James Fields starts state trial on Monday, where he faces 10 charges (first degree murder, 3 aggravated malicious wounding, 5 malicious wounding, and leaving the scene of a fatal crash)

None of these charges are considered hate crimes, and the maximum penalty is life

He also faces 30 federal charges including 29 hate crimes

Evidence shows that Fields actually stopped and backed up, then paused before accelerating down the road into the crowd. The state will argue that this pause constitutes premeditation.

Wow, I love America. I love that an insurance company can agree that I needed to be treated at a hospital but disagree w/ my doctors & believe that they know more about my pain than me & will not cover it b/c they think my pain levels should have not been as high as they were.
