@Slartibartfast That is what will guarantee their victory, though.
Any publicity is good publicity in a small election like this.

6:31 AM
@Adamant if I win I hope it’s not for some random rant on meta that was around for less than an hour

@TheLethalCarrot All I am saying is that there is no such thing as bad publicity. But if you win, it will be because of your dedication to the site, of course.

Q: 2000s-2010s RPG Maker zombie survival game (not combat-oriented)

JenayahI downloaded this three-part zombie RPG somewhere in 2015 or 2016. No idea how old it could have been. It was in 2D, probably made with RPG Maker, and I think I downloaded it on itch.io. I played it on Windows 7. It was split in three downloadable files, two of them being additional content rathe...

@SQB I would have rather thought of the scene in Shoot Em Up.
@Adamant I don't quite buy that. I think if a less obvious troll came around with a more reasonable complaint that didn't get deleted, it might not necessarily have a positive effect for the candidate. The people who wouldn't even read the meta post, don't check meta anyway.

Q: If there's only one Sacred Timeline, then why do multiple variants of Loki exist?

Sitesh RoyIn the first episode of Loki, we got to know that there's only one timeline with the story that we've seen so far. Then why are there multiple Loki's in the same timeline and how?

9:27 AM
@Adamant I feel like that saying is overused, I understand what it's used for but I don't think it should be taken completely literal

10:16 AM
@NapoleonWilson that's what the damn film is called I've been trying to think of it for an absolute age

@Adamant I guess I'm evidence for that.

TBF I voted for you back then and not because of the drama and publicity around you :P

@Randal'Thor I'd think you were elected despite the drama rather than because of it.

@NapoleonWilson I'd hope so :-)
But I was certainly the most ... visible candidate, due to all the drama.

Looking back at my nomination post, I don't think I'd vote for myself now and I don't think I'd be elected against such good competition today

@TheLethalCarrot oh?

Still not sure what sort of stuff we can do with M&TV/Lit, there's also A&M, RPG and A&C but those are a bit outside what I feel comfortable looking for

@TheLethalCarrot I can't think of anything for RPG either

There's , and which might offer some suggestions?

@TheLethalCarrot ughhh some of those need curating I think
why does a Harry Dresden question have a dnd tag?

10:52 AM
I can see why it has it but that's an odd question from a 2 second glance

@TheLethalCarrot I think the question is sort of "In universe does he behave like a D&D wizard"
I like this one scifi.stackexchange.com/questions/83678/… however I am biased

Looks like it has a good answer tbf (again from a 2 second glance :P)
Are lore questions on topic at RPG? Or is it more based on rules/gameplay stuff?

@TheLethalCarrot lore is 100% on topic

Is it an Arqade sort of thing where it's on topic but not really asked about or is it something that comes up a lot?
Trying to work out if we'd be stepping on toes or not

It's probably more than on Arqade
the lore tag there has ~729 posts

Q: Which Dresden Files novels are "spoiled" by the core rpg books?

harlandskiI'm currently reading my way through the Dresden Files novels as a background to playing the game. (Related: Should I read the Dresden Files fiction before I get the RPG?). Q: What was the first published appearance of the Holy Avenger (or Holy Sword, or similar "holy" weapons meant for paladins) in the Forgotten Realms?

Personally, I'd not have specific questions show up on other sites. It seems likely to generate more confusion than it's worth. I wouldn't mind you having an ad with what you can handle, but just a question that looks on topic but link off site rubs me the wrong way

Q: Why was Loki so weak?

OrangeDogIn the second episode of Loki, the titular character is beaten up by a regular human inside Roxxcart, including being knocked off his feet. Vaughn OhlmanThis was a short story, probably late 70's, early 80's. The protagonist was an evil villain type, who thought himself super powerful, who was coming to take over the Earth. Q: Would it be possible if someone knew Legilimency and was on the Quidditch Team, to cheat because you could read the opponents minds?

KathrynIf I was writing a fanfic, and my own character knew Legilimency and Occlumency and the teachers knew, would they say anything to her? Also, my character doesn't require a wand to use Legilimency. Like, not to cheat using Legilimency? Would it even be feasible or possible to cheat using Legilimen...

