Three Indiana judges have been suspended for uhhh, well, enjoy the journey that is this tweet

@TimStone and part of that is a flat out lie because he doesn't know how Tariffs work. though if no one in his staff is correcting him i think it's safe to assume that to be president you don't even know how anything works, just make it all up

2:32 AM
@TimStone didn't something like this happen before but with bleach?
@TimStone from what i have heard the shooter attempted suicide and failed

2:51 AM
@Jolenealaska unfortunately 2 have died in hospital now
google says 1 hour ago on the research results which i assume is it 's an hour old or was last edited an hour ago

1 hour later…

Ugh I ducking hate that Twitter and the like let people just so blatantly lie about climate change
This is an emergency and it’s gonna kill us if we don’t change right now.

Apparently people are actively killing themselves in Turkey with cyanide.
third mass suicide this week.
Reason? Financial issues.
here's a link to an older one, in english. It's about one of them, but it mentions another on the last paragraph. dailysabah.com/investigations/2019/11/09/…
and here's one from today, in turkish. mentions all 3 t24.com.tr/haber/…
here's a more in-depth one about the one from today, translated: translate.google.com/…

9:31 AM
god that's horrible
things are really that bad?

@Memor-X I'm personally currently doing okay, but this doesn't go for a lot of people. There's a lot of rapid inflation, and job market is rather bad.

2 hours later…
1:22 PM
Mayor Pete is now doing opt-out endorsements which is uhhhhh a thing, I guess

That's... uhm... interesting

2 hours later…
3:39 PM
@TimStone I mean, it sounds like people signed on for a blanket endorsement of his stuff, and his campaign is giving them an option to opt out of any individual endorsements
That's how I read it, anyway

> Syria’s Assad Says Jeffrey Epstein Did Not Kill Himself
... okay

So, how are the hearings going? Well, looks a lot like the President just committed a federal crime (witness intimidation) from his twitter account while that witness was testifying on live TV. That tweet was then subsequently read to the witness, who confirmed, on live TV, that it was intimidating and disturbing

slow claps

So, its going fine
Here's the moment if you missed it:
This moment could very well end up in one of the articles of Impeachment

@BradC "I know! Let's do more crimes to cover up the crimes I've already done! Nobody cares if I make it very known that people have to be loyal to me, and me alone."

3:58 PM
@BradC I haaateeeeeeeee twitter videos
I just want to hear the sound. LET ME F*#($&(@*#%&(@#* USE MY COMPUTER
Don't make me keep your window focused

4:20 PM
The impeachment is going to take forever, because they're going to have to keep addressing all of the new crimes he commits during the impeachment proceeding

@murgatroid99 Maybe that's Trump's plan? commit so many crimes they never get around to listing them all for impeachment

@murgatroid99 impeach-ception

@murgatroid99 I'm dying. Thanks for this.

At some point, you'd just have to call it and go, "Look, guys, they keep happening. We literally could keep going to the heat death of the universe. We're just gonna call it here and use future actions as reinforcement that it's the right decision."

@TimStone hue

@TimStone /r/BrandNewSentence

I follow a bunch of constitutional law experts on Twitter. All of them just shouted that Roger Stone was found guilty on all counts

5:06 PM
@Nzall lolololololol

@TimStone some of them were actually cheering and using fireworks emoji

Trump associate Roger Stone found guilty of lying to Congress

On all seven counts, I hear.
I wonder how long the sentence will be.

