An IPS fellow just shared a post on social media in which a study provides its research results on why neuroatypical people are much more likely to be night owls and prefer a sleep pattern of 2AM-10AM and darn this feels so right! I get so much more accomplished at night!
To be fair, I like the sleep rhythm of 3am-7am most, too... But at one point I forced myself to stop it cause not having enough sleep is stressful. And adding to that not liking to come home from work already late, I changed that from sleeping from 9pm till 4am ^^ But yeah the former felt more natural to me while the latter feels less stressful ^^
@Ælis Well... my ADHD medication has a side effect making me not feel tired nor being able to sleep while in effect. I don't like sleeping as I feel like wasting precious time... So I tend to make use of that side effect more than would be healthy... but thats also part of the reason why I stopped the cycle I had in the past.
@avazula on weekends thats still mine ~3 till ~8 '^.^ But yeah work makes this not possible. For the good or the bad, I am not sure. But since its a given I dont mind evaluating anyways :P
@dhein Right now, I really want to say "lucky you"! My medication is making me sleep more (a full night + two hours in the morning + three hours in the afternoon). I decided to stop it (since this one was only supposed to be temporary anyway) and, hopefully, I might spend less time sleeping today \o/
I'm having a really hard time right now (don't worry, this is overly exaggerated). Someone posted a comment along the line of "Great question!" on MSE and not hitting this "NLN" button is proving to be very difficult ><
@Ælis: Feel free to say that. I can't deny that the side effect is a very handy tool for so many situations. Only burden is, to use this with responsibility, as I know from experience, the medication is so strong... I once took it 2 days without gabs and I still wasn't feeling tired after 2 days without sleep. But that can't be healthy so... yeah. '^.^
@avazula I didn't check first, but, when she gave it to me, she told me to take it "as I need it" (but not more than 3x a day). Plus, I have only taken it for less than a week so I should be fine (and I did take half of one yesterday, "just in case")
Hope you have a better day by doing that... But I can just confirm what ava said. Better get feedback from them, if you just can easily do this with your meds.
@dhein I don't know, people say "MSE is different with comment" and also, I'm afraid it will just give more work to the mods. Plus, I rather keep my flags for actual bad content (because it's easy to run out of flags on MSE these days)
In all honesty, I must say that the way other stack use comments is driving me crazy. I mean, thet have clearly stated rules (same as us) but they aren't following them!!! How am I suppose to know what are the "real" rules then??? I just want rules to follow :'(
@Ælis I had that discussion already many times. Most of the responses I got to that very exact question was "Ask on meta about it." I feel about same as you do, but that might be cause we both are autists. On other stacks the guideline seems more to be like an unwritten social code to follow, when its ok to deviate from the policy and when to stick with it.
Some times I am confrontational and go on meta to vent.... and keep the response I got in mind when calm again and sometimes I just let it go, accepting that my point very likely wouldn't be understood anyways.
@Ælis I understand. Many sites are very free about comments. Some have proper discussions where they allowed some more else to just review and asking clarifications. They did to decrease the impact of VLQ.
@avazula I was, but my wife doesn't want them, and she's spent our entire relationship telling me awful stories about the kids from her school, so I've soured on the idea
@Ælis haha he's 9lbs now! (he was ~5 when we got him 3 months ago) but he won't stop growing until he's 3yrs old, so he's got a loooooong way to go. He'll be big in no time ;) (also, you got his pronouns right :p)

@scohe001 It's a flood. People aren't okay when there is a flood. They are losing their house, their belonging and sometimes their lives. So no, people aren't okay during a flood :/
(I didn't look at the death count, but I know some people did die. Also, people tend to be reported "missing" before they can be count as dead after the flood)

@AlexRobinson It's not a great question, but I think it might be rooted in etiquette enough to be on topic, as for opinion based that's certainly a good argument that could be made

@Rainbacon I click the "decline" button on the email invitation. Then I avoid the topic and when people bring it up I awkwardly respond by "I won't come" (and I sometimes do add that it's because of my tiredness issues)

We have a one to many relationship currently between 2 objects. We are changing that to many to many, where basically there will now be multiple instances of object A pointing to the exact same instances of object B. SA wants us to just duplicate all of the rows on table B in the db for every new instance of object A

We have one called the "Texas Room." So people ask if we're meeting in Texas, which threw me when I first got here. I was saddened to learn we don't have a private jet that'll fly us to other states to meet :(
