yep, nothing says we're innocent than threatening economic harm
heard that the Chinese Government is allowing Chinese scientists to look into the matter, BUT are not allowed to publish any finding until it's reviewed by the government, because the Chinese Government can so be trusted to not cover up COVID-19

I think the biggest concern for the Chinese government is that they didn't sound a loud enough alarm early enough, and didn't self restrict out-bound travel.
No investigation is going to find evidence for bio-terrorism like conspiracy theorists think.

1:07 AM
ah,
an upside to not too many peasants dying, finally

1:34 AM
@MBraedley they did the opposite, they actively tried to hide it by silencing whistle-blowers
Trump's "revelation" on Kim Jong Un's health, and a bit from one of the host which echos are we would all be thinking after that

so the UFOs were real
I mean I didn't have any reason to doubt the video being actual footage really
but still pretty crazy
wait that was in 2017???
time moves too fast I thought that was only a year ago
oh the later ones did get released in 2019 (by the Times)
wow Harry Reid says that there's more

> U.S. intelligence agencies issued warnings about the novel coronavirus in more than a dozen classified briefings prepared for President Trump in January and February, months during which he continued to play down the threat, according to current and former U.S. officials.
> For weeks, the PDB — as the report is known — traced the virus’s spread around the globe, made clear that China was suppressing information about the contagion’s transmissibility and lethal toll, and raised the prospect of dire political and economic consequences.
But the alarms appear to have failed to register with the president, who routinely skips reading the PDB and has at times shown little patience for even the oral summary he takes two or three times per week, according to the officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss classified material.
This should be shocking, but it is 100% not a surprise at all.

2:35 PM
He definitely said the thing about disinfectant but I don’t think he meant bleach
I mean it doesn’t matter
but somehow it seems to have turned into bleach rather than hand sanitizer
(Both are idiotic ideas)

@Stormblessed because i think people are reminded of people suggesting you could cure autism by drinking bleach
and that insane idiocy is of the same line as injecting disinfectant
well, drinking bleach is easier

I’m not buying lean R Texas
not going to flip this time
maybe 2028

4:45 PM
I am sure it will happen but not for a while

Tim
5:02 PM
I am not sure about this. Some US pundits and media (a Joe Rogan's interview with Tim Pool) accused China for hiding information of virus for several days (3 or 6?) in Jan, and even talked about starting a war.
I learned about the coronavirus outbreak in early Dec when I saw news report that likened its infectiousness to SARS. I learned that the virus was new, requiring more research study, and different people even in the local and central governments of China had conflict opinions on the virus, and some who downplayed the crisis might be either lack of information or have personal interests involved.
US media in Dec did a fantastic job in reporting the disease to the Americans, with an always skeptical view. But now all the news looks like Americans were not prepared because of misinformation from China
Some Americans even vowed to nuke China on their Facebook, which sounds like having fun
This is a bit extreme.
What was the first time when you realized the severity of the virus?

5:27 PM
@Tim Looking at my phone records, I would say Feb 25th.
That's the day I called my dad to say that CNN wasn't overstating it.
Wash your hands often, stay home as much as possible etc etc

Tim
The news that I remember read in early Dec was very sensational, and I spread the news to some people that I knew

I was aware of bad things happening in China, but only vaguely.

Tim
My perception was that Americans knew about the virus but didn't care much because it didn't happen in US

Maybe by Christmas

Tim
"sensational" in the same way in most US news report about China

5:33 PM
I wouldn't say I didn't care, only that I didn't suspect that it would be catastrophic.

Tim
Thanks. I am a bit worried about the rising nationalism in US

There's plenty to worry about on that count.
It has long since reached critical mass.
It's a bigger concern for me than the virus.
The country will survive the virus.

