A horse was neglected by its owner. Now the horse is suing. https://wapo.st/2B8hE0e
this is weird but has a certain logic to it
> In New York courts, a group called the Nonhuman Rights Project has for several years sought writs of habeas corpus for captive chimpanzees, arguing that they are “legal persons” — a term that can apply to corporations and ships — and have a right to freedom.
surely animals are more humanlike than corporations and ships

@GodEmperorDune ummm... how?

> Their argument goes like this: While some state cruelty laws were written to protect animal owners or public morals, Oregon’s anti-cruelty law makes plain it is intended to protect animals, which it calls “sentient beings.” What’s more, state courts have ruled that animals can be considered individual victims. And because victims have the right to sue their abusers, the lawsuit says, Justice should be able to sue his former owner.
> “This whole idea of somebody who has been injured by the acts of another and not being able to speak for themselves in court, so having an adult human do it for them, this is not new,” Hanneken said. “Children are allowed to bring lawsuits, because we recognize that children have interests that laws protect.”

@GodEmperorDune lol a significant departure for the "we can repossess your dog" take

@GodEmperorDune oh. Still, it would be interesting to see a horse trying to explain how it was abused....
But the whole situation sounds kinda silly.

@TheMattbat999 oh it definitely is

12:30 AM
@GodEmperorDune because, well animals really aren't as intelegent as us, and surely the horse would even know what is going on.

Honestly I'm not sure that I don't buy it because this explanation is, in fact, sufficiently stupid enough to be true
But also whynotboth.gif

I do need to keep the how much of their fundraising is medical vs 1) gofundme total and 2) countrywide total though
That's probably an absolutely horrifying number
but I don't have it on hand

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Meanwhile in #KSGOV, GOP GOv. Jeff Colyer has just conceded ultra-tight primary to Secretary of State Kris Kobach rather than go through recount.
Cancel this show, this is garbage now

> now

Look I just wanted them to get into a fist-fight okay

Just offer a hundred thousand dollars to charity if they do and when they don't ask them why they hate children

He's even going to endorse Kobach, this is just lame
Well, sorry Kansas gl

1:35 AM
@TimStone you can have a house but still be poor tho
@TimStone tbh they probably didn't have the money to recount it given how much their economy was rekt
CA pals, take the time to read this. "...the Trump administration Wednesday took a first step toward opening 1.6 million acres of California public land to fracking and conventional oil drilling, triggering alarm bells among environmentalists" https://www.sacbee.com/latest-news/article216322295.html#storylink=cpy
ಠ_ಠ

lol Al Gore was like "Hmm Trump hasn't messed up the environment that badly compared to the norm" the other day
@GodEmperorDune I mean you can but also everything else about that story lol
Rudy is now telling @ChrisCuomo that Comey should have reported Trump for attempting the crime of trying to fix Flynn’s case, But it wasn’t really a crime, because Trump never said it, but if he did Comey is guilty of a crime for not reporting the attempted crime. This is crazy.
I didn't even watch it and just imagining that makes my head hurt

@TimStone oh yeah, wow
@TimStone u wot m8

@TimStone I was going to ask if this meant that Giuliani was obligated to report Trump's crimes, and then I remember that he's been surprisingly good at incriminating Trump on live TV

Gotta cover all the bases

Ahhh that classic defamation where you actually just did the thing

@TimStone bruh get in the seaaaaaaaaaaaaa

lol his defense is basically "Why did you ask those other women about different bad things I've done, that has nothing to do with what I did in this similar instance!"

iron stache won the primary
hopefully he wins the general too

lmao the teen got like 8% of the primary vote

@TimStone vermont is a helluva drug

2:16 AM
With 55% of vote counted, Wisconsin white supremacist Paul Nehlen has 3,666 votes for GOP nomination for Paul Ryan's congressional seat. I suppose he could get over 5k when all votes counted. He can't win, of course, & many who voted for him didn't know who he was, but still sad.
This is all true but the real story is how the second place candidate missed out on the win by one letter

2:36 AM

@Unionhawk oh no, what did they do?
Told this visitor in Yellowstone to get away from the bison yesterday. She said no. I reminded her she was too close, and then pointed out that bison can run over 30 miles an hour. She told me that was fake news.

