I don't like it when I wholeheartedly agree with an answer and yet, it's not respecting IPS rules (but the question isn't respecting IPS rules either IMO, so...)
My boyfriend moved into my house with me about a year ago, and for about 9 months we were sleeping in the same bed (the master bedroom). There is a similarly-sized guest bedroom that also has a double bed in it, however, and he started sleeping in that every now and then because I had a personal...
It's the issue with books that are too good. I simply don't want to put them down when it's time for me to go back to work (or time for me to eat/sleep)
"The Murderbot Diaries" by Martha Wells are just that good
@Syralia Oh nothing too fancy, just hanging around there, later some shopping for groceries, take a long walk because of nice warm weather, then worry a little about the looming lockdown due to second wave of microscopic insect, just my usual things ^.^ and you?
Microscoping insects? Fingers crossed for you that they will change their minds eventually about that. I am still in the library working (and continue to produce errors lol) and later going to have an appointment with a physiotherapist
@Syralia Oh nice. Haha yes, I call this thing an insect because many people, including me, are really tired of it, it's an omnipresent topic which you cannot really ignore because it affects our lives so much, I don't want to be a nuisance and I guess it's a way to kind of cheat our brains if I talk about the "insect", the "thing" or the "worm" instead of "covid" :D and about errors, I think it's a normal human thing to produce errors :D
@lila Ah i see, thats actually a pretty goot idea tho. I didnt watch the news for months because I am also tired of it and its everyday pretty much the same
And making myself sad about the ignorance and stupidty of humankind won't make anything better I guess+
@Syralia Haha thanks for appreciation of that idea. And yes, I understand what you are talking about, it is healthy and powerful mentality not to be emotionally invested in things that we cannot control.
@Syralia No I cannot listen to music, etc. during walks, I've tried maybe a few times but just grown up not doing that and anytime I tried to do so it felt uncomfortable and weird, almost as if I was half-blind or something, it made me realize how much I use the sense of hearing. I know it's maybe weird, but I just need to be able to hear things or else I'm anxious.
"I don't want them to get all depressed about it and start thinking about death all the time" Just to take that understandable thought to its logical conclusion: either they've already considered it or they haven't. If they have, then you asking about it isn't going to introduce something new and unexpected. If they haven't, then it should be addressed so they decide their wishes. The kind of people who respond badly to thinking about it, are usually the kind of people who will have already been thinking about it. — Flater1 min ago
One thing I noticed comes from the fact that the element carbon has graphite and diamond as the two most prevalent allotropes. On SE, the moderators are marked with a diamond; then I realized that in some nuclear reactors graphite is used as a moderator, literally, graphite slows down neutrons and is a neutron moderator. I doubt I'm the first person ever to come up with this, but I never seen this connection anywhere before ^.^
I'm really tired and fed up with that turmoil and heavy modifications of our lifestyle caused by outbreak of the bug, I guess the only good thing that happened to me as a result of the bug is that I joined SE as a result of lockdown.
I looked at stats and yestoday, I mean 24th September, was all-time-high 1136 new cases of the worm in my land of origin, I also looked stats in Portugal and France too because my friends are living there and it also doesn't look good with the worm. If not Pets Q&A and Awkward Silence chat I would have gone insane long ago, I'm tired of this worm outbreak.
