11:04 PM
I completely forgot about a project part I'm responsible for
rip me

Lol
RIP you indeed
I hate groups projects

@BernardoMeurer I melted the plastic on my case
it started bending from the heat

What case?
How?

gpu running at 100% for hours
it seems to have regained its old shape

What on earth were you doing?!

11:09 PM
new Ass Creed game
it is poorly optimized

I need a better CPU to properly play it
wonder how much a top Ryzen is
a lot
jeez

Yeah, a lot
CPUs are expensive
Just buy some 500 raspberry pies and daisy chain them

it's still only 3.6 Ghz
I'd have to go to the R7 1800X to make upgrading worth it and it's $460

11:15 PM
But there's no way to increase single-core performance
I don't think my computer is doing the boost though
It's supposed to boost to 4.0 but it isn't.

Who cares for CPU really
These days the GPU does most of the heavy lifting

Is the CPU really your problem here?

@BernardoMeurer yes

Unless you're streaming it shouldn't matter I think

well, the game is horribly optimized, so who really knows
I'm getting a weird GPU usage curve
the various monitoring programs disagree on what's happening

11:18 PM
I hate Ubisoft
They produce such utter crap software
it's really malware

apparently it's the DRM

@0celo7 There's a Dj. Matty B in my local radio

their new DRM makes you stream or something

Ugh
DRM is cancer
This is exactly what my essay is about

> In order to recreate a living, systemic and majestic open world of Ancient Egypt, where players can witness all of its stunning details, its beautiful landscapes & incredible cities, in a completely seamless way with no loading screens, Assassin’s Creed Origins uses the full extent of the minimum and recommended PC system requirements here: while ensuring a steady 30 FPS performance.
30 fps

11:20 PM
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
That is great

I want 100fps
Barely get 60

My raspberry pi's TFT display running over I2C on the GPIO bus runs at 30 fps

I should turn off AA and see what that does
at least it runs better than the 3-year-old Unity!

@BernardoMeurer When people illegally download films despite legally owning the film because they don't fulfil the DRM requirements... Yeah...

@Mithrandir24601 I priate HBO because HBO Go is awful
so while I wait for the DRM to reset on HBO Go, I pirate

11:23 PM
@Mithrandir24601 I'll post my essay on it on my blog soon
It's just bullshit

If you get a DRM flag on HBO Go you have to wait 30 minutes before doing anything

I'm fucking angry now
FUCK
AH

that includes being logged in on multiple devices
@BernardoMeurer are you listening to me?

Yes
I am triggered

it's awful
I am going to try to watch HBO tonight but who knows if it will work

11:24 PM
@0celo7 I want to slap the person who came up with that very hard. Maybe I should punch them instead? I've been practising punching...

I have to close it on my laptop and wait 30 mins before logging in on my PC

I hate DRM with so much strength

5 messages moved to Trash
Be kind to each other, people :)

@ACuriousMind Oh come on, what's wrong with referring to a boner?
Is that against the chat rules?

@BernardoMeurer Michelle is taking me to a ballet

11:29 PM
@0celo7 Cool!

@BernardoMeurer Eh, I thought the sentiment on the whole wasn't very nice. You can dislike people but wanting to see them burn is a bit crass.

Do you know whether you're going to X. next year?

wtf is X.?

@ACuriousMind I was talking about the organization, not the people themselves (although I don't like the people there either). If you hear someone say "I hope Apple crashes and burns" I don't think you'd infer they want Apple employees to crash and burn.
@0celo7 The location you referred to traveling to but asked me not to tell in the chat

oh
no movement yet
although I asked my parents and they said yes
so it's quite possible
still don't say anything pls

11:31 PM
Dope, I hope it works out
Not saying anything
That's why I'm using top secret codenames

good

@0celo7 Bah! Now I'm curious :P

11:51 PM
Hm
How to show that if two points $p$ and $q$ are adjacent, for a continuous function $f$, $f(p) = f(q)$
There are some sequences such that $\lim p_n = p$ and $\lim p_n = q$
But that's not true of all sequences

What's the definition of adjacent?

What do you mean by adjacent? $\not\exists n\text{ s.t. } p<n<q$ ?

Adjacent meaning that there's no disjoint neighbourhoods of $p$ and $q$
Or is the fact that some such sequences exist is enough

Alright, I'm lost now

Yeah I think that's enough
since there exist a sequence such that $x_n$ converges to both $p$ and $q$, that sequence is part of both the set of sequences converging to $p$ and the set of sequences converging to $q$
Hence $f(x_n)$ will converge to $f(p)$ and $f(q)$
And since $\mathbb{R}$ is Hausdorff that should be the same value

11:58 PM
Why is the last sentence true?
> And since $\Bbb R$ is Hausdorff that should be the same value

I'm not sure
I think in a Hausdorff space a sequence can't converge to two different points?
Because then they'll have overlapping neighbourhoods
