@Jenayah I was going to respond by blaming you for not existing when France lost wars, but I thought insulting France would be a distraction from insulting you.
@Alex The same thing that happens when you don't get a pun that someone makes in a language you do understand: make a weird face and feel bad that you're out of the loop
@DCOPTimDowd eeeehh... I'd fire a "wait, Americans get a say in cases now?" but as we haven't chatted for long and you don't necessarily know me, I wouldn't want you to miss the irony ahah :D
@DCOPTimDowd by the way, probably silly to ask since from what I know, only US people describe themselves as Americans, but you're from the US then, I guess?*
I'm sure this question will be put on hold because it is very broad, but I don't know where else to turn. I'm trying to write a Star Wars fan fic about a scientist researching something during the time of the canon New Republic. I have searched many different ideas and almost all of them are on W...
In the episode:
From my understanding he is still part of the Night's Watch and cannot father any children, this being a really big treason to the oath he took when he joined the Night's watch, especially since from my understanding it can happen to "sleep around", but this feels like a way bi...
@DCOPTimDowd out of the stuff I've recently thought about, TAWP, Rooster Teeth shows, and the kind of mess Zoo season 3 was, for instance... So basically, it's more about the number of neurons ;)
@Jenayah It's interesting. I've known people from Colombia and Venezuela who bristle at people from the U.S. describing themselves as "Americans," but nevertheless only ever describe themselves as "Colombian" or "Venezuelan." And of course Mexicans (from "Estados Unidos Mexicanos") always refer to yanquis as "Americanos."
It's not superhero, it's sci-fi. Or rather it's supposed to be sci-fi, but the science works in ways so far from ours, and there are weird animals, and they're not even on Earth anymore, it might turn into a fantasy show.
I remember from my childhood watching some kind of educational euro-style animation about a boy named PocoPoco (something like that, it was Spanish-dubbed) who had curly green hair that was moving all the time, his skin was all white (as in #FFFFFF) and had a monkey tail.
He looked a bit like a ...
Daenerys has Varys on her side who is some kind of master spy.
She also has Bran who can scout for her easily.
She was up in the sky from where she should be able to see Euron's fleet where they were hiding before she was in range of the scorpions (if the ships could shoot at her, she should be s...
It’s said that Changelings are apparently just a specific type/subgroup of Scions, which raises the question:
Since changelings can decide to “choose” one side or the other of their heritage (or remain neutral), is there any information/evidence on whether this is in general a capability of all ...
In Game of Thrones episode s08e04 we see Varys and Tyrion having a conversation about who would be the best heir for the Iron Throne where Varys seems to try to conspire against Daenerys. Here are the last phrases of their dialogue:
Varys: You know where my loyality stands. You know I will ne...
@NapoleonWilson Is it just me, or is the claim that he managed somehow to accurately count to 14 000 065 one of the least believable aspects of this? I mean, the junk science in superhero movies is absolutely over the top but you kind of roll with it. But someone performing a non-instantaneous task, where he must actually pay attention to what's going on, and still keeping track of counting instances as he passes 10^7?
In Avengers: Endgame, the following is part of the dialogue between Bruce Banner (BB) in astral form [who traveled back in time] and the Ancient One (AO):
AO: I can't risk this reality on a promise. It's the duty of the Sorcerer Supreme to protect the time stone.
BB: Then why the hell did ...
The series Travelers revolves around agents from the future that send their consciousness back to the present and take over bodies of people seconds before they would have died in the original timeline.
According to the Wikipedia article on the series, they pick people whose death is imminent "t...
I have seen all episodes of Game of Thrones, from the very first one to the one of this week. But I guess I am going to stop now. It simply became too bad.
After Voyager is stranded in the Delta Quadrant energy conservation becomes a concern. This leads the crew to limit their replicator usage by implementing replicator rations and supplementing their food sources. However the crew continues to use the holodecks liberally. Is the technology not esse...
By Rhaegar and Lyanna's marriage the Starks are now technically members of the royal bloodline. Therefore if by some twist of fate Jon ends up killing Dany and goes to live in the north renouncing his claim, would it be correct to say that Bran would now be the rightful king of Westeros? He is th...
Half the population is erased and then ultimately resurrected 5 years later. After the 'reverse snap' is the resurrected population now 5 years older or were they restored to the same age they were at the time of the snap, essentially jumping forward 5 years in time?
