I have a problem with a latex->pdf creation.
till last week all was fine with the document, but today, after adding a paragraph in chapter 3, I have the following issue:
- chapter 3 is missing said paragraph
- chapter 4 is ignored
- the bibliography is missing (and the references in the text)
- chapters 3 and 4 are missing from the ToC

what could it be?

but the main reason is that user say that too much switiching command in the toc file make a fatal error

I think that is because with 200 pages, with apprxomatibley 35 line by page

we get 30*200*2 = 120 000 line in the toc file only for language switching

@Rmano indeed yay (since I'm currently testrunning on vimtex). I have to admit that I'd like the colours in \ExplSyntaxOn inverted, using Monokai the l3 functions now have a cold blue while variables have a bright pink, I'd prefer the opposite (but only inside the scope of \ExplSyntaxOn and \ExplSyntaxOff). Maybe I'll have to dig a bit through the files to see how I could do this :)

@Maïeul yes, but I would say it is a babel bug. It should be easy to store that the language command has already been written and not to do it again. I mean this here writes three lines in the toc:

however, I think that in some case, reledpar must switch between two real alternate language constntly, but not writing in the auxiliary files . Because we do not need that, as switching is only for hyphenation (but is more complex, because sometime we realy need writing in toc files...)

@Rmano there is a bug in the nested \ExplSyntaxOn declaration. They don't stack, so after \ExplSyntaxOn\ExplSyntaxOn\ExplSyntaxOff the expl3 syntax will be off.

@yo' I was helping one of my students on Overleaf yesterday, and we had big problems getting syncing between source and PDF to work at all. Are there known issues? Browser problems? I use FF on a Mac; I don't know what they were using other than it was a PC.

@AlanMunn Hi! We had a major outage on Sunday which crippled some Overleaf browser sessions, so it makes sense to try clearing cookies+cache or go Incognito to see whether that helps. Other then that, there're some known issues with spaces in filenames and with some package such as tikz-fadings, todonotes, ... overleaf.com/learn/how-to/SyncTeX_Errors