So, that transcript of the earlier Trump/Zalinsky call the White House released earlier this morning, and that Nunes read into the record during his opening statement?
> There is a notable omission.
Trump never mentions corruption, despite an official White House readout distributed at the time saying Trump expressed a commitment to working together to "root out corruption."
Not to mention, "I had a different phone call in which I didn't commit a crime" isn't particularly... exculpatory
(President Trump, if you're reading this chat room, ask Pelosi what "exculpatory" means)

6:19 PM
Fuck literally everyone who works at this company
> Wernecke left his previous job at an event company in Boston, where he had worked for more than three years, to join Eventique in June. A week after he was hired, Wernecke’s coworkers commented on his “girly” engagement ring. When a co-worker asked if his wife wore a similar ring, Wernecke replied that his partner, Evan, did.
> In the interim months, the complaint alleges, Wernecke was ostracized and excluded from professional meetings and office social events, passed over for assignments with large commissions and subject to discriminatory remarks.
> The alleged discrimination took a toll on Wernecke’s mental health, forcing him to book an appointment with a psychiatrist in August for the first time in his life, the document says, and he began taking anti-depressant and anti-anxiety medication to cope with the situation.

@Wipqozn Wait so they're admitting to discriminating against women too?

> “I couldn't sleep at night thinking that you were being paid so much more than the other females in the office,” David told Wernecke, according to the complaint.
@TimStone Sounds like it
Like, a lot. They cut his salary
> Eventually, David called Wernecke into his office to tell him his salary was being cut from the $145,000 that was initially agreed upon to $70,000.
> Not long after, Wernecke discovered that David had lowered his salary even more, to $58,000 or 40 percent less than the starting salary he was promised when he left his former job, the lawsuit says
Maybe they'll get several more lawsuits

7:12 PM
@Wipqozn wow, talk about a serious pay cut

:females:

1 hour later…
8:25 PM
@Wipqozn The stupid part is, without a contract, this is perfectly legal in the US.
You can't retroactively change pay for time worked, but continuing to work after being informed your pay is being reduced is implicit acceptance of the cut.

@Frank Unless accompanied by "I'm lowering your pay because you're gay" (which is a protected class in certain jurisdictions)

@BradC Fair enough. If there's more than hearsay to go off of.

@Frank nope, hearsay might be enough, plus the pattern of behavior.

An employment lawyer is probably drooling to take his case.

8:39 PM
Missed that. Generally don't read articles at work.

Blatant math error, though. The article states:
> Eventually, David called Wernecke into his office to tell him his salary was being cut from the $145,000 that was initially agreed upon to $70,000.
> Not long after, Wernecke discovered that David had lowered his salary even more, to $58,000 or 40 percent less than the starting salary he was promised when he left his former job, the lawsuit says.
58k is not 40 percent less than $145k

It's probably 40%, period.

Its 40 percent of $145k
or 60 percent less
Yep. Unclear whether the error is in the NBC article or in the suit; the article doesn't have a link to the filiing
Found the filing, looks like its an error in the article
The filing says "abruptly reduced his salary to less than 50% of the bargained for and agreed upon salary..."

@Wipqozn Ugh, what the fuck

Yeah, they're pretty f'ed. Lots of detail and documentation of things said or done visibly in the office in earshot of other employees.

8:52 PM

Also, this is NY, subject to the anti-discrimination laws of NY State and NY City, not relying on federal

By the time this is all over, the company is going to be quite a bit poorer, and or owned by this guy.

It was more than just the manager himself; the other employees were being explicitly encouraged by the manager to exclude the gay coworker, in meetings, in social gatherings, etc.

"That uh John Solomon guy seems kind of bad, it's pretty messed up someone let him write those articles" taps earpiece "…Ah"

9:15 PM
> Most recently, at least three people have come forward with new testimony regarding Ms. Stites’s fiancé, Jimmy Fennell. Mr. Fennell is a former police officer who was released from prison in 2018; he pleaded guilty in 2008 to kidnapping a woman he had encountered while on duty. The woman said he had also raped her.
Problem is, this is still up to Gov. Abbott, noted terrible person.

> The eerie glow indicated that pigment in his irises had sloughed off, allowing light to pass through.
ugh, petition to ban the word 'slough' from the english language

reports from Bolivian trade unionists on the ground appears to indicate that anti-coup forces seem to be succeeding

11:53 PM
Anyway we definitely shouldn't take the ousted Ambassador's concerns for her safety seriously in light of the President just pardoning people who say nice things about him but also do checks notes Actual War Crimes, so