@Staravia 🤔

@TimStone wat

Gosh darn it

WHY AM I IN THIS ROOM AT ALL

lol

3:04 PM
@GodEmperorDune racism won't be solved until society is at this point
is essentially the take

The caucasity

@TimStone Honestly stuff like this is what makes me understand why @Unionhawk has such a strong disdain for the police

@GodEmperorDune Imagine you were a Breitbart person and went to the gym owned by a hypothetical-quote "terrific black guy" and heard a rap song and went "HMM WELL IF I'M HEARING THIS AT THE GYM, it's time for a national conversation about the use of this word!"

@Wipqozn I'm mostly trying to consider what the actual scale of four tons of shredding is right now
like what

3:07 PM
@TimStone or if you got your marching orders that you had to figure out a way to dampen the fallout for tapes of the president dropping n bombs

@GodEmperorDune My signature is constantly different

TBH his base is just gonna love it if the tapes come out

Especially if you were to look at a document signed before I started working in the receiving dock for a summer where I was signing stuff constantly

@Unionhawk Paper isn't light and large orgs like the LAPD usually have contracts with secure disposal companies to take care of their documents for them.
A few truckloads maybe?

Right, but like, how many complaints does four tons translate to

3:11 PM
The LAPD is massive.

over how many years

Oh oh, surely so so many

I GUESS WE'LL NEVER KNOW NOW

Allllll of the complaints

@GodEmperorDune Thank goodness, that's dumb as hell
@Wipqozn But @Wipqozn, '“We’re kind of at the table trying to work with them, not because of the validity of their arguments but because we’re watching this movement create some hostility in our communities,” Harris said. “The profession of law enforcement is under siege.”'
He's literally responding to video of police using excessive force
"IT'S NOT VALID THAT THAT STUFF ON VIDEO WHICH ACTUALLY HAPPENED REFLECTS POORLY ON US"

3:19 PM
@TimStone This is pretty much the core of the problem with the American police force

accountability is a direct attack on the profession of law enforcement
yep

Like not to be all 'hey guys look at Canada!' but when incidents happen with police the RCMP / local police actually try to address the core issues or discipline officers instead of doing nothing

This feels like a fairly common tactic, the police union doesn't get exactly everything they want including like, permission to do broken windows or edit body cam footage or whatever, and then they whine about it publicly for cheap play on fox

One officer has even being convicted of murder before since it was determined he used deadly force when it wasn't warranted, against a man yielding a knife
Christ American police shoot someone literally laying on the ground and nothing happens
I'm sure Canadian police sweep stuff under the rug too, but in America it seems to be all that happens

I forget the exact numbers but since like 2005 there have been somewhere on the order of a hundred officers charged in deadly force cases, and around 30 of those 100 convicted

3:24 PM
It's compl insane. It's the kind of behaviour you'd expect to hear in soviet Russia with the KGB

well you see, if we made it so the standard for acceptable use of lethal force was "necessary" rather than "reasonable", then they might actually have to practice deescalation, and, be trained in handling people having mental health crises
and that's a lot of work

@Unionhawk that is an accurate statement

(that one isn't a hypothetical, it's currently being talked about in CA assembly)
(and it would be a good change! and it would put the actual standard in line with what I think a lot of people just assume it already is)

3:54 PM
@Unionhawk its what I assumed it already was
Police should never escalate a situation

Our Country was built on Tariffs, and Tariffs are now leading us to great new Trade Deals - as opposed to the horrible and unfair Trade Deals that I inherited as your President. Other Countries should not be allowed to come in and steal the wealth of our great U.S.A. No longer!

@TimStone Only Trump should be allowed to come in and steal the wealth of our great USA, right?!

@TimStone Meanwhile the American company Apple is the richest company in the world

@TimStone we haven't done any trade deals tho

4:01 PM
@Wipqozn If only they could afford pricier headquarters...

