@CaldeiraG I think the biggest difference here is that there's an explicit mention of them wanting to remain friends while most of the other question leaves that vague and many answers assume she might in fact not want to.
The top answer there talks about having an honest talk about the romantic interest, while crazyfoo already had that talk
