2:03 PM
@SS. I've watched Beauty and the Beast, both the animated one and the new live-action one. I didn't know Tom, Dick, and Harry comes from that though.

SS.
2:29 PM
@SwiftPushkar The deities carved are hindu gods only. But yeah. Those mudras are present in Hinduism very much longer than Buddha. Every Hindu deity has a special mudra which represents something.
@KeshavSrinivasan They are Gaston's sidekicks.

@SS. - Yes , 😊👌Given you a STAR 🌟

SS.
@KeshavSrinivasan But those names were very popular in UK much before during the world war times. I read some where.
@SwiftPushkar Thanks. So nice of you.

@SS. -😊👍👍

SS.
@KeshavSrinivasan Which movie did you like?
Live action or animation?
And there are many versions of it.

no
if the earth is flat, why dont we fall off

SS.
2:37 PM
Hey @Tobi o/

see
changing the subject, because you can't think of a valid reason

SS.
Who's changing the subject? I greet people when I see people enter the chat room for the first time.

@SS. బ్రో ..ఆడు తేడా గాడులా వున్నాడు..జర చూస్కో

why dont we fall off the earth, then
no answer, as usual

@SS. I really like the animated movie. As far as the live-action movie, I thought it was OK. I liked the story, the visuals, and background music, but I thought the song sequences were ridiculous and I thought Emma Watson's acting was horrible. She wasn't the right actress for this role.

2:41 PM
classic
change the subject

@Tobi We don't fall off because the Earth is round.

exactly
you finally admitted it is round.

@Tobi Haha, did you suspect anyone here thought it was flat?

@SS. @Tezz @KeshavSrinivasan @SwiftPushkar Even there are animated movies on Baahubali. baahubali-lost legends.

Doesn't the hindu bible say that

SS.
2:42 PM
@Tobi There is nothing like Hindu bible.

@Tobi See this question to know some scientific facts mentioned in Hinduism.

@Tobi No, Hinduism doesn't say the Earth is flat.

7
Q: What are some scientific facts described in Hindu scriptures?

Rohit Singh RathoreBṛhat samhita- chapter 35 (6th century CE) describes formation of rainbow. This was later proposed by Sir Issac Newton nearly after 11 centuries. The verse is as follow. सूर्यस्य विवधवर्णाः पवनेन विघट्टिताः कराः साभ्रे । वियति धनुः संस्थानाः ये दृश्यन्ते तदिन्द्रधनुः ।। Meaning:...

is hindu about a god

@Tobi Yes, Hinduism involves belief in gods.

2:44 PM
are there 8
i heard 8

@Tobi There are many more than 8 gods. But there are three main ones: Brahma the creator, Vishnu the preserver, and Shiva the destroyer.

how do you remember them all?

SS.
We have a good memory I guess. :P

@Tobi Well, personally I have a photographic memory, so I essentially remember everything I read, and I read a lot. You can see some of the Hindu texts I've read here:
9
A: Which texts have you read?

Keshav SrinivasanNote: I don't generally read Hindu scriptures and works linearly from beginning to end. So here is a list of some of the texts I've read, in whole or in part: Samhitas of the Vedas: Rig Veda Samhita Taittiriya Samhita of the Yajur Veda Vajasaneyi Samhita of the Yajur Veda Sama Veda Samhita At...

Hi cute bro @Tobi Welcome.

2:48 PM
I'm not "cute"
HOW CAN YOU READ ALL OF THAT

Okay, Hi non cute bro @Tobi Welcome.

thank you

@Tobi I have a lot of time on my hands, and I have a great deal of interest in these things. With enough time and interest you can conquer the world.

why read
and not something better

@Tobi I read all these things because I have a great deal of intellectual curiosity and a desire to know the highest truth. And I don't just read Hindu texts that I believe in, I also read texts associated with sects of Hinduism I disagree with. And I read texts of other religions; I've read large parts of the Bible, the Quran, the Tao Te Ching, the works of Thomas Aquinas, the dialogues of Socrates, etc.
@Tobi As Sun Tzu said, "Know your enemy."

2:53 PM
do you believe the hindu gods are real

@Tobi what or who is God as per you?