5:58 PM
@Tim I don't think I really cared about it until there was a case in my state, around late January
However, I don't think I was really all that concerned until stuff happened like schools closing and then a lockdown. I still went to a big event around March 1
I was kind of concerned there, especially because there were a bunch of people wearing masks
I heard about it in December
@Jolenealaska there is definitely going to be a recession in my opinion
Mitch McConnell does not seem to understand this, and he is trying to not help states and force them into bankruptcy
and if he keeps the Senate but Biden wins the presidency I doubt he will do really anything

@Stormblessed I definitely agree there

@TimStone I would have expected them to simply hand him a mask without comment, that would have been hard to refuse

@MadScientist Hmm instead they opted to delete the tweet?
So either they didn't tell him (but like, c'mon, it was obvious) or they don't want to embarrass him, which I feel like being that callous already took care of that

7:00 PM
@TimStone One of these things is not like the others...

7:48 PM
> Wilson worried that as workers get tested and are found to be sick, it will scare off other employees from showing up for work
I feel like the arrow of causality is pointing in the wrong direction here...

this mf out here demanding a blood sacrifice so that tyson can stay open
and not lose millions of dollars
won't someone please think of the people who own tyson

> Mr. Wilson is a steadfast supporter of the Sussex County way of life and an unabashed promoter of traditional values

A duel is traditional

read: Mr. Wilson is okay if the largely hispanic and Haitian working populations of those pants up and die

He probably thinks it would be good even

7:56 PM
@RedRiderX That's... yeah. It's like he doesn't understand object permanence - if no tests reveal the presence of the virus, then the virus doesn't exist

No, he understands

He doesn't want to scare the workers away because it would mean the people owning the plants wouldn't get their money and it's okay if the workers die because he considers them non-people because they aren't white

He wants people who are sick to work anyway
Because as long as it's not him who gives a shit he needs boneless skinless chicken breasts to be on sale
So that he can eat them unseasoned, but for cheaper

> Obsessed with impeachment and their enemies and worried about the stock market, the president and his son-in-law scapegoated HHS Secretary Alex Azar, and treated the coronavirus as mostly a political problem as it moved through the country.

8:02 PM
Still reading it, but the part about Trump treating covid-19 as a political problem really resonates with me

McConnell is on the other side of this primary

@Unionhawk You will be shocked that this same person said that the NAACP was "racist against anyone who isn't black" and told a gay marriage advocate she was going to hell because "That's very plain in Romans. I mean, I don't make the rules."

Yeah never apply hanlon's razor to bad people folks

If it's possible to somehow remove flavour from plain chicken, he's probably done it

@TimStone I mean boiled
but that's too dumb

8:05 PM
Horrific flashbacks to gun girl and her boiled chicken and ketchup

@TimStone ?
@TimStone oh dear god

@TimStone OnlyFans is that one site where influencers get paid by fans to post their nudes, right?

gun girl boiled some chicken and ate it with ketchup to own PETA or something one time I don't know she sucks
@Nzall I mean I don't know that I'd say Influencers exactly but otherwise yes this is correct

Well I guess that is a better position than making a documentary about the “sharia police” in Dearborn without ever showing your supposed security or the...uh...sharia police

@TimStone Pence's statement is that because he's regularly tested for COVID-19 (while other people can't get tested at all) it's totally fine for him not to wear a mask, because as VP he doesn't set an example for anyone

8:46 PM
@TimStone It's not like the false negative rate for pre-symptomatic people is apparently ~20% (!) or anything either.

9:00 PM
@TimStone OnlyFans is supposed to have a large presence in the fitness scene, but I could see there being a lot of overlap with other audiences.

Ah, that makes sense

9:56 PM
@TimStone no it doesn't still?
Did jake just pivot to be a fitness guy what is happening

10:15 PM
If the news were not depressing enough already - Closing schools for covid-19 does lifelong harm and widens inequality

10:29 PM
US deaths from Covid now outnumber those from the 12 year Vietnam war.

1 hour later…
11:36 PM
@Unionhawk I mean if we accept that it's not just campeople on OnlyFans it makes marginally more sense

I will accept that it makes more sense
