Uh... is it possible to say Hello World in APL?

Strings, character vectors, are written within single quotes (') and typically the last expression is printed so - 'Hello World' works.

@EssieRivers But what characters will be inside the single quotes?

I'm not sure what you mean. The characters 'h' 'e' 'l' 'l' 'o' ' ' 'w' 'o' 'r' 'l' 'd' will be inside the string 'Hello World'

@EssieRivers Oh. I taught you needed other characters instead.

I see! Nope, ordinary characters do fine

@EssieRivers Hey, long time no see. There was a discussion about tacit.help producing things like {=⍵} when it concievably could detect that = doesn't work monadically. I tried changing the cover for = and the other strictly dyadic functions to not be ambivalent, but somehow that also made =/ fail. Any ideas?

Hi! Let me see...

Great. You can look at what I did here.

Do you remember how it failed, specifically?

I entered (+/(∧\≡⍤¯1)) and it said "SYNTAX ERROR: The function requires a left argument" ... in BOTH boxes
( being another one of the strictly dyadic functions.)

Lovely, thanks
I'm afraid I don't know, sorry ^^
I would guess the issue is _o, I can't see anywhere else a simple operand could be called dyadically and I can't imagine how else that issue would occur.

@B.Wilson Yup, there's some lazy binding, but I'm unable to list all the places where that'll happen. It'll certainly happen when the value is required and the name is unquoted.
