Q: How to motivate my lazy partner towards self improvement?

Got chased by a dog while riding home. Turned into a cut through, dog was blocking the path. Backed off, rode away, turn a corner. Hear a sound behind me, look back and see the dog tearing around the corner behind me.

Ride off, yelling at the dog to go home (to no effect). Going too fast, nearly crash into something. Manage to jump up on top of it with the bike, but blow out a tire and go off the other end.

Fall over, skin my knee and rip my pants, with the dog standing over me. Sure I was about to get bitten, but to my surprise wasn't. Lying on the ground, snap a picture of the dog. Stood up, started walking the bike away. Dog follows.

I call my father to come pick me up, tell him the dog is following me. The dog eventually stops following. Put my bike in the car, head home, take pictures of the blown out tire and my knee, send them and the picture of the dog to the dog catcher.

Dog catcher calls, tells us that dog got out of the pound yesterday and that he's now going to try to find it, and then fine the owners. But now I'm still out a pair of pants and an inner tube, and have a torn up knee :/

And as I've mentioned before, finding pants for me is very much not easy:

....why don't they make pants for short people with small waists who want cargo pockets? >.< It's making finding pants very difficult...

Arf :/ I feel lucky I never had to experience stray dog (but I had to experience bike fall and I really hated it every time, especially when my hand get injured)

Yeah, I'll take falling on my bike over being chased by a dog any day. I'm no stranger to having bike accidents. But I was very concerned about getting bitten.

@Mithrandir I feel your pain here. I hate having to find new cloth because it's so difficult. But I'm lucky, my parents are rich enough and my dad offered me tailored trousers + vest for my birthday \o/ (I don't have it yet, but I already described how many pockets I want and every other information that make finding clothes hard for me)

@Mithrandir Were you afraid of some diseases? Or was it "just" the bit?

Mhm.

This town does a really bad job with loose dogs. There are loose dogs everywhere, leaving little presents on the sidewalk and sometimes biting people. They create packs. And the owners always go "oh, no, my dog wouldn't do that!", and the city does not take proactive action to take care of it. They ignore most of the reports they get about the dogs. And frankly, I'm tired of it. I like dogs, but not like this.

This will conclude my rant for the day.

@Ælis I finaly finished my relocation and am back at work today. Had not really any rests so far, BUT I am feeiling great. stress being finaly part of the past :)

DOn't know about your elgal system, but couldn't you sue the owners as soon they are found?

Making you get a nice new pair of pants and your bike being fixed? :)
