Looks like some kind of lazy loading is going on. Other than dereferencing, what other actions trigger the binding?

Parsing along would trigger dereferencing, I think

@B.Wilson I've asked John to answer this.

@Adám looks like this room got hit with star spam lately - did you happen to notice when it happened?

no

looks like it happened on the 15th of January UTC. I've cleaned the stars and added this room to the list of impacted rooms

hey while I'm here - is there problem testing for the apl problem solving comp this year?
I remember you used to mention it in TNB but I haven't seen anything about it there for a few years now

we're changing format (and name) completely, but yes, the new "APL Challenge" has automatic immediate testing for all problems.

sorry, by testing I meant the beta testing y'all do

Volunteers wanted: We're getting ready for the 2021 APL Problem Solving Competition, and are seeking volunteers to review and solve the candidate problems, and test the website. Please ping me if you're interested ― you don't have to know APL. (Of course, this disqualifies you from winning.)

oh, i think we'll just use internals, as it'll be 4 times per year -- will ask, though.

cool cool

I see Dyalog 19.0 documentation has been put online?

9:11 PM
@LdBeth Yes, because Beta 1 is out.

9:30 PM
@Adám Any chance we can use 19 for APL competition this year?

9:45 PM
@LdBeth Yes, there's a good chance, even for the first round (there'll be a round every three months, starting February 1), but there's nothing new in 19.0 that's of interest for this purpose, especially as the competition is being replaced by a very basic "APL Challenge".