@Tobi Yes, I do.

i athest
i brought up christian
but no see why ppl belev god

@Tobi Well, people believe in God for different reasons. Some people believe because that's what their parents taught them, others believe out of a deep sense of faith, and others believe because they've been convinced by rational argumentation.

the belief in god seems irrational

3:00 PM
@Tobi may i know where are you from, if you don't mind?

england

@Tobi What was the core belief that you remember being taught?

christian god
all mighty
etc
10 commandments etc
why do u believe in god, have u seen him?

@Tobi As in one god in three persons?

felt him/it**?
i cant remember im not religous

3:06 PM
@Tobi have you seen air? Do you think air doesn't exist?

@Tobi I see, What is your favorite area in physics?

i feel air
i dont like physics

@Tobi I see, let me try again, Do you believe in axiomatic logic?

define pls

@Tobi liking physics has nothing to do with Air. It exists and so, many atoms and molecules. Just because we can't see God, that doesn't mean we can say God doesn't exist.

3:08 PM
@TheDestroyer I think he was answering my question :)
@Tobi Do you know what an axiom is?
An axiom or postulate is a statement that is taken to be true, to serve as a premise or starting point for further reasoning and arguments. The word comes from the Greek axíōma (ἀξίωμα) 'that which is thought worthy or fit' or 'that which commends itself as evident.' The term has subtle differences in definition when used in the context of different fields of study. As defined in classic philosophy, an axiom is a statement that is so evident or well-established, that it is accepted without controversy or question. As used in modern logic, an axiom is simply a premise or starting point for reasoning...

no
Destroyer, how do you know its there
Because a book told you?
did you know of god before you learned about it

@Tobi Did you know that, say, a carrot is edible before you tried it? There's no taboo to transition from lack of knowledge to full of knowledge - i think that is actually the premise of the whole human enterprise biological and cultural.
an axiom if you will.

i saw the carrot
thats how I know it existed

@Tobi It is possible to give a rational argument to prove that the Vedas, the most important scriptures in Hinduism, are true. The argument is rather involved, but it is given in a Hindu work called the Purva Mimamsa Sutras.

that's not what i said.

3:12 PM
When did you first think god existed
i wouldn't have known it was edible
but i wouldve assumed
whats ur pointed
point*

@Tobi My point is you need a premise - set of axioms you believe to be true and self-evident at that. What are your premise? We can go forward from there.

ok
the earth is round
thats my axiom

@KeshavSrinivasan Is there a summary of the arguments that can be read somewhere?
@Tobi and what is your proposition? i.e., the statement you would like to derive using this axiom? Note that you said that is your only axiom, which means no other truth is self evident and everything else is up for grabs...

i was asking why you believe in god

@Tobi Have you heard of the term revelation?
@KeshavSrinivasan something like Udayana's list of arguments for the existence of god except it is espousing Purva Mimamsa Principles.

3:21 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan That sounds very interesting!
Wow! >10 users in this room.
I think I first time seen 11 figure here!

@LakshmiNarayanan Avan accounttuu abnormala irukku.. Mokka pasanga la irukku..purunjuda? My bad tamil :P :P

@TheDestroyer Avan kitta physics la rating iruku... athunaal thaan engage panran...
@TheDestroyer not bad at all :D

what do u mean revelation
thats not a valid answer
so did you wake up one day and say god exists?

@Tobi it's not an answer, it's start of a long, deep and at times harrowing conversation.
in Rational Thinkers, May 9 at 17:41, by anuvaramban
@sv. From my experience, I would define revelation as an epiphany that overwhelms any of our attempts to understand through the lens of reductive analysis or synthetic construction yet remains accessible through complete surrender to that experience.

so you woke up and said god exists

3:28 PM
@Tobi Nope I had repeated experiences that defied any attempts at accountability and what more the experiences were stronger when i didn't try to account for them. That incidentally is also how i landed on my definition of revelation.

what were these experiences

@Tobi Their content are not amenable to our attempts to pin words to them. You have had such an experience? Something that has left you stunningly speechless?

No
One time I fell on a roof
and a nearly reached the bottom
I was lucky
but shocked
but still lucky
was that god?

@Tobi Is there anyone you trust? Someone whose word you would take without question even if you don't understand?

you cant just take anything someone says without question
thats gullible

3:32 PM
@Tobi Not necessarily.

how does god help you

@Tobi There is no concept of utility here.

i dont understand it
what do you think of as god?
what does this god do?
how does it affect anyone/thing

@Tobi Do you trust anyone?

