Related to my last question, I'm trying to gain experience and a portfolio and offered to make someone a website for free. Things have not gone as smoothly as hoped for a number of reasons The website she wants is more complex than I had anticipated. She wants to sell things through the website....

@CaldeiraG I made an answer, but arguably we don't have the whole picture. What I imagine very well is a friend of a friend asking me if i can do a website, presenting me something I imagine as simple so I accept, then adding afterwards features that I would be inexperienced enough to refuse and later on realizing that and feeling completely trapped by my own offer

well i can make websites for free. This offer is limited to nonprofits that are patient and respecful of our slow delivery times.

we also always ask for all creative materials like logo etc. being provided. This is the difference, you can help, but you set boundaries
