@GarethMcCaughan An extra opinion, I have been treated well by Thinkpads. And I still own one. My employer provides a thinkpad as well. So, well, I like it. Also, Dell is just a bulky piece of machine with no good battery life. So, I ll avoid it. HP heats up a lot.
@n_palum Dell XPS 15, HP Spectre x360 15, Lenovo ThinkPad T570. @Techidiot this particular Dell, whatever its faults, isn't bulky except in so far as it's a 15-inches, which is definitely the size I want.
@GarethMcCaughan Why are you restricted to those? Budget?
If you can tell me you're budget, preferences, and what you want to do with it/what you want to get out of it I could probably recommend better laptops.
@n_palum I did indeed say a lot about my considerations. Budget isn't really one of them (more precisely: I don't have an upper limit but am obviously unwilling to spend money unless I get sufficient benefit from doing so, and I'd probably be getting the highest-spec variant of whichever of those I choose). I am also skeptical about both Dell and HP but both happen to have some nice-on-paper laptops in their lineup at the moment.
