@CarLaTeX you can install LaTeX2e <2020-02-02> patch level 5 e.g. from this repository (for some reason it seems to be the first always) tlmgr install --repository=http://anorien.csc.warwick.ac.uk/mirrors/CTAN/systems/texlive/tlnet --all

@UlrikeFischer Thanks, you'll do it immediately :)
`tlmgr.pl: The action install does not support the following option(s):
all` is it `update` instead of `install`
?

@CarLaTeX yes sorry :-)

I luckily made it into TL19frozen with expkv-def, but rushed in the end, now there are a few missing \long in the internals of it, so no key-definition can contain a \par until TL20.... Luckily the documentation says there are no bugs. :)

@ "xsim"

Does anyone know: How to hide the symbol at the points?

I mean '__/ ' in '__/ 10p.' I want only '10p.' here.

@cis ??

cis
@DavidCarlisle

@cis still have no idea what you are asking about, what is making that output?

cis
I don't know. That symbol is always placed in front of the score (by default).
If I knew the name of the symbol, I could probably find it in the manual.

@cis you are presumably using some unnamed package that puts something in the margin that you want to change, but apart from that i can't guess.
@cis I assume the horizontal line is a \rule but it could be made with \hrule or \hrulefill or several other things.

This is a (very) hard coded symbol.
I think I have to understand

Q: Customizing points in `xsim`

Al-Motasem AldaoudeyehThe points in exercise environment seem to align right under the line of the exercise name and label as shown here How do I left it upwards as follows This alignment is the typical behavior of exsheets. I also want the points brackets and text to be formated as shown above. One more thing...

@cis so we were supposed to guess you were using xsim package?
@cis grep rule * in the xsim directory shows xsim.definitions.code.tex: \IfInsideSolutionF { \rule {1.2cm} {1pt} \slash }

cis
@DavidCarlisle Oh, I thought it was clear because I wrote "@ 'xsim'" above.
Aha

@cis I assumed you tried/failed to ping some user of that name, I completely ignored that!!

cis
OK, I found

`\IfInsideSolutionF{\rule{1.2cm}{1pt}\slash}%`

in the manual.

Now I'm pondering how to turn it off.

@cis you can always copy the file xsim.definitions.code.tex to the directory with your document and simply delete the rule if the package doesn't offer an option for that

4:07 PM
@DavidCarlisle Ahhhaaa, so I understand the '\makeatletter ...' in the link, I posted. I hoped, there is a simplier way, instead of redefining the complete '\DeclareExerciseEnvironmentTemplate{default}'

@cis I have no idea: never used the package

@PauloCereda Is the 2nd guy in JAZZ just in his undies?
(btw, Overleaf codes mostly in JavaScript)

Bob
good ftgernoon
good afternoon
do tables work in MathJax?

@Bob mathjax only emulates a subset of latex math so arrays such as array or ams matrix environment but not tabular or any other text mode construct
@yo' directly in javascript or one of the newer things like typescript that compile down to that (if it's not a secret)

yo'
@DavidCarlisle a lot is directly JS AFAIK
@DavidCarlisle github.com/overleaf

@yo' ah I forgot you had public code parts

Bob
Thanks David

8:36 PM
@DavidCarlisle well, you can install a (pretty fine) version of OL locally in docker :-)
obviously some features are not available there, but it is pretty usable.

Bob
Also David, I think if you have answered some of my posts and I thank you for that.

@Bob were any of the answers right though?

Bob
I believe they were all right

@Bob :-)

Bob
it is my claim that in Math the US is falling behind the rest of the world
I also claim the percentage of students coming out of high school who have ever used LaTex is essentially 0.

yo'
8:43 PM
@Bob essentially yes, but I can confirm it's not exactly zero :-)

Bob
I am sure it is more than zero
but I consider (I live in the US) that a bad statistic
I would think it should be around 5%
nice chatting
I need to go
bye
