Is there a "proper" bug tracker for XeLaTeX? So if someone go search for bugs they can find those

@user202729 As @DavidCarlisle has said, unicode-math does loads of setup, so the time is not surprising, and also as he's said, given that TeX used to take >15 minutes per page, 0.8s load time is trivial to the point of being \simeq 0s

@user202729 I guess I'm trying to get at that for most documents, this is still meaning you are under a few seconds to run the typesetting: unless one is building a large-scale website delivering 1000s of PDFs, that's almost certainly much faster than you can write

@user202729 yes saved several minutes back then and even now for code like pgfplots or tikz with thousands of iterations it saves a visible amount of time, not so much the parsing as exectution \active is a number so terminates an assingment but if you do \foo=13\fumble, you have to expand \fumble decide if it starts with a digit if not put it all back, see