@Wipqozn It's just regular professional liability type standards ("a reasonable person of that profession thinks the defendant acted reasonably in that scenario")
Which is pretty fine for negative liability (dive instructor acted within PADI standards and did everything they were trained to do but still experienced a casualty on their watch), but I don't personally think that translates as well to policing

security guards at Google & Facebook finally won their union contract yesterday! https://gizmodo.com/after-five-years-of-fighting-google-and-facebook-secur-1828304237

fuck yeah
(also yes I know a lot about pro liability stuff because we had an entire day on it as part of divemaster stuff)

@Unionhawk I think it would if the police were better trained and could actually provide a proper judgement as to what's 'reasonable'

4:16 PM
@GodEmperorDune I'm still trying to parse the part about the US being built on tariffs like it's a useful point to make in this context

@TimStone i mean it funded the govt before taxes but the us was literally built more by slaves than tarriffs
and i hope no one is suggesting we go back to that

@GodEmperorDune Doesn't matter because MAGA

Like we used tariffs on account of being broke af and have moved away from them for the last century because it's dumb

@Wipqozn It's also a slightly weird comparison because "intentionally cause the injury of a dive student" isn't anywhere near within-standards for a dive instructor, but it's sometimes a fact of what has to be done for police

@GodEmperorDune Hahahaha
Oh, you know someone is

4:23 PM
@SaintWacko sadly, yeah :/

yeah number spoofing is a thing which is why it is shitty 2FA

Oh yeah, its a hot mess

user15026
And I don't understand why companies are just like shrug emoji over it

@Ash but muh profitsssssssssssssssssss
@Unionhawk hell yeah

@TimStone Not to defend the phone companies, but if you handle millions of dollars there should be a much stronger 2FA solution in place than SMS

@GodEmperorDune it's a really good article on why white supremacy works in favor of the boss class
as an additional verse of solidarity forever puts it, "they divide us by our color; they divide us by our tongue / they divide us men and women; they divide us old and young / but they'll tremble at our voices, when they hear these verses sung / for the union makes us strong!"

dammit ben carson

4:34 PM
he's a 70 year old racist man from new york let's honestly just move on because the answer is definitely yes

oh shit i didn't read that whole tweet

@MadScientist Agree on that front too
Financial Times journalists are used to investigating the excessive pay of chief executives. So they turned on their own boss and shamed him into returning half a million quid. https://www.theguardian.com/media/2018/aug/15/financial-times-boss-returns-pay-rise-after-staff-backlash?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
lol rekt

I'm still waiting on U2F support for anything other than Google and Github

@MadScientist Yeaaaah, sigh. It'd be nice if iOS NFC supported it too, to encourage adoption :|

4:38 PM
@TimStone I don't have an NFC version yet, I'm waiting for a FIDO2 token with NFC. And I'm still looking for a password manager that can be configured to only work with U2F NFC on an Android phone, as I don't really trust my phone enough to put the password manager on there without something like this

how is U2F better than something like google authenticator app on the phone?

@GodEmperorDune It's immune to fishing, and much faster than opening an app and typing the numbers

4:54 PM
@MadScientist mm yeah, not sure when those will be rolling out
ಠ_ಠ

@TimStone wut

Yeah, they're just rambling about more job stuff, but uhhh. For some reason Ivanka pointed out that Mexico invests more in both private and public sector employees, which lol
@GodEmperorDune Also, "Giuliani threatens to "unload" on Mueller if he doesn't finish up the Russian investigation soon"

@TimStone uhhhhhhhhh rudy i don't think that means what you think it means
"if you don't list all the crimes, then i will"

5:11 PM
@TimStone aka: Stop gathering evidence and end the investigation before midterms
@GodEmperorDune This administration is really good at drumming up unimportant controversy to distract from the real issues

@SaintWacko its a shotgun of bullshit

this fucking baker

No way, lol

5:47 PM
this guy is also a piece of work
> Brittain's lawsuit, of course, cites the Packingham decision that a bunch of people have been misrepresenting to claim that it says social media can be considered a public forum. Brittain combines his misrepresentation of that opinion with a misrepresentation of the recent decision that President Trump cannot block followers, in order to claim that Twitter can't kick off any political candidate.

@GodEmperorDune This is just a masterclass in being the biggest asshole alive, my word

@TimStone p much

@GodEmperorDune this is garbage people being garbage and I just

Make the cake

5:53 PM
@Ash different colored inside and outside cake is actually a great idea for a trans theme and imma steal it if i need to order such a cake

user15026
I think that's a great way to do the thing, but I just like surprise inside cakes

well there is good surprise and bad surprise and this falls into good surprise i think
bad surprise is like frosting on a melon as a "fake cake" which is a waste of good melon

user15026
@GodEmperorDune I read this whole thing and am like "this dude makes no sense"

I like that based purely on a narrow ruling this dude thinks he can go challenge the entirety of the anti-discrimination law

user15026
@GodEmperorDune yesh, that is much bad

5:56 PM
@Ash yep that seems to be the gist of it

@TimStone so did the DOJ

@TimStone i mean it's more of a "christian groups got a win on an LGBT discrimination thing so they are trying for more"

@GodEmperorDune Wait he's actually just in "read-only" mode, the dumbest possible thing here that I didn't even know Twitter had?

