Some Dyalog-ers are trying to get the RIDE protocol on plan9, a few of us would like to use it for our jobs. It will likely never run natively and virtualization is hit or miss.
Ping me if you make progress :)
With virtualization, a RIDE protocol file structure and some improvements to the netsurf fork it should be viable.
@essielovett I was thinking about making a "libride", which abtracts away the actual communication. Then it should be relatively easy to do whatever we want with it afterwards. My plan is to have a filesystem with a /session file that is read-write, and a /ws/ folder which is like the workspace explorer. Each file in /ws/ should be read-write with any old editor. And then lastly, a /ctl file which you can write certain yet-to-be-decided commands to, such as 'echo StrongInterrupt > /mnt/ride/ctl'
it is actually a very simple language. Can I offer you a personalised intro?
@user5369 You should have write access now. Since you're new to Stack Exchange chat, I highly recommend familiarising yourself with apl.wiki/APL_Orchard#Features
