Q: After ATLA series ended and the Harmony Restoration Movement came to a close, what was Katara's next role?

ARJPerhaps I skimmed it over, but I don't think there's anything in the comic books or LoK which really describes what Katara's role was after she got married. I know for the other members of the Avatar team, their roles were explicitly stated. Zuko obviously ruled over the Fire Nation, Sokka was a ...

Q: Why did Queen Iduna keep so many secrets?

BatpersonIn the first movie it's strongly suggested that Elsa's parents were completely baffled by her powers and hence they weren't able to help her much in learning to live with them. From the second movie we learn that this can't have been the case: Yet she kept this to herself. In one of the firs...

Q: To date, what are the most powerful non-fusion Yu-Gi-Oh monsters and/or their attacks?

RusshiroI was rewatching the original Yu-Gi-Oh anime, it occured to me that it varied widely in some instances from the actual trading card game. Between Exodia, the Blue Eyes White dragon, the Dark Magician, the Egyptian God Cards and high level fusions, there are a lot of monsters with massive attack p...

OmegacronBeginning in Season 4 of "Star Trek: Enterprise", science officer T'Pol received a Starfleet commission granting her the rank of Commander. Q: How the heck did "Hawk Moth" get his Kwamii in the first place?

RusshiroFrom what I've gathered, the various items of the Miraculous world can grant limited super powers, and one specific one-time use ability to the wielders. Q: Does anyone remember a fantasy story where a pair of children travel between two parallell Earths

mickelI have no idea about the age of this book, only that it can't be all that new. I read it at around the age of ten, which would be 30 years ago. In the story there was a boy and a girl (if I recall correctly) that were enabled somehow (sadly I can't remember) to shift between two parallell versio...

Yeah, there's about 5 million random things. Probably 60% happened.
It doesn't read like someone trying to predict the story rather than making up cool scenes that could happen in Star Wars for once.
And some of it is just moronic "let's be assholes" shit.
Which reminds me, I predict "fans" to be 127% annoyed by the film.
I enjoyed it
I would say disappointed, but that requires positive expectations.
Took a while to get going but was good

@TheLethalCarrot That's the point. We don't want the bingo cards to be ultra-specific so there's no chance to check them out. If you want very specific predictions, go to today's xkcd strip.
Also, if you want a gold Lifeboat badge, watch the movie and start the community wiki answer by filling out all the easy questions.

Q: When Voldemort's spell originally rebounded and almost killed him, was a Horcrux 'used' to stop his death?

PatI think I misunderstand Horcruxes here - are they even used up? Or do they just exist to stop the person dying but are not actually 'used up' in the process? By this logic someone could be killed infinite times and still not die?

@Feeds Why is the feed shouting at me? And did Babel fish die in embarrassment?
Why shouting? Combined with that odd Rumpelstiltskin message the context of which seems to have gone, I'd rather think something is wrong on your end.
Hmm. the "Feeds" icon is actually the same size as Marvin and Babel Fish, it's just that because it paints a coloured background to its edge it looks far bigger and brighter.
Propel thyself then!
But it is from M&TV, so my comment was primarily about why "Feeds" was presenting it instead of "Babel Fish."
It seems it's a different feed the name of which hasn't been changed.
19:06
@NapoleonWilson Now who's being obscure?
I haven't paid much attention to how feeds work; I understand that to mean there are at least 2 bots scraping M&TV - presumably using different criteria - to show here? I guess that makes sense, I just never thought about it.
But, but, but, it ruins my joke! :)
Yes. I guess it's just the old one only looking for the scifi and fantasy tags. You can see them on the chatroom's feeds page.
@NapoleonWilson I suppose I could have addressed that message to TLC, but basically this half a dozen times: scifi.stackexchange.com/review/suggested-edits/157487
@DavidW It's still an okay joke nevertheless, don't worry.

Q: Have there been Announcements of New Star Wars Books or Comics, Tie Ins for The Rise of Skywalker?

Alessandro SanfilippoI just saw the movie, and I can see that they can go crazy and make a lot of tie ins. Maybe New Series (Since the Mandalorian seems to be going great) Or the clasic approach Comics or Novels. Are there any plans or have they already announced that they will indeeed make this?

Q: A short story (possibility written in the 80's), where humans visit an alien race that evolves fast?

I have to share it here, too, since I found this rather insightful and grounded, even if maybe a little cynic for some (although, I don't think it is):
in The Screening Room, 4 mins ago, by Napoleon Wilson
> We need to stop looking for people to blame. You can make a good movie, you can make a bad movie, it happens, filmmakers make mistakes. Sometimes Star Wars is not gonna be great, sometimes it's just gonna be bad. It's so popular, there's gonna be more and we have to just come to terms with that. We need to stop looking for people or corporations to blame for why something isn't the same way that it was for us when we were younger, because it's never going to be that way.
22:32
People were bent on hating Star Wars from the beginning. They wanted the story of their childhood recapitulated. For the most innocent of people, that simply meant wanting every story beat to be hit exactly the same way. For less innocent people, that meant not wanting women or people of color to play a major role in the story. But regardless, The Force Awakens passed this gantlet, barely, by managing to copy A New Hope with incredible care.
A blond youth with great potential in the Force is living a rough life on a desert planet when the evil empire brings the fight to her? A roguish ace pilot with a heart of gold? A former empire recruit whose loyalty is initially unclear? (Yes, Han was split over Finn and Poe). A droid that comes to Leia Organa with essential information for her side? R2-D2 is that droid? One of the major leaders of the Rebellion is a human woman who served in the galactic government?
The evil empire is building an enormous superweapon that can destroy planets? The main antagonist is a masked man who dresses all in black? His counterpart is an arrogant military officer? They both answer to a pale man with damaged features? The weapon can only be destroyed through a small weakness that not just anyone could access?
And that is without counting the elements that were taken from the other two movies in that trilogy, like a small, extremely elderly alien who has been around the block and gives some good advice to the protagonists.
With all that, I still heard tons of complaints. "Rey learns the Force too fast." "Disney is trying to push social justice on us." "Luke doesn't show up until the end and he's been in hiding the whole time. Luke wouldn't do that!"
So of course The Last Jedi (which had its flaws, certainly) was going to be received far worse. And of course anything other than a carbon copy of The Return of Jedi would be met with criticism for the last film. Some people believe that Palpatine was introduced after the negative fan reaction to The Last Jedi. If that's the case, whatever more original and interesting film might have followed from that film would probably have met an even more hostile reception.
23:41
I dunno, as someone who hung out with a fair number of people who were disappointed with RotJ when it came out, I don't think that many rabid fans wanted a recapitulation of that.
I mean, they're sneaking an entire shuttle through the shield onto the forest moon. Just fill the damn thing with explosives and drop it on the shield projector.