@Marvin I may have been too quick to close this
@TheLethalCarrot you've seen it, do you think it's answerable/salvageable?

I voted to leave it open. There are 2 parts to it, whether it's possible/feasible to do it whilst playing Quidditch and whether it's cheating/if she'd get told off.

@AncientSwordRage A writer who speaks of "my own character" instead of "the protagonist" or something suggesting less personal involvement, rings all kinds of "Mary Sue" alarm bells.
Not that that really answers your question.
I think rather, the introducing of a new different-from-the-universe element (no wand) sends this off into the weeds of personal headcanon.

The former is certainly answerable, the latter is a bit more iffy and I'm not totally sure but I feel like if using Legilimency is cheating or not in Quidditch should be answerable. And both sides of the question are reasonably close in topic that I don't think it's too broad

@TheLethalCarrot two questions that should be separated though?

2:32 PM
@DavidW Legilimency is possible without a wand, but for a student? Probably not
It is certainly borderline a Mary Sue kind of character

@TheLethalCarrot Ah, I missed that. Possibly I never read far enough into the series. (I couldn't bring myself to complete it.)

@AncientSwordRage the broad question is, can my character use Legilimency in Quidditch. A reasonable answer should be considering both aspects anyway I suppose
@DavidW I'm pretty sure it's what Voldemort does with Harry

@TheLethalCarrot I'm counting 3-4 questions

Then I guess I'm just forgetting. That's happening to me now too, sometimes. :)

I suppose the only real problem to me is "Would it even be feasible or possible to cheat using Legilimency to peer into your Opponents minds to see what they were going to do?" but even that should be answerable: "no it takes too much mental power you couldn't do both at once" or "yeah should be easy..."
All of the "questions" really fall under the general heading of can my character use Legilimency in Quidditch? The "questions" are more sub-questions that fall in there as I'm reading it

2:38 PM
@TheLethalCarrot It would still be good to either split them out or integrate them more

Sure, it probably needs an edit anyway. I was going to do it but was thinking about it a bit more before doing so

Hi and welcome to the site, while we have you please take the tour and checkout the help center. I am seeing 3-4 questions here that should be split up, though not all are definitely answerable... "1. Would they (teachers) say anything? 2. Does Legilimency require a wand? 3. Would it be feasible to use Legilimency while flying a broom? 4. Will Legilimency show my character what their opponent will do next". We can only answer one at a time, so you will likely get better results by asking multiple questions, even if they're closely related. — AncientSwordRage ♦ 1 min ago

Would you close the question if it was just "Can my character use Legilimency in Quidditch?"?

no
I think the "What would the teachers do" looked more significant when I did close it
which is opinion based

I think that's what's leaning me towards keeping it open really. I'd say the "questions" within are really just guiding questions
Oh it surely is, but I think that really boils down to them asking if it is cheating per the rules of Quidditch rather than anything else

2:40 PM
"Have students been punished for cheating at Quidditch" and "Have students been punished for Legilimency?" are goo questions
@TheLethalCarrot which I think they cover later

If you only want to know if it's possible, then you'd still be better off focusing this question on that premise, and let the answerer address the relevant parts — AncientSwordRage ♦ 2 mins ago

> 6. Wands may be taken on to the pitch [NOTE: The right to carry a wand at all times was established by the International Confederation of Wizards in 1692, when Muggle persecution was at its height and the wizards were planning their retreat into hiding.] but must under no circumstances whatsoever be used against opposing team members, any opposing team member’s broom, the referee, any of the balls, or any member of the crowd.
It's probably cheating anyway

@TheLethalCarrot it's like you read my mind

Huh. It does not explicitly ban the use of a wand on oneself, or on fellow team members.

2:48 PM
But the question is asking of using Legilimency on the opposing team

Yeah, not relevant to this question
Just, that seems open to abuse more generally

> Would it even be feasible or possible to cheat using Legilimency to peer into your Opponents minds to see what they were going to do?
I don't see how it's not relevant

No, I mean the insight that it doesn't ban using the wand on your teammates isn't relevant here

3:00 PM
I'm not saying it is
@AncientSwordRage I answered it, but the question could probably do with cleaning up a bit still
