Q: Marionette version of "The Little Mermaid"

BuzzInspired by this question about a version of "The Little Mermaid," I remembered that I saw (some time between 1980 and 1984 in Lansing, Michigan—possibly at Michigan State University) a marionette show telling the same Hans Christian Andersen story. I remember being very impressed with it, as by ...

user57467In the movie Star Wars - Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, the Death Star 2 orbits around the moon of Endor. According to the Death Star 2 wiki page on Wookiepedia, the space station did not have functioning Ion Engines nor a functioning Hyperdrive system: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/DS-2_De...

Q: Post-nuclear war story about a Russian official and an American mechanic working together against mounted barbarians

LorendiacI'm trying to track down a piece of Cold War fiction I once read in an English-language SF anthology. It is set some time after World War III had broken out between the USSR and the USA (and probably lots of other nations), with a great many nukes being dropped on strategic targets. It appeared t...

111strannik БабышеваLooking for one book. I only remember the beginning of the piece. Q: An old live action children’s show or movie set in a jungle or forest looking set?

Lavalamp0100I don’t remember the narrative as much as I remember some flashes of the visuals i remember seeing as a very young kid. Is this really a story-ID question?
It's about different versions of a specific story, not searching for an unknown story.
On Literature we'd tag this as , but I don't think SFF has such a tag.
@Randal'Thor Sort of
It's like 'Identify a book called No Blade of Grass, maybe it was also called The Death of Grass', it just has very different search criteria compared to other questions
From a certain point of view ...
But when it's phrased as "Was the original version of The Death of Grass reprinted as No Blade of Grass. Or vice versa?" that's only about an already known story.

Q: '80s sci-fi novel involving dangerous crystal towers and weird little animals, both of which turn out to be sapient

Andy JonesI want to recommend this book to someone else but I can't remember the title or the author. Pi PhiWhen Sauron was defeated in the War of the Last Alliance at the end of the Second Age, why did his spirit reform in Mirkwood and not elsewhere?