I think you might have many confusions which should be solved gradually.

3:39 PM
why do u ask if i trust anyone
`Essay in a nutshell
One who does not believe in himself or herself, is an atheist.`
that is propoganda

@Tobi why do you care?

i do not
have anyone*
i trust my family
if anyone

@Tobi what do you think about how do all the things (including us) exist?

@Tobi Ok, so is it right to say that "Tobi trusts his family" is a self-evident truth that requires no proof?

atoms
you could say that because i told you

3:43 PM
@Tobi why should i trust you? I will only accept it if you are willing to give it to me as one of your axioms.

(You can use reply button so that conversation can happen effectively)

@Pandya Atoms

@Tobi Do you believe that all mathematics has correspondence in physical reality then? This is a digression from our main conversation, feel free to ignore

I believe mathematics can be used a tool in real loife
life*

@Tobi Yes, i think so too but that's not what i asked.

3:46 PM
as a*
what are you asking

@Tobi Ok, so can i take as axiom that "Tobi trusts his family"?

Yes

@Tobi ok. Do you accept that we're not knowing many things currently?

@LakshmiNarayanan Not really. That's one of the reasons I'm considering writing the book Mimamsa Magic, because most modern readers aren't willing to take the effort to read Shabara's Bhashya on the Purva Mimamsa Sutras.

@Pandya yes

3:48 PM
@Tobi Does the number 1 exist?

it is a number
that doesnt make sense

@KeshavSrinivasan We are all waiting eagerly!

exist, as in what?

@Tobi you tell me.

the number 1 is a quantity
it makes no sense saying it exists

3:49 PM
@Pandya You can read the Shivadvaita Nirnaya here: archive.org/details/Sivadvaita.Nirnaya.by.Appayya.Diksita

does "u" exist?
the letter*
is this helping you answer my Question?

@Tobi which?

@Tobi ok. So what do you think will science ever be in position to know all the things to us?

@Pandya no

@Tobi This is why we have the reply button to help make contextual sense, please feel free to overuse it.

3:51 PM
@LakshmiNarayanan "What made you believe in god. did you just randomly wake up and say god exists?"

@Pandya But to understand the Shivadvaita Nirnaya you need to first read the Srikantha Bhashya, the Shaiva Siddhanta commentary on the Brahma Sutras: archive.org/details/TheVedantaSutrasWithSriKanthaBhashya Because the Shivadvaita Nirnaya is a work about the Srikantha Bhashya.

@Tobi I have had revelations for which i gave you my definition. These revelations are instrumental in my belief in God.

@Tobi Good! You're going on intelligently. So, don't you think that our knowledge that we do have by means of science or material things are limited and one need to focus on some other higher level tool to examine and know the things exactly are?

@LakshmiNarayanan By the way, I don't know whether you know this, but the Vedanta school rejects the Nyaya arguments for the existence of God such as those given by Udayana. See my question here:

That's like saying. i believe in god because I had an epithony--ambiguous. However, you obviously do not wish to elaborate

3:53 PM
4
Q: Has anyone responded to Ramanujacharya's refutation of the Cosmological Argument for the existence of God?

Keshav SrinivasanIn Western philosophy, one of the most common arguments for the existence of God is the cosmological argument, which states roughly that everything has a cause, and so the Universe must have a cause, namely God. (There's also a more sophisticated version of the cosmological argument developed by...

@KeshavSrinivasan Ooh Thanks! I wanted to know what SS thinks of all this Nyaya Business

@Pandya Is your argument that because science doesn't know everything, there must be a god?

@Tobi I'm bit busy, will talk later.

Cop out!!!!!!!
I want to believe, but have no reason to, especially after this talk

@Tobi I do wish to elaborate, but you have to engage my longwinded manner, sorry if that is taxing. Most regulars here would find it taxing too. However, i will engage you as long as you wish as far as I can :)
@Tobi How do you know it was ambiguous for me? Because words fail me in trying to describe it?

3:58 PM
can you describe one incident that enforced your belief in god
or one reason
i.e. How else was the earth made
or
How were humans made

@Tobi I can't, it is a summa of many experiences that i cannot pin any reasons to. That's why i used the term revelation. There's no royal road to Hinduism. Welcome to H.SE

or
since your revelation has your life changed

@Tobi Yes, it has given me the essence of searching for purpose.

purpose of life?

