@andrew.46 Thanks! It's weird that they stopped mentioning the name's origin in newer versions.
@ArturMeinild hahaha! Some users are obsessed with versions and downvoting!
The worst thing is that I don't think that these users follow the questions they downvotes, so even if the OP adds the info they requested, they almost never retract their downvote

@NotTheDr01ds Which is a bad trend, IMO.. 😬 Lots of questions are completely Ubuntu/version agnostic, and are fine that way..

I answered this question: askubuntu.com/questions/1441512/…
But also added my answer to this more generic question: askubuntu.com/a/1442877/1066942
I voted the first as a duplicate to the second - do you agree?

@ArturMeinild I agree. While some mods don't like having the same answer to multiple questions, I don't think it's bad. What you could also do is have your answer only on the target, vote to close the question as a dupe, but add a comment pointing to the exact answer of the target. This way you won't have posted the same answer multiple times and the OP will be pointed to the right solution for their case.

@BeastOfCaerbannog Yeah that would be fine by me. It doesn't matter to me if I have to delete the answer on the first question - however it's a little bit more specific to the version. Let's see if the question get closed, and take it from there..

Well, just leave the answer there. But remember to add a comment to your answer on the target if it gets deleted.

@BeastOfCaerbannog 👍😎

This looks like an XY problem, no?

I actually tried to answer - inspired by Ian's now deleted answer..
It will never be a "full" flavor conversion, but for the desktop environment, metapackages exist.
I think that answer makes sense in the context, although it isn't a "full" answer - because this doesn't exist.

This question should probably also have linked this question as duplicate.
Can a mod add an additional question as dupe?

@ArturMeinild does that question have any resources that currently work? :|
that particular question is a bit of a thorn in our collective side

I believe this question have the exact answer - namely that you have to change the sources from archive to old-releases. It's the top and accepted answer, and it's what helped the user here.
@Zanna Do you worry that the question is in fact off-topic?
I just saw that the accepted answer helped the other poster - that's it. 😉

you missed a bit XD @BeastOfCaerbannog

@ArturMeinild oh hm hahaha I guess that is a good enough reason then
@ArturMeinild no I don't think it's off topic

@Zanna 👍
Hope all is well btw 😎

A: Maintaining canonical posts - how can we improve our most popular questions?

ZannaHow to install software or upgrade from an old unsupported release? This question originally asked only how to install software on an unsupported release, and was subsequently generalised and had several questions merged into it. The effect of merging is to move answers and comments from the sour...

@ArturMeinild all good, just very busy with the lil one
thanks <3

@Zanna I can imagine 😁

@Zanna Oh fuuuuu.....

@BeastOfCaerbannog that's my kinda mistake, only not as bad
I once replaced some characters in the title of a post with random Tamil characters due to not noticing I was using the wrong keyboard layout
someone pointed it out to me a few minutes later, thankfully XD

6:39 PM
@Zanna Hahaha! I maded the "u" capital. I don't even know how I didn't see that!

yeah that was the best part - you even fixed the capitalisation...

@Zanna I have done the same. But with greek letters it's not as bad. Many are the same as latin.
@Zanna What can I say

hahaha yeah

you are by far the site's best editor these days haha comes with the territory

6:41 PM
When I changed the "unbuntu" in the body I even thought: "Haha, it's been a while since I saw an 'unbuntu'!"

this reminds me of a time in AUGR when terdon admonished me for making an utterly trivial edit

@Zanna Only because Eliah retired and you're not so active in editing!
@Zanna Had to google "admonish" :P

and I pointed out that both "windows" and "ubuntu" had been spelled wrongly in the title

Is it hard to find that? I'm curious!

I can't figure out how to find it
also this

6:47 PM
@Zanna Hahaha
BTW, I think that titles in the editor are like second-class citizens. They don't draw enough attention, so many users don't even see them. Many times I don't as well and edit the title only after I have completed an edit and look at the question again.