@TimStone lololol

is that like a step prior to lock what

5:58 PM

@GodEmperorDune He didn't even get the win on that though, he got the win on someone in the commission running their mouth, it's just insane

there's a "only visible to followers" type level

does anyone want to place bets on if twitter coded this up just for jones

@Unionhawk He can't do anything, but he can browse and look at his menchies

@TimStone not according to fox news hype tho

6:02 PM
@GodEmperorDune Oh they 100% did, that was my first thought
With Jack going "HMMMM BUT CAN WE USE TECHNOLOGY TO FIX THIS?"

no

You say no now but you'll be wishing you had said yes later when there's no algorithm to blame like the outcome was inevitable and not a function of the hastily slapped together requirements

@puzzlepiece87 That's excellent. I wish American news corporations could figure this out

@SaintWacko To be honest, though I love the approach and results, it couldn't happen here.

@puzzlepiece87 Oh?

@puzzlepiece87 it's a pretty good idea, but certainly not the typical approach

@SaintWacko Party leaders and members largely stick to stations that are known to be friendly to them, and constituents really believe the whole biased media thing.

6:24 PM
@puzzlepiece87 Oh. Yeah, those cause issues

@MadScientist , you're in Germany, right? Would you say Germans generally trust the media as an institution and that ZFD is regarded as fairly neutral?
@SaintWacko , waiting for more local input, but American trust in the media as an institution is notably low and the most watched TV news shows are regarded as partisan.

@puzzlepiece87 Mostly yes. ZDF is one of the two big public broadcasters like BBC in the UK

@MadScientist Thanks for this input!

the AfD people wouldn't consider them trustworthy though ;-)

Hahahaha, clearly not :D

6:27 PM
@puzzlepiece87 That's a really good point. The only station that right wingers watch is incredibly biased, and the right wing viewpoint is so skewed that they see any balanced station as far left

Yeah, so it would be challenging to do the same thing in the US, though I do wish that the New York Times, for example, would do this more. Since they insist on portraying both sides, it would be nice to show either party's weaknesses on substance on topics away from their wheelhouse.

the AfD revived the "Lügenpresse" term, which is essentially "fake news" in German

let me borrow that word?
*stamps Made in America on it*
Here, you can have it back.

1 hour later…
user15026
@puzzlepiece87 I was just about to quote that because yes

8:22 PM
@puzzlepiece87 i hate to well actually you (and hitler did copy a lot of american stuff like eugenics for the worst parts of nazism) but pretty sure lugenpresse came out of germany first in the 1930s
@puzzlepiece87 abolish ice and prosecute everyone involved

@GodEmperorDune Haha, please do, it was a lame joke and you added to it with #WellActually :)

@Wipqozn I am curious what day they will choose and which provinces will agree to it as a stat

user15026
8:28 PM
(I still think it's odd that we don't have Remembrance day as a stat in Ontario)

@TimStone uhhhhhh dafuq

@TimStone ChEcKs AnD bAlAnCeS

@Wipqozn its good to see them owning up to it
i'm sure doug ford will try to ruin it somehow anyway

Warner said revoking John Brennan’s clearance is an effort to “distract” the American public and called it an “eerie memory of an enemy’s list” and said that it “smacks of Nixonian types of practices.” He said he believed Mueller’s team’s clearances could be next
So they did that, apparently?

i would love to see a similar thing in the future as the US govt owns up to fucking up all the kids at the border but i am deeply skeptical as we still have people denying that slavery was bad or that the civil war was about slavery
@TimStone yep, and forgot to fix the date on the press release (it said july 26th or somesuch)

8:38 PM
lol

truly the best people

A one-off joke I saw earlier today: "It's kinda funny how of all the people that have been secretly recording Trump, the one person who didn't was Obama."
@GodEmperorDune Hmm... I should probably go read the full article because it feels like declaring a federal holiday sends a weird message.