@Tobi I don't follow
please use reply button?

4:02 PM
...ce of searching for purpose.
it is only you and I, what's the point

@Tobi I see, it will help to recall later, doesn't hurt to humor the request.

@Tobi do you know about "consciousness"? In Hinduism, Supreme God is pure Consciousness (pure ever existing Blissful Consciousness) and Consciousness alone is source of all creation. Science is now struggling to understand Consciousness.

This is nonsense

@Tobi what is non sense?

consciousness is the result of connections in your brain

4:05 PM
Not Conscience. Consciousness.

@Tobi Ah good question. "So what is purpose if not the feeling of purpose" - Do you agree to this statement?

That makes no sense

@TheDestroyer Nee vidu, avan ketka maatan directaaa

To be honest.

@LakshmiNarayanan Seri :)

4:06 PM
For the purpose of direct marketing

@TheDestroyer animated bahubali 2?...

@Tobi reply button helps in places like this

@Tezz Animated TV series. Baahubali- Lost legends.

@TheDestroyer is it in youtube?...

@LakshmiNarayanan Consciousness is the result of connections in your brain, and nothing to do with a god.
When you die, do you believe you goto heaven?
reborn?

4:08 PM
@Tezz No. I will mail you links and video.

@Tobi we believe that those connections in brain are result of consciousness...

@Tobi I never made this statement, so let's continue our conversation!

@TheDestroyer Oh ok...

@Tobi FYI Reply button also send push notifications so it is useful to keep the conversation rolling as well.

@Tobi yeah that can also be one reasoning.

4:16 PM
@Tezz i mailed you. Reply there? Do you have hangouts?

@TheDestroyer I dont have hangouts..

@Tobi first of all what do you mean by God?

@TheDestroyer is there anyway to resume interrupted pdf downloads in mozilla ?..

@KeshavSrinivasan ok.

@Tezz I think it depends on site.

4:22 PM
@Tezz it is better to use a download manager if you want such functionalities.

@TheDestroyer for videos file I found one method ie. by copying .part files but for pdf I cant find such files...

@Tezz Have you heard of a Shaivite sect called Raseshvara? It's discussed in this excerpt from Vidyaranya's Sarva Darshana Sangraha: gdurl.com/x_ki Apparently they believed that you could use Mercury to make your body immortal, and you could thereby achieve Jivanmukti.

@Pandya use download manager inside browser or use seperate download manager?..
@KeshavSrinivasan Yeah I also heard that in sarva darshana sangraha...

@Tezz You can use Internet Download Manager for Windows. That's the best tool.

@Tezz separate, since download browser of browsers has limited features.
@TheDestroyer Trial version? :P

4:26 PM
@Pandya I crack every software. :P

@TheDestroyer isn't it illegal? :P

@TheDestroyer from above?...

@Tezz I will tell you in mail.

SS.
@TheDestroyer Lost legends is only for prime.

@Tezz I recommend Xtreme Download Manager for Windows.

4:28 PM
@TheDestroyer oh ok...
@Pandya Is it avaliable for free?...

@Pandya Damnn Windows and closed Source use OpenSource Instead, ugetdm.com

@TheDestroyer I'm an Amazon Prime member. Is Baahubali: the Lost Legends only available for Amazon Prime India or is it available worldwide?

@Tezz Yeah. Not only gratis (free as in freedom) but also free (as in freedom).

SS.
@KeshavSrinivasan I think worldwide. You could try.

@Yogi You should check the license of XDM once: it's GPL.

4:33 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan I don't know. But i get those episodes for free. :P :P

@Pandya Oh! LOL :O but anyway I don't use windows so no need to get my hands dirty in closed source.

@Pandya ok... first Im trying from links sent by destroyer..

@Yogi @TheDestroyer Btw, Now, GNU's Free Software Definition is available in Hindi! : Here
@Yogi Yeah, I also use uGet :)

@Pandya wow.. you have blog too..

@Pandya Btw, Android is open source. You might know.

