Yeah, it was very chaotic at times

I'm kind of drained mentally. Fortunately, they are letting us count half of our travel time as work time for the week, so I won't have to do any actual work tomorrow and can rest

I had to do a lot of interpersonal interactions, also I haven't had a meal that didn't cause me some amount of anxiety/overstimulation in the last 2 days

@Tinkeringbell Look at it on the bright side. Even though you'll never get entirely used to the excessive ichiness of that spot (or those stitches), you do get used to ichiness in general a bit more. So things like moderately itchy musquito bites will mean nothing to you in the future (speaking from experience with anually returning ichy spots that docter's cant identify exactly -.-)

Yeah, it's a little selfish that my primary concern is getting home on time, but it's almost 4am in my home time zone so I get to be selfish

@Rainbacon I know the feeling. I've had a few people on trains causing delays due to medical problems, at least once I was 99 percent sure this person was just faking it because the train was very full and they wanted a seat ('cause as soon as they had a seat, they suddenly felt much better).

I even felt irritated once I figured out a train I took regularly was always late at the end station because somewhere along the route they had to load/unload someone in an electric wheelchair... But that was more because I felt the schedule should take that into account, so it wouldn't give you the impression you could get your next train.

@Rainbacon Ah yes, I've luckily never been in one that had that happen. Heard the horror stories though...

@JAD At least twice, maybe thrice. One was where the train personnel had to assist someone on the platform until the ambulance came, the other was this guy that claimed to be feeling very unwell but didn't want to leave the train to wait for paramedis, and suddenly stopped complaining once seated.

There's a vague memory of there being a third I can't remember the details off, because it didn't cause much delay...

In the USA, "Alex" is indeed both a male name (short for Alexander) and a female name (short for Alexandra).

Yeah, that's... why I dropped it in this chat :P The people here usually provide valuable input on such matters, so perhaps it's more like 'how many people in here feel like that's a not so wrong train of thought'.

Because I usually value slightly known people over total strangers when it comes to this (and the Tweet I saw was definitely some retweet thus total stranger)

You best default to they. Some people are very uncomfortable being addressed as they. If they let you know, show an effort to use what you're being told to use.

Which can be amazingly hard, because the SE system doesn't really help you here. Someone made an userscript, but it only works if people put their pronouns in their profiles.

I'd expect that to be hard enough even with everybody having good intent

trolls weren't the largest issue - they stick out like a sore thumb and banning them is the end of it.
