I felt it was my duty to read the answers over here (after all, I was the one who made the edit so that the post will get reopen). But maybe I shouldn't have read all this. I'm heartbroken right now :'(
@avazula And the worst part is most people aren't usually that bad... They can be the racist aunt that knows not to make off-color jokes at the Thanksgiving meal in order to keep the peace, but then the cook decides they have to eat foreign food instead of a proper turkey and all goes wrong...
(and never will be)
I'm on the autism spectrum and often feel overwhelmingly fatigued and tired. My mother, on the other hand, has a lot of energy and is always doing a million things.
From time to time, my mother will complain that:
You never do anything with me!
(she might also complain...
there probably is, but the basis of my (planned) answer is more advice than personal backup... maybe i can think about a way to tie it to something in between talking to grumpy suppliers lol
I've left a comment on the question first. If the OP clarifies, we can see how to proceed with the answer. Right now I'd suggest to leave it, it's strong but not rude...
So, I'm supposed to write a presentation today (which is not fun. Writing code is fun, writing presentation is not). So far, I have successfully prograstinated for more than 45 minutes ><
break it up into small chunks! just name the different slides as your talking points, then once your structure is in place its a lot easier to work around it
I think my issue is more with the fact that my manager seems to know exactly what they want me do to but I don't know exactly what they want me to do ><
I'm too afraid that they would be angry at me for not knowing to ask. I should probably do a first draft and then ask for feedback (my manager tend to be really busy and don't really have time to waste for something that is supposed to be so trivial :/ )
I'm a little late today, had to pick up my driver's license :D
Feedback on this comment?
Hello there, you may know from other questions that this question has little to no information about your problem. "Should I" questions are also off-topic here as they attract opinion-based answers; we can't tell you what to do. On a next time, if you think you need some feedback on a question (how to write a good question) before publishing into the main site, check out the Sandbox. — CaldeiraG2 mins ago
The user is fairly active on IPS so I thought about the Sandbox :D
i think its unfair to call them active on IPS, they have asked 5 questions, 2 of which were closed and this one which is about to be closed. they have high rep because the other two got decent attention
@CaldeiraG I think it was nice that you linked to the Sandbox. However, I'm not sure about this sentence: "you may know from other questions that this question has little to no information about your problem." -> It feels a bit like "you should have known to ask a better question". I would probably just drop it as it's not really necessary
they strike me as a user who makes questions and doesn't read help centre / meta and won't be bothered by a few closed questions. I would however, love to be proved wrong and see their future questions to be thorough and a good fir for the site
@Ælis I can't edit now but good point there. New users should know how to write good question in the first place. The problem is that the FAQ is never read before asking questions.
It doesn't make me a bad user on SO. I was just making the wrong searches and that's why dupes came alive. I was searching for something that had another name so searching something with the right keywords is hard.
I'm interested in someone romantically, and unfortunately she has a boyfriend. She invited me to a brunch at her house where there will be some of her friends and probably her boyfriend. Would attending just further likely compartmentalize myself as just a friend, or would it make me more appeali...

It’s Daniil from Travel.
My accounts were destroyed by a CM so I had to go.
Please post this message from me on meta:
Hello Travel community, Daniil here. I enjoyed contributing to this site. I am sorry, but I have to go. It’s not my c...
@CaldeiraG It might be better to add some context: meta.stackexchange.com/q/338033/400547 It's about the RGPD and the fact that Daniil is "under age" and living in Europe
@ankii It is, but since Daniil didn't talk about it in their meta on Travel, I feel weird discussing it here anyways. From what I've seen though, underage user deletions are usually only done if there's no case to made for 'plausible deniability'.
i used to be a head moderator of a 2k+ member discord server, if we had word someone was 12 or below (which would violate ToS) we had to ask for proof of age, as discord is very strict about age and could've just deleted our whole server
That does sound strict... so, to make sure I got this correctly: If user A tells you user B is under 12 years of age, you'd have to ask user B to prove their age, not user A for evidence of that claim?
yep. i know it does sound very authoritarian, but the risk to us was server deletion... iirc we only had a small handful of users that were 12 or below and i was effective head mod for ~6 months
what was a much larger issue was banned members coming back on new accounts...
@avazula True but it doesn't mean that Pseudohuman pronouns aren't "she" :p We should probably ask for clarification on that, but I'm not sure Pseudohuman will answer :p
@CaldeiraG If user A says user B is underage, you ask A to flag the post/comment/chat message where B states such for moderator attention. If they can't, there's no evidence :P If they do, escalate to CMs and if there's enough evidence they handle the deleting.
My company places far too much importance on appearance. I don't like the appearance of "Rainbacon's not working" even if it is because of my computer doing an update
Hmm, there are some people doing some sort of construction on the exterior of my office building, and they are right outside of a nearby window. It sounds like they are trying to saw through the wall. Quite distracting while I'm at work
@Rainbacon Well, there was a time on my office where they were drilling holes on the ground next doors and it was LOUD I couldn't even move away from there because I work on a desktop
My favorite VS story is when I had to work in a VM and about once every 2-3 hours VS would just lose track of the debugging symbols, so when I put breakpoints it wouldn't actually stop at them. The only way to fix it was to restart my VM
I vote that we migrate all programming back to the terminal. You can use whatever terminal based text editor you want, but you know that if something breaks it's because you wrote bad code
@Rainbacon hmm that'd require making our application mouse free, which, knowing how we make things, would probably not be a good idea lol but as far as the development portion, I agree completely
I wish I had more time to refactor huge swaths of code that I have to work on for tasks. Instead it feels like I always have to go with the down and dirty option so I can get to the next task :/
Sort of? I'm not thinking of new functionality for users, but more like knowing that new feature X is coming in 3 months, what are things we have to do to prepare for that
@Tinkeringbell Right, and I don't know when and where my question votes came, so I don't know if any of those votes have their rep blocked by me rep capping
How did you both know how much you gain? I believe mine as been recalculated too (and that I have earned around 500 MSE rep) but is there anyway to know for sure how much I gained?
@Ælis So I don't think the link is public, but I can see your previous rep was 5932, and your new rep is 6348... which is a weird 416 point increase...
@scohe001 With 8 questions asked, I gain 416 rep (due to rep cap). Tink gain 400 with 10 questions asked. You have 14 questions asked, so maybe you gained something like 500?
@scohe001 Maybe this comment can help you figure out how much you gained?
@user58 Wow, that's very nice. We are seeing very nice numbers tonight, I like that :D
This frame challenge to my question makes me feel like there isn't any solution to my problem :/ (for several reasons, this answer won't work in my case. Mainly because 1. I don't like to do stuff with my mother and 2. I don't like to talk about my issues and would rather pretend that everything is fine in front of my family)
Also, this answer is very good, you should all take it a look :)
Well, I'm no longer a 14k IPS rep user. Bounties will do that to you :'(
:p

So, apparently, some users on SO have asked more than 2000 questions! I'm very impressed!
@Ælis The first half of it is helpful. The second half pretty much ignores the fact that my friend and I feel out of contact before they transitioned and it suggests that I stopped contact with my friend precisely because they transitioned