4:37 PM
@Tezz That is only for experimental purpose. (You'll see only two articles)

@Pandya Great! You translated it, but don't you think its too small as compared to this github.com/sharang108/checkstyle/blob/master/LICENSE

Hey Good Night 🌛2 All of you guy's , TC 🙆 BYE , Have a nice 😴 , See You 👀, 🌷💐

@Yogi if you like and interested in open source, why don't use fully open source instead of non-free Ubuntu! :P

@TheDestroyer @Sreecharan I just checked by Amazon Prime Video app, and it only has Baahubali 1. It doesn't have Baahubali: the Lost Legends.
@TheDestroyer So can you send me Baahubali: the Lost Legends?

@KeshavSrinivasan ok.

SS.
4:41 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan Old habits.... :D

@Pandya non-free license? are you talking about this ubuntu.com/about/about-ubuntu/licensing instead of CopyLeft its CopyRight.
@KeshavSrinivasan What is Lost Ledgends

SS.
@KeshavSrinivasan I am SS.

@Yogi It's a Baahubali animated TV series made by Rajamouli.
@SS. Haha, I forgot for a moment about the username change.

@KeshavSrinivasan Did you receive my mail?

SS.
7 hours ago, by Rakesh Joshi
damn r u sree charan?

4:44 PM
For @Yogi 1.Open source, 2. Non free distro. For @TheDestroyer Android.
@Yogi further askubuntu.com/a/25774/256099 & my last question when I left Ubuntu!

@TheDestroyer Yeah, thanks for the links!

again
why do you believe in a god
very confusing to me
how does it help
what did he do for you
where is it
how did you discover it

@Tobi if we deny the existence of God, we lose the existence of ourselves.

that makes no sense
why??
I exist without believing in god

@TheDestroyer I'm probably not going to use the torrents. Instead I'd use the download links given under the torrent links. I have premium link generators that make downloading from such sites really fast.

4:59 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan ohh ok. That's good. :)
btw, check that site for tamil movies. They are the only one who provide movies after closing of kat.cr.

@Tobi you've not replied my earlier message.

@TheDestroyer There are a bunch of movie torrent sites besides kat.cr, and a bunch of non-torrent sites for Tamil movies that I'm familiar with.

@Tobi I think you should read some initial works of Swami Vivekananda to remove many of your confusions.

@KeshavSrinivasan Ok. Right now, this is the best site for Tamil and Telugu movies, though their videos are huge in size.

which message

5:11 PM
@TheDestroyer Oh ok. By the way, when dealing with torrents I don't use torrent clients like uTorrent. Instead I use sites that do cloud downloading of torrent files.

@KeshavSrinivasan Yeah. I used to do that. I know few good sites for that.
direct-torrents.com is good. Someone will already upload the file for us, if the file is new.

@KeshavSrinivasan Btw, Do you know other Acharyas believe in multiple Vedanta Philosophy?

@TheDestroyer Oh, I've never heard of direct-torrents.com. The sites I use are zbigz.com, bitport.io, and seedr.cc. Some of those sites even allow you to stream the video right on their site.

@KeshavSrinivasan Oh okay
@Pandya Oh Okay! Then which OS do you use?

@Pandya No, I don't. But by the way, technically Appayya Dikshitar didn't believe in multiple Vedantic philosophies. He unequivocally believed that Advaita was the correct Vedantic philosophy. But he argued that Srikantha Sivacharya, the Shaiva Siddhanta commentator on the Brahma Sutras, believed in Advaita as well, so he thought there was nothing wrong with being both a Shaiva Siddhantin and an Advaitin.

5:18 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan I used offcloud.com.. as it has 10 GB limit. When my drive exceeds storage, i use multcloud.com to move files to other drives.

@TheDestroyer Yeah, offcloud is another one I've used.

@KeshavSrinivasan I think Appayya Dikshitar strongly believed Adi Shankara as Kailasa Shankara.

@Yogi Trisquel GNU/Linux-Libre.

@TheDestroyer I don't know what Appaya Dikshitar's beliefs about Adi Shankaracharya were, but he did revere him as an Acharya.
@TheDestroyer By the way, another site I like for a somewhat related purpose is tubeoffline.com It allows you to download from almost any video site.

@KeshavSrinivasan oh! ok. Have you read scriptures of Shiva Sidhhanta? I don't know that philosophy.

5:23 PM
@Pandya I can't leave Ubuntu! :) It has richest Software Repository, mostly meeting Developer Standards.

