@Tango The Restaurant was never as active as Mos used to be. Basically what Gall said: after the nuking of Mos, most of the active chatters moved off-site (with, yes, much less moderation). A few of the SFF rooms on SE still have some activity, but usually just small groups of people, like the aSoIaF/GoT superfans in Quill & Tankard.

the original Marvel Super Heroes game had both Blackheart and Shuma Gorath as available characters.

As far as I know, they don't appear in the recent Infinity War movie.

I wanted Shuma-Gorath. Why can't I we have a nice Eldritch abomination god of chaos in the movies too...

@Randal'Thor For a while, it seemed this room was active - not as much as Mos, but that people were chatting. I'd check in once in a while. I just was surprised to see almost no discussion for several days. I'm going to have more time at the computer soon, after getting the house built and all that, and was hoping to reconnect. But I don't want to have to follow multiple chat rooms on different sites.

@Donald.McLean Well, sort of. I expected a lot of stress and mess in building, having the wedding, and moving in. I had no idea that, 7 months later, we'd still be dealing with all this crap around moving!

Her old house should have closed about 45 minutes ago, so we should be getting word, officially, any minute now, that it's closed and no longer her problem. My house went on the market a few weeks later and doesn't close until late May. Having that house close marks the point where we're finally free of all that stuff - moving stuff we left behind, cleaning up, getting rid of junk we didn't want, and fixing up the old places for sale.

Plus today I'm hoping to FINALLY finish the required landscaping and grass seeding so we can finally get our CO. Now we still have only a TCO (Temporary Certificate of Occupancy) because all the rain made it impossible to deal with moving topsoil in place and still have time to seed and spread straw before more storms would wash it away.

@Donald.McLean, what's going on with you?

@Tango Moving is always such an incredible pain. We had a contingent contract for construction of our new house with a borrowed $10,000 deposit (since our money was all in equity) and then the first contract fell through when the buyer was laid off the night before closing. It all worked out, but there was some panicking going on.

We're coming up on 2 years in the house and my wife and I are really enjoying not living in an area where traffic congestion is a way of life.

@Tango HAH! What naive people. A house is always a "work in progress" no matter how new or old, or how long you've lived there.

@Donald.McLean Yeah, I know. We're 20 minutes from anything except a gas station/convenience store about 3/4 of a mile away. (There seems to be one about every 10 minutes out there.) I find going into the bigger city or congested areas is something I avoid more and more!

@Donald.McLean Yeah, I agree with that. But in the past 7 months, we've had two houses to clear out, fix up, and sell. (And they sold over more than we were asking!) Plus we had adopted a pointer that had serious anxiety issues and that created about 2 months of serious stress and problems. We had a lot of work to be done inside, still (the book case shelves in the tower room and hall), the landscaping, and even little things like getting the indoor/outdoor carpet on the porch.

@Tango Hanover, PA is becoming built up, as most Baltimore suburbs do, but so far, it's fairly modest. Lots of times, if we want to go to a particular store, we have to travel to York, Baltimore, Columbia, or Frederick - all about an hour away.

@Tango That's one thing we don't have yet - any kind of deck or porch. We're in the process of figuring out what we want - maybe next spring.

@Donald.McLean Fortunately, for us, the specific stores we want to go to are all within about 20 minutes - pet stores, Home Depot, and a few others. But most places in Richmond are a 40 minute drive. There's a smaller city that's closer, about 20 minutes out.

@Donald.McLean The screen porch is on the 2nd floor. In fact, I'm at my computer, which is in a corner and I can see outside to my left, and see only trees. I have two large windows on my right and they look out on the porch and to the woods beyond. It took a lot of planning for a 2nd floor porch, including a floor that wouldn't let water drip down to the carport below.

@Tango In our old row house, my "office" was a corner of the basement family room. In the new house, I have an actual office with windows. Nothing like your grand vista, but still a huge improvement.

@Donald.McLean The funny thing is that, as carefully as I planned this house, there's one thing I overlooked: The view! My wife has a conservatory on the first floor with an excellent view, since she faces the front and side yards. My study on the 2nd floor? I see trees! I barely see the ground and not much sky for 6 months of the year because I see tree trunks and green leaves!

It's like being in a treehouse!

@Tango At work, I had an office overlooking a park. The building was on the side of a hill, so my office in the back was below the ground level of the front. Being that far down, my view was pretty much all trees. I loved that view.

@Donald.McLean Yes, it's cool having only trees outside. Relaxing.
