn't worth the fuss it would cause.

@JohnRennie As far as anything goes, it doesn't really seem beneficial to break off from it. I don't know what benefits we get from it; but I don't think it takes anything away either. It seems like it's just a cultural heritage thing, which I'm totally fine with, especially since it doesn't prevent us from celebrating other cultural heritages. It doesn't hurt anyone, and we get a fancy staff for someone in parliament to carry, so net win I'd say.

@JMac Passport Laws are always there which have authority over the external Affairs Department of Government of that country. A queen can't move to Australia without those laws (I'm pretty sure that Australia must have those)

@AbhasKumarSinha I'm saying the wording is bad. "There's only queen in Britain and not in Australia" doesn't mean the same thing as "The Queen only resides in Britain and not in Australia". Plus, the Queen does have places to stay when visiting her other territories that she runs.

It's safe to say that no country is going to try and prevent her from entering their country on that basis alone, since that would be a major diplomatic incident which no one will risk for a mere formality.

Otherwise, it feels like the person is asking about something very vague

"rigidity" which i feel is like covered by like

the definition of a rigid body

and a basic understanding of the different phases of matter, i.e. solid liquid gas plasma
