Just saying: The "Gay Panic Defense" is a "legal defense". Which means that if you are in court for murder, or assault, you can legally say that you panicked because the victim was gay, and use that as a defense. That doesn't mean that this defense will be successful, it's actually extremly unlikely. It's like saying "I thought he would enjoy being stabbed", which is also a legal defense, and also extremly unlikely to succeed. —
