@Ael I'm not sure, but I think a significant part of those 15 are related to situations like this, where people re-asked their question instead of editing it.
Surprisingly enough though, other sites do close more than use: Chemistry (54%), Network Engineering (65%), Stack Overflow em Português is not far with 49%, Hardware Recommendations (53%)
So, we are apparently the 4th site that close the most
@Ael I'm hoping we can get down to 40 percent closed next year, and not because no one is casting close votes anymore :P
Hopefully the help center edits will do a bit. There's also this, I'm hoping to start drafting there after the help center and good question faq are done :D
@Ael I think only the 'welcome modal' is for new users and first questions (maybe second too, as long as they still have the 'new contributor' indicator and ask two questions in a short time?) ...
No worries :) I am supposed to work too, but the daily standup is rather boring at times ;)
Our team has grown 'too big' and now there's people working on a totally different product too, and their 'news' is, like today, often very irrelevant :P
@avazula Yeah. It seems that I have back pain so I can only work lying down. So working from the office is a big no for me and I will fight to be allowed to keep working from home. I would rather be fired than having to go back to working in the office
@Tinkeringbell Ah yeah, it gets really boring when people talk about stuff you have no interest in. I have that every morning basically >< (I am one-person team but I do my daily with other people and most of the time I don't even understand what they are saying)
(Netherlands is still debating a curfew... can't just do stuff here, you have to get everyone to agree with it. Hopefully there'll be a verdict tomorrow ;) )
@Ael I feel you. I've been having pain crises these last days, I'm currently working while lying down on the floor cause that's the least painful position for me to be in because of my legs
@avazula While you go see a doctor for your pain? I know you had those for a long time now, but I don't think it's normal (also, maybe you have fibromyalgia? )
I believe it's just a side effect of my general condition .. I'm always more or less in pain because of my high sensitivity to touch and the pain increases with tiredness... and it's been a while since I last got a decent night of sleep :p
Just don't sport for a few hours before you go to sleep (can't remember if it was 2 or 3...) because that way your body will be flooded with hormones that prevent sleep, apparently ....
Though I wouldn't mind yelling at my phone who keep crashing will I am writing stuff >< (and then I have to write it again and hope it won't crash this time)
I have manager problems. This particular one keeps 'whatiffing' stuff. There's some pretty serious problems and troubleshooting, and he keeps interrupting stuff with random whatifs that only complicate the conversation and draw it in a totally different direction :/
After pointing that out twice and him just continuing, even other coworkers started saying 'are you even listening'
Honestly, I think I should try speaking Russian or Chinese at the guy and see if that's more effective/understood.
So, "I've tried reminding her how much she always hates the result," but you need a way to tell her that you too hate the results? And still want to remain friends? — Yosef Baskin2 mins ago
People like that are annoying. But that's also why I like written communication better, if someone is not listening to what you said, you can copy-paste it and then they hopefully listen or just shut up
I have been in a happy relationship for the past year (yes, even with the pandemic going on), but now I have been accepted in a PhD program in a far away country, which is expected to start around April.
We have talked about this, and decided that a long-distance relationship wouldn't work for us...
As we say goodbye to the old year and welcome the new one, we have a tradition of sharing moderation stats for the past 12 months.
As most of you here are aware, sites on the Stack Exchange network are moderated somewhat differently to other sites on the web:
We designed the Stack Exchange netw...
My 5 year old son told me to tell mama that she is on phone all of tim. which she is either talking to relatives back in homeland or in other city. She has been very less patient with our 10 months old son as he is too much active and sleep less. Even we have been on collision course about her fr...
