I'm going to retract my 8 to make more space on the star-board because it's one of those things that either someone knows or no one does, and clearly on this occasion no one does. It's TINTINNABULI and I thought it was fair enough after Rubio guessed TINTINNABULATION for another clue :-).
yeah, never heard of it
oh
my word is TINTINNABULUM.
you have the win.
um. i just searched that on google and
I was about to report the same
wh...ahah/??!
23:03
and it gives that picture alongside a definition about Roman Catholic churches
Yeah...
wow. that's just wrong on so many levels.
For what it's worth, I didn't actually know TINTINNABULUM (and I will bet no one else here did either) but if you choose to concede that's fine with me :-).
it's the singular, so yeah
if no one knew the word this would never end anyway
23:05
yeah
I always try to go with non-obscure words
yeah was just gonna say, once we got to TINTI it would have ground to a halt
Well my second one was TINT, not sure how far people got
nowhere.
please explain
(word ladder with an unclued gap)
yeah please
23:06
ohhhh
I saw "TENT" in the middle, but
ohhhhh
FIND HIND HINT TENT SENT SEAT
that's clever
that's bloody unlikely ;)
Nice clue, I'm hoping that doesn't catch on though
wow
My abbey was TINTERN and my reporter, which for reasons that will rapidly become apparent I'm surprised no one got, was TINTIN.
I know nothing about him but the name
23:08
heh. I've only heard the name, I have never seen/read it
Ah. I believe he is a (precocious child) newspaper reporter.
Huh, forgot about that aspect of TINTIN. I just remember him running around a lot
14-15 years old, originally. Apparently later on the artist thought of him as more like 17.
tisane and tintern huh. to the dictionary I go :)
23:09
Tintern Abbey will not be in the dictionary -- it's a (ruined) building.
(It's in e.g. Wikipedia, though.)
ahh. then I don't feel that bad
I've never met "tisane" before, thanks
I need to be AFK for about 10 minutes, and ideally longer than that, so if there's demand for another game I suggest someone else defend.
I am also going to be stepping away for probably until the turn of the hour
I'm around, but only in the background (i.e. offence only)
(note that at, as Rubio puts it, the turn of the hour, everyone gets their stars back.)
anyway, AFK for a bit now
23:17
I should probably go do what I was expected to be doing for the past couple of hours
that... sounds like a good idea
