The most significant part of this edit is formatting changes that are wrong. I think it should just be rejected (or maybe Reject and Edit). It needs at least one more review.

1:37 PM
@EliahKagan It removed some outputs also which IMO were helpful.

Good point.
Also thanks for the review. :)
I think that post is trying to make a specific recommendation to solve the problem. I think.

Seems so. Maybe an edit could help that post

But that looks very much unclear.

I tried opening discord to see if I can understand, but seems I need to fiddle with discord on my system first
maybe later

@Zanna Is that in regard to the Island convo or something else? (I don't want to move messages to the Island if I'm wrong about them being intended for there.) Oh, no, it's about the question which is about Discord. I'm glad I asked!

Cool, thanks. I've been meaning to get around to asking for SmokeDetector privileges but I've not yet done so.
@Kulfy 18.10 is also EOL, which is think is a more clearly applicable closure reason.

Is this opinion-based? It seems it just asked for a feature of one DE in another, sounds fair enough to me. I couldn't even see any opinionated statement either (I have made an edit, but just tag-edit and capitalisations). (Note: I posted an answer, so I haven't voted on it yet.)

4:09 PM
@EliahKagan haha and you answered your own question:)
@pomsky they gave examples of what they want to do, so I think it should be answerable, though the answer might be "no you can't"
@pomsky how can that be opinion based? Are we applying that to any question where a user mentions having some kind of preference? O.o
Voted to leave open

@Zanna Hmm, I haven't voted on it, so probably wouldn't either. But the comment posted to the question is completely useless (sounds like they didn't understand the question at all), innit?
@Zanna I was equally surprised!

@pomsky seems pretty unhelpful yeah
@pomsky maybe someone misclicked :)

@Zanna flagged as no longer needed
@Zanna No, I guess it's the user who left the comment

4:24 PM
Hmph
Hopefully it won't get closed for that reason. If it does we can comment on it and vote to reopen

Ooh, no, my bad! Can I revise my feedback?
@Natty fp

Invalidated the previous feedback on askubuntu.com/a/1163829

Ah, good.
And it replaced my previous wrong feedback, since the original feedback and the invalidating feedback were both from me. Nice.

@Zanna I checked my Discord on Ubuntu and Windows. Windows Settings is available in Windows and on Ubuntu, Linux Settings is available. I guess they are using Windows but I think same applies for Ubuntu. May be I should edit and add some screenshots. (cc @EliahKagan)

Seems reasonable.

Currently I have booted up Windows. I'll edit that once I boot Ubuntu again.

Would it be more convenient for me to make the screenshot? I haven't given the question good attention, but I do have Ubuntu systems up and running.

@EliahKagan Umm. It's upto you.

@Kulfy I actually don't have a GNOME system running right now.
I have a VM with GNOME that I could use for this though.
It doesn't have Discord on it but I can install it easily.
It's up to you. Idk if you're planning to switch back to Ubuntu soon or not anyway. If not, then it's probably easier for me to make the screenshot. Otherwise, whichever.

7:10 PM
I'll do it in hour. I've GNOME though.

GNOME is what's needed for this, right?
I got it running on the VM.
Is it the Minimize to Tray setting in the Linux Settings that should be shown?
And is it better for it to be shown toggled on or off?
I guess off.
Or, actually. Wait, I'm not sure if I understand the procedure here.
Is the idea that you enable the icon, and then you can use the Quit Discord menu item from it?

what screenshots do you guys need? @EliahKagan @Kulfy

for getting tray icons on gnome you need an extension and this is the only way to close the discord window fully

Those should probably be cropped and might benefit from freehand circles. :)
@Videonauth Oh.
"Quit Discord" doesn't actually quit it fully?

7:18 PM
this quits it but close to tray means the window closes but discord is still running

(Those screenshots are from a VM. I don't typically use GNOME and I haven't really checked how it works with that interface.)

not sure if you can meanwhile see the icon without the extension

Well, the panel icon (pictured in the second screenshot) is still shown after the application window quits.
When I click that icon and click Quit Discord, then next time I open Discord it seems like it's starting anew.

the icon should be gone when discord is shut down

Yeah.
When I click Quit Discord, that icon does disappear from my panel.

7:21 PM
yes then discord has been stopped

Okay cool.
@Kulfy Is some combination of these screenshots sufficient?

i only know that you needed an extension for making them visible back then so i dont know if that is still the case or if they found a way around this

I didn't install an extension.

I don't normally use Discord on that VM, and I believe the only Discord-related thing I've installed on it is Discord itself.
(Which I just installed on it.)

7:24 PM
what I still don't get is that so many people bash on gnome, if you work a bit on it and make it look like you want it its not so bad

@EliahKagan Only this is sufficient. User needs to disable "Minimize to Tray"
@Videonauth Not sure about the icon but I can do ps aux | grep discord to confirm or just look at the GNOME system monitor.
Ctrl+Q is equivalent to clicking on Quit. And that answer exists.

8:20 PM
@EliahKagan I edited the answer and added 2 cents from my side.