@Yuuki yeah the article is actually good and informative. must be a canadian thing

I'd say the biggest good thing about this is that the government appears to be seriously listening to the First Nations community regarding the timing/schedule of the federal holiday.
So I hope that means it's not just a PR stunt.

that they are moving forward with it at all is also a good thing

@GodEmperorDune Canadian government has been taking lots of steps in recent years to try and make up for the terrible shit the country has done to Indigenous peoples
It really ramped up near the end of Harpers reign I think, but I could be wrong
One thing Canada has been good for in the past ~20 years I'd say is owning up to it's shit past. I definitely remember in school that Canada's history isn't all sunshine and rainbows.

Twitter is "experimenting with features that would promote alternative viewpoints in Twitter’s timeline to address misinformation and reduce 'echo chambers.'" https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2018/08/15/jack-dorsey-says-hes-rethinking-core-how-twitter-works/?utm_term=.ad678fc0d621
tbh i never knew @jack had such a punchable face
anway this is good in theory, but it also depends what "alternative viewpoints" means, i really don't want to see some climate denialist nonsense around climate change scientist tweets, for example

10:14 PM
I think the problem is that the way to prevent echo chambers is curation. People naturally gravitate towards like-minded individuals, it's basically the entire history of humankind. And the issue with curation is two-fold. One, it takes a lot of work to minimize bias on the part of the curators. Two, curation means entities like Facebook or Twitter are more akin to content production rather than a platform, something they've been strenuously pursuing to avoid various litigation and obligations.
Facebook really wants to convince you that it's a medium and not a producer.

I think that the only real way to prevent echo chambers is to not allow people to choose who they interact with.
Curation might restrict which echo chambers form within a platform, but they won't eliminate them

The campaign chair for Sen. Bob Menendez — the NJ Democrat who evaded flagrant corruption charges thanks for the Supreme Court’s 2016 narrowing of anti-bribery laws — is a lobbyist working for a gas pipeline company proposing a project *in NJ.* Unreal. http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2018/08/menendez_campaign_manager_lobbies_for_clients_that.html
🤷🏼‍♂️
He really should have just gotten in the sea

@TimStone yep, and take keith ellison too

10:34 PM
What do you guys think? Would this be a good step in dealing with wealth inequality?

On Periscope, which is owned by Twitter, Alex Jones tells supporters to get their “battle rifles” ready against antifa, the mainstream media, and “Chicom operatives” http://mm4a.org/ZvB https://t.co/ntQbh9IKxz
Ah, it seems they did not make him read-only on Periscope

@murgatroid99 its a long read, but checking it out
@TimStone this is what got him readonly on twitter
unless he did it again
@murgatroid99 so if you make too much money you are forced to be a B corp? is that the gist of it?
> More concretely, United States Corporations would be required to allow their workers to elect 40 percent of the membership of their board of directors.
this i like

@GodEmperorDune ahh, okay, I didn't follow closely enough

@GodEmperorDune Also, a bit further down: "The other proposal is to require corporate political activity to be authorized specifically by both 75 percent of shareholders and 75 percent of board members"

iirc some european companies have this requirement on all companies, that X% on the board must be labor reps
@murgatroid99 this i am more squishy on as far as it incentivizes status quo

10:42 PM
@murgatroid99 Hm, possibly. It seems like just closing tax loopholes and requiring political donation transparency and/or disallowing corporate donations would be easier than some new thing, but maybe not

maybe the full text of the bill has a better definition of what is "corporate political activity"
is that lobbying? donating to super PACs? putting out ads that say "BP is environmentally conscious for cleaning up the mess we made in the gulf of mexico"?

It seems like requiring a large number of votes, including some amount of support from worker representatives, incentivizes not doing it at all, rather than the status quo of large amounts of lobbying and donations

is doing things like trying to improve internal diversity and inclusion things political? because it's started to become partisan
@murgatroid99 ah i meant status quo of society at large but this is a good point as well

We could also just bulldoze Wall Street 🤔

I'm not opposed to increases in workplace democracy, but this is also a half measure in my view

10:47 PM
@GodEmperorDune A significant amount of the article is about companies lobbying to make changes that hurt society as a whole and benefit their own bottom line, so I assume that's the target there

Without true organization of the the 40% voting block, that 75% threshold is met by a little over a third of workers voting with the majority assuming non-worker shareholders are all on board

