Morning!

Mornin

Do you know why people make changes to source code that aren't backwards compatible?

Morning
I must say this Amazon order of the RPi is making me anxious
what the heck does this mean
it's not on the "helpful" tab as before

7:05 AM
@CaldeiraG It's a bug.

Q: Flag message showing as "removed during a deletion" in the flag history

DaniilI recently flagged a (now deleted) NAA on SO (10k+ on SO) (mirror for everyone). The flag is shown as "removed during a deletion" in the flag history: What does this mean? Is the flag "helpful", "declined", "disputed" or something else?

They tried to fix something else and broke everything ;)

ah great XD
I hope they change current ones to 'helpful'
I have at least 10 of 'removed during a deletion' XD
I don't know that we can do anything about them for the moment. I'll make a note of the concern and see if we can address the flags impacted by this once we have a solution. — Catija ♦ 15 hours ago

7:34 AM
Oof, yeah... that's a lot :)

yep

Quick poll, do you think "personal ethics" can be a good name for personal moral principles ? Some suggested it's a poor name and argued ethics are conventional rules that can't be personal. I'm not expert on English nuances of the word "ethics" but can't it refer to anything morality related ?
owell why am i asking that on ips tho

7:58 AM
Heh, yeah that sounds like philosophy :P
> Many people think of morality as something that’s personal and normative, whereas ethics is the standards of “good and bad” distinguished by a certain community or social setting.
According to britannica.com/story/…. ;)

Thank you for reference. Think that fits well what the other person was suggesting as incorrect usage
now letś enter real philosophy
doesn't personal moral principles aren't always covered by ethics of the groups I chose to belong to ? You have 4 hours btw
(just kidding, I don't need an answer to that)

8:31 AM
@ArthurHavlicek I think there's a few words missing from that sentence, or there's a few words too many... I can't really parse it :P
(which makes it close enough to real philosophy, I guess XD)

:D
I remember someone saying "when I ask a question to a philosopher and they answers me, I don't understand my question anymore"

Morning people

morning!

Ael
I was right, office chairs are way less confortable than my bed

8:53 AM
XD You're at the office now?

Ael
9:07 AM
@Tinkeringbell Yep. And out of the 9 people who are there (10 if you count me), I only know 2 ><

Ah, the wonderful world of face-to-face XD

@Ael I think otherwise xD can't really find a good way to sit on my bed
But yeah, being in the office again sucks

Ael
@CaldeiraG Well, I do have to use a lot of pillows pilling. But it makes something really comfy at the end. Also, I am not trying to sit. More to reproduce a "deckchair" position

ah I see XD

12:49 PM
bah, i'm checking amazon website every hour to see if the raspberry pi is sent or not, nothing so far :(
might need to cancel and order straight from amazon warehouse

Ael
@CaldeiraG I'm pretty sure checking every hour isn't helping :p But I understand, I did the same thing just a week ago (I was waiting for a very promising book)
I hope you won't have to re-order, those kind of things are annoying

@Ael it's not XD
@Ael yep pretty much, amazon didn't recommend their own warehouse but some 2 month old seller who doesn't have any reputation
yesterday, by CaldeiraG
if i lookup the seller's name on google it looks like it's from a company founded 2 months ago

The inmate responded, "It's bec..."
Officer: Yes?
Inmate: I think I have..
Officer: Go on.
Inmate: Can I Please finish my sentence?
Officer: Sure. Parole denied.
