@ahiijny it's also a privacy feature - doesn't let it do whatever to your pc state or steal data for marketing
@ahiijny ah yes the 9000 browser bookmarks confirm
I've been browsing reddit a lot lately, but this "lately" has been going on for the last 3-4-5 years honestly can't remember how long
saw a comic recently with 2 panels: 1) at work: can't work well until relaxed 2) on vacation: can't truly relax until all work is done
I also have tremendously long plans written out vaguely but in enough detail to know it's gonna take a couple years to complete, so yea there's better things to do and I'm kinda afraid to let myself truly forget about both my money making work and my hobby/free time work coz "what if I won't be able to resume again"
seems to be a common experience among people of a working age
I don't have a solution for that, but I did notice this thought pattern, so that's a step
@ahiijny I would suggest trying to figure out if there is something that truly brings you more enjoyment/relaxation than those things, so you can feel less anxious about potential fear of missing out on the old things you used to like more, knowing that you now enjoy other things better
I used to watch 2 movies a day from the top imdb list and rated above 8.0/10 in my uni years, but having watched about 2000 titles I thought I've basically seen most interesting movie types, and the plots of the more interesting ones stopped surprising me, and it started feeling not worth my time anymore, so I returned to sci-fi (audio) books for a couple years next. Which also lasted only a few more years and now I can't bring myself to read anymore coz I think I've read enough books.
now I've been reading internet comments, which don't seem to follow the same limited patterns as published books or filmed movies seem to be limited to
I keep thinking "when will I start feeling like I've read all the comments there are" but maybe this time the medium is not subject to the same limitations as books and movies
so maybe I'll be able to read reddit threads for a loooong time before it starts feeling like "I've seen everything" again
(thanks for coming to my cat talk)