I have a newfound admiration for the anti-pedophile activist who has protested outside the Vatican embassy in D.C. nearly every day since the late 1990s. The poor guy says he was molested by a priest 60 years ago; I believe him. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/acts-of-faith/wp/2015/09/23/pope-francis-and-the-curious-case-of-washingtons-most-determined-critic-of-the-catholic-church/?utm_term=.98dc6b1fcd0b

I think it could be a step

@murgatroid99 but iirc, most of that is not companies directly sending their money/lobbyists to washington, it's industry groups funded by the corporations pushing for those things

@Unionhawk Depends on who can vote for the shareholders, if you have to get votes from the actual holders nothing will ever get approved, lol

10:52 PM
@TimStone right it does depend on what is quorum too, this is true

People with IRAs and the like getting random shit in the mail they just trash

nobody fuckin votes their proxy

@TimStone That's great he believes him, but did he not believe him before?

@TimStone lol i get those proxy snailmails all the damn time

The recent controversy with the Catholic church is indeed terrible, but I feel like I've known this has been going on since High school.
It's been well known and accepted the church had a huge problem with priests molesting children

10:53 PM
@Wipqozn i think it's a matter of "having the receipts" as the kids say these days

@Wipqozn Yeah that was kind of an odd aside but

yeah we knew it was a problem but proof was being suppressed and nothing was being investigated

Oh I realised who the tweeter was, lol

@GodEmperorDune I'm literally referring just to the fact this tweeter didn't seem to believe this man before this incident

I had to go back and check out how he got in my TL shakes fist at Jake Tapper, 0 for like 10 lately buddy

10:55 PM
thoughts and prayers to the fallen camera

@Wipqozn oh i didn't realize about that

@GodEmperorDune Yeah his wording makes it sound like he didn't believe him before and just though the was lying
"a new found admiration" makes it sound like before he thought the guy was making it all up

well in any case, #believevictims

Ultimately though I turn to the first paragraph of Rosa's Reform or Revolution for the said way better than I ever could version of my take on attempts to shore up the contradictions of capitalism
rome wasn't burned down in a day

@Wipqozn tbh having realised who this is that's probably the case
You are going to want to read down to the part where Kellyanne Conway gives @bterris a quote, then instructs him to say it came from someone else, then pretends nobody said it at all. https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/she-works-for-trump-he-cant-stand-him-this-is-life-with-kellyanne-and-george-conway/2018/08/15/3b89b82a-9b46-11e8-843b-36e177f3081c_story.html?utm_term=.129e535c862a
I wanted to not care about this but it's just so off the rails
Employers are so offended by the term wage theft that they have written a submission to a QLD Government underpayment inquiry demanding that it no longer be used
lmao

11:04 PM
Also Rosa is really good and she just roasts dudes constantly

Like maybe just double-check you're paying the right wages then idk

"this one dude said that the goal doesn't matter only the movement, here's why that's bullshit and he's stupid"
(with the benefit of hindsight his takes like "we haven't had a crisis in a while it seems fixed" sure did pan out lol)

11:33 PM
Millennials are being blamed for a fall in potato sales https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/food-and-drink/millennials-potato-sales-falling-rice-noodles-carbohydrates-grocer-a8490746.html?utm_term=Autofeed&utm_campaign=Echobox&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1534276324
lmao y'all putting beans on that potato get out of here

user15026
That does strike me as a weird combo

user15026
Also, I like how it's always our fault that stuff doesnt' sell

user15026
Also, I like that "exotic" means rice and flavoured noodles.

@TimStone not enough Millennials are watching Attack on Titan

user15026
(also, I just bought a 10lb bag of potatoes this week, I am doing my part.)

user15026
11:40 PM
(I bought that because it was a dollar cheaper than the 5lb bag)

I mean I got sold a 20 piece nuggets instead of a 10 the other day because it was only $.70 more so ten pounds of potatoes is way better
Also potatoes rule
Wyd adults under 40
(possibly buying less groceries overall)

user15026
I do that with milk, too, 4L is usually like 10-25 cents cheaper than 2L

user15026
so even if I waste one bag, I still win

user15026
(4L is three bags, 2L is a carton)

11:57 PM
lol I didn't see "Also, potatoes typically take longer to prepare, which is inconvenient for millennials, who are obviously impatient by nature" and had to make sure it wasn't satire
