To be (brutally) honest, I don't think the M&TV feed adds much to this room. They're usually low quality questions that need quite a bit of work to make them answerable. They often lack research as well, as exemplified by the one above.

A custom close reason needs to be added for that. Or some users may choose "other" and then type in the reason they want to close the question - don't know if it'll show up, though.

There's been a suggestion to have a custom "future works" close reason, but I think it was declined.

Using the "other" reason is great... particularly if the site already uses the three slots already.

That said: "This question does not appear to be about science fiction or fantasy within the scope defined in the help center." is generally a bit too much of a catch-all in my experience and may be worth replacing.

@Mithrandir Many of our 100+ posts and Famous Questions predate the introduction of the HNQ system.

@amflare Questions can be closed for one of various reasons: POB, too broad, unclear, duplicate, or off-topic. On many sites, off-topic comes in several flavours because there are a few "custom close reasons" - on SFF, these are "scientific solutions or explanations" and "lists of works or recommendations". The meta post Gall linked above shows what happened when we proposed an off-topic close reason for future works.

The best thing you can do is link to the future works meta post in a comment below the question.
