@Marvin Why is this unclear? Seems clear enough to be answerable (and indeed received an answer).
"we don't know" is an answer, not a reason to close. — Mithrandir 4 mins ago
Doesn’t seem all that clear to me, not every closure is down to we don’t know answer confusion
Those were two different questions I was complaining about the closure of; the "we don't know" one was for a different question.
The "unclear" one seems to me to be pretty unambiguously asking if Legilimency and Divination are similar or related; they're both about doing special things with your mind, so seems to me to be a reasonable question. Of course, the answer is no - Legimens and Seers have no relation, and being good at one does not make you good at the other - but the question seems clear.

Interesting that all of the linked questions in that Meta are now closed... The last one, with 15 answers, is a good demonstration of why an "any" question could be a problem. How do you pick a "correct" answer from a set of 15 when each of them provides an "any?"
The problem with an any question is people still treat them as list questions
Which is why most people I've spoken to don't like the ruling of that meta
I'm thinking of rewriting such a post, actually.
But I understand the point. The question is not "tell me all the instances of X," it's "is X possible within the constraints of this universe|the genre?"

@Jenayah Perhaps it's much more of a US thing. Major tobacco companies conspired to suppress evidence that smoking was harmful, one of the first examples of an entire industry collaborating to avoid regulation.
15:35
Hi close voters. About this being primarily opinion-based, "We don't know" isn't a reason to close. About this being unclear, please note that the close reason reads "unclear what you're asking", not "unclear why you're asking"... And in this case the "what" seems pretty clear, to me at least. — Jenayah 16 secs ago
I think that one is more a case of "I don't like it... ewwwwww" rather than that
@DavidW oh, no, that exists here as well, it's just that I've never heard that name, while for instance, I've heard (and still hear) "Big pharma" being used
@TheLethalCarrot of course it is, but that won't stop me poking at people using close votes as super DVs.
Indeed, the confluence of close vote and downvote on both answers might lead one to suspect that someone doesn't like it.
Not liking is fine, wrongly voting to close isn't.

@Marvin I tried another trick to be able to close it as a duplicate which didn't work. This time it warrants a main Meta post.

Why everything is working fine. The duplicate closure is “this is answered here” and if it isn’t answered yet then dupe closure doesn’t make sense
@TheLethalCarrot It does make sense, because there's no point in having the same question twice. In any case, the reason for the Meta post is not the general idea of it not working, but a specific issue with what happens.
@Alex Don’t have the time to properly respond but the point about the close reason is a system fault. The message doesn’t fully explain what duplicate closure should are for and this was even brought up on the meta you link in your post here. — TheLethalCarrot Jul 15 '18 at 19:21
