In the original American version, the competition was a "fastest finger" thing. A question along the lines of "order these 4 items by date/importance/whatever" was given and then whoever got the order correct in the shortest amount of time got the chance to be in the seat
@Slereah If by shit you mean "not up to MS office standards" then I might agree, but if you mean something different, please clarify so I can agree or not
@0celo7 Hmm, that is an odd choice. Franklin introduces $C{^\alpha}_{\beta\gamma}$ but only says it is a triply-indexed object we know nothing about and then later introduces it as the Christoffel connection.
If you read a geometry book you'll see it is more natural to first define the cov. derivative along a curve $\nabla_X$ and then the cov. derivative itself $\nabla_i$ by $\nabla_X:=X^i\nabla_i$
the better way to define the christoffel symbols (without getting into fiber bundle nonsense) is: let $\{e_i\}_{i=1,...,n}$ be a basis of $M$ and $\nabla$ an affine connection on $M$. Then $\nabla_{e_i}e_j=\Gamma^k{}_{ij}e_k$.
by choosing $e_i=\partial_i$ and changing variables, you recover the usual crazy transformation rule of the Christoffel symbols
@0celo7 Wiki says this definition is the 'Christoffel symbol of the second kind' (though I cannot see a difference between the first & second kind definitions outside of the upper/lower index)
@0celo7: When I was on vacation in London with some friends, I installed a GBA emulator on my iPhone and showed it to a friend. Needless to say he spend roughly 95% of our time in London playing Pokemon on my iPhone.
Yes, he is very liberal. One of the things he does is make fun of Repubs for the most mundane things, but when Big Dem says something that would've made Nightly News had Big Repub says it, it gets brushed under the carpet at the Daily Show

@0celo7 In no particular order: (SNES) Street Fighter II Turbo, Link to the Past, Super Mario World (obv), Super Mario Kart, FF5, Chrono Trigger, Mortal Kombat, Secret of Mana, Super Metroid
@0celo7: Yeah, that's a lot more difficult. I was just really disappointed by the difficulty of the story line. I remember my first game was Pokemon Yellow, how I tried to kill Onix and the other rock pokemon with poor Pikachu.
@TanMath Without knowing anything about the subject of the question there are two reasons I'm not surprised by the lack of response. (A) Your answer appears to by inexpert eyes to be similar to one that came before it. (B) Your answer was posted on a questions with relatively few views when it was already a day old.
It's a simple matter of not many people having seen it, even fewer who felt qualified to vote on it and probably some of those felt that Chris' answer covered the matter and that your didn't add much to it.
