Q: Is Khamul an Easterling?

KEMAL BERK TOYIs Khamul an Easterling or one of the eastern people? This is the main question, and we should look the epithets of Khamul in UT, because we can only make an origin comment about Khamul by looking at their epithets, there is no other information in UT or others. There is an epithet in Unfinished...

Q: Has there been any comment on the reasons for the discontinuities between "Ahsoka" and "The Clone Wars"?

AdamantThe second season of The Clone Wars covers the events surrounding the Siege of Mandalore. These events were also briefly covered in flashback in the novel Ahsoka. However, besides the broad strokes (Ahsoka captures Maul on Mandalore), the details of the two stories are very different. For instanc...

Q: How does the Doctor recover his ethical subroutines?

Daniel BIn the episode Equinox Part II, the EMH is operating on Seven of Nine, his ethical subroutines having been deleted. Shortly after, he appears on Voyager — presumably after being beamed over by Equinox's captain — and switches sides again. Why does this happen?

Q: Outer limits episode

Jeff BaconThere was an episode of the Outer Limits that I remember where there was at least one alien ship landing on earth and there were several bunkers where a single person was inside and had to keep entering a code or pushing a button to stop from destroying the world.

Q: Where is Dakota?

DemonI've been watching Static Shock again and I was wondering the same thing I wonder every time I watch it: Where is Dakota located in the United States? The wiki says it's somewhere in the Midwestern United States but doesn't give a specific state. I tried checking The Atlas of The DC Universe rele...

scifi.stackexchange.com/q/32113/4918 “It was a science fiction / body horror movie, set in the current time. There was a creepy, driven guy who implanted some kind of device on top of, or into his head. The thing he put on his head was very striking, it looked like an elongated pyramid, or cone. He seemed to live in an abandoned warehouse, and he gathered a lot of kids around him (who he probably controled with his device).” This is clearly "Charlie and the chocolate factory", right?
The man is Willy Wonka, with a tall cylindrical hat on his head, lives in a factory where he controls Oompa-Loompas, and does body horror on four of the five golden ticket winners, as well as several Oompa-Loompas.

Q: What exactly are Roluman interests in the Borg Reclamation Project?

SekhemtyIn Star Trek: Picard, one of the main locations is the Artifact, a derelict Borg Cube located in Romulan Space, which is the site of a joint project between Romulans and the Federation aimed at reclaiming Borg drones from the Collective. While I can understand the humanitarian goals on Federatio...

Would an edit that does nothing but correct grammar be considered unnecessary? If the question is still clear regardless of wording, I mean.
Sometimes I see titles that could be corrected but I don’t want to be a grammar snob.. Also sometimes on the internet I see ESL people being apologetic about their grammar even when it’s good, and it makes me worry that people were unnecessarily rude to them about it in the past. So I’m not sure if mere grammar corrections should be made or not.

Q: RIP Eugene Dynarski - TV and Film actor

AlithVariety reported on 26th April that Gene Dynarski has died at the age of 86 on February 27 2020. Although perhaps most closely associated with various non genre TV series from the 1960's/1970's, Gene was also active in Science Fiction in both movies and TV Gene worked on two Steven Spielberg fi...

Q: Fantasy novel involving a mall security officer who prevents a man from blowing up the mall with a dead man's switch

FuzzyBootsYou would think that a fantasy novel with a main character who is a mall security guard would be easier for me to find. Due to another question I answered recently, I wound up on the TV Tropes page for Dead Man's Switch, and it made me suddenly remember a paperback novel I read in the mid 1990s i...

@creative-username If there are other things to correct, like any of spelling, poor title, bad formatting, missing/wrong tags, broken links, etc. then jump in and fix all of it. (I usually won't edit just for grammar unless it's making the question unclear.)
But when I do edit a post I try to clean it up as much as possible (see previous list); don't edit for grammar and not check for spelling mistakes too.
@DavidW Ok that makes sense, thanks. :)
You don't want to be @Jenayah and get a talking to for your edits. ;)
The "talking" wasn't so much about proper English that it was about different interpretations of what is a good fit for SFF.
I know; I just saw you lurking, and couldn't resist poking you. :)

tssss.
Though the discussion did start from a point of a push-back on edits that, apparently, only some people consider useful, so it is actually somewhat germane.

Q: 1980s novel about portal to alternate dimension with energy beings, sacrifice of sentient natives, computer leech

JoelogonA sci-fi novel that I owned in the early 1980s, probably written no later than the late 1970s. I have plenty of details, I'm just not finding the result: Starts with the protagonist in media res as he's escaping from the organization he's been a trusted high executive (VP or similar) with. His ...

Q: TV series involving some kind of global phenomenon affecting people, in which there are also mass deaths of birds

Peter DunihoI have been for some years trying to recall the name of this TV series. I saw only a few episodes, but am now curious to see if it's still available (streaming, DVD, reruns on SciFi, etc.) Unfortunately, my recall of the details of the show are sketchy: For sure, it involved some kind of global...

Q: Is warp factor recalibration also an in universe event?

Jorge CórdobaI’ve always assumed the warp factor recalibration was a result of someone not liking the warp numbers going bigger and bigger and thus limiting the max to 10, therefore the recalibration being an out of universe event. I have never stopped to think whether this was ALSO an in universe event in wh...

Q: Very complicated hunger games theoretical scenario (lgbt acceptance, relationship between districts, betrayal)

Adrian CalSo basically the scenario is that you have district 4 and 7 (2 neighboring district after Suzanne Collins map of Panem) Lets say Katniss and Peeta weren’t picked for the 74th hunger games and at the place of centering on district 12 characters it would be on district 4 pov (with another main c...

Q: Searching for a TV Show

Mia StamatakisMy sister and I both remember watching a TV show on Netflix when we were younger, but neither of us can recall the name of.