@KeshavSrinivasan I use Allavsoft and 4k Video downloader software. Allavsoft allows us to download Udemy videos. It also allows us to download Hotstar.com videos.

@Pandya Yes, I've read many Shaiva Siddhanta works. They're listed near by the bottom of my Meta answer:

@Yogi ok. You may try Trisquel without leaving Ubuntu. You know how Trisquel is developed? It's nothing but uses packages of Ubuntu.

@TheDestroyer Oh, I've never heard of Udemy and Hotstar.com

@KeshavSrinivasan Udemy is site for Programmers and others to learn courses. Hotstar is entertainment site, especially TV serials like Mahadev are uploaded there.

5:27 PM
@TheDestroyer Oh ok

@KeshavSrinivasan oh! Yes, good.

@KeshavSrinivasan On Udemy, Foreigners upload trivial Yoga courses and make money.

@Pandya Okay so only the Ubuntu Kernel is ignored I thought Ubuntu uses Linux Kernel without any tweaks, in anycase how is Trisquel better than ubuntu if it uses same Pkg Manager, APT.

@Pandya I have an interest in Shaiva Siddhanta, because it's in some sense the Shaivite counterpart to Sri Vaishnavism. Just as the Sri Vaishnava sect is based on the Pancharatara Agamas and the poems of the Alwars, the Shaiva Siddhanta sect is based on the Shaiva Agamas and the poems of the Nayanars. And just like most Vishnu temples in Tamil Nadu are run by Sri Vaishnava priests, most Shiva temples in Tamil Nadu are run by Shaiva Siddhanta priests.

@KeshavSrinivasan If you are interested in Stock Markets, you can search courses on Udemy.

@Pandya ROFL its like Proxy Ubuntu :P

@TheDestroyer Haha, it's another sign that we're living in the Kali Yuga

@Yogi meanwhile you can go though Documentation to know about Trisquel :)

@KeshavSrinivasan haha. Even an Indian girl uploaded a course of Ganesha Mantra and made money. I even got free coupon for that course. But i didn't comment or rate it as one star.

@Pandya By the way, most Shaiva Siddhantins reject the Vedanta school. Only a tiny minority of the Shaiva Siddhanta sect, known as "Shrouta Shaiva Siddhanta", subscribes to the Vedanta school. Srikantha Sivacharya and Appaya Dikshitar belonged to that tiny Shrouta Shaiva Siddhanta minority.
@Pandya Most of the Shaiva Siddhanta works I listed in my Meta answer are written by Shaiva Siddhanta philosophers who rejected the Vedanta school.

5:35 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan So, Shiva Siddhanta is popular Shaiviate Sampradaya like Sri is popular Vaishnava.

@Pandya Btw Good to know that you are on the Revisions list trisquel.info/en/users/pandya

@Pandya Haha yeah

@KeshavSrinivasan oh! Do they (who reject Vedanta) also reject Vedas?

@Pandya There are Shaivites who reject the Vedas, but no, Shaiva Siddhantins believe in the Vedas. They just think the Brahma Sutras misinterpret the Upanishads.

@Pandya Have you experienced any Stability issues with this Distro?

5:39 PM
@Pandya The Vedanta school believes that Brahman is both the efficient cause and the material cause of the Universe, but the vast majority of Shaiva Siddhantins disagree with that. Pretty much only Shrouta Shaiva Siddhantins agree that Brahman is both the efficient cause and the material cause of the Universe.

@Yogi Have you watched most popular speech of RMS?
@Yogi No.

@Pandya There's also an large Shaiva Siddhanta organization called the Saiva Siddhanta Church, which publishes the popular magazine Hinduism Today. They believe that Brahman is both the efficient cause and the material cause of the Universe, but they still reject the Vedanta school for other reasons.

@KeshavSrinivasan oh! ok

@Pandya RMS?

@Yogi Richard M. Stallman. Btw, have you heard GNU or FSF before?
@KeshavSrinivasan That looks weird

5:44 PM
@Pandya Yeah I am acquainted with GNU and FSF give me your email Id and I will show you my OS Contributions(although negligible).

SS.
@Yogi I think it is there in his profile description.

@Yogi ok. It's available on multiple profile page of Hinduism.SE

@SS. Okay Thanks Sree :D Just to remind myself :P
@Pandya you don't even use GMail? OPnemail

@Yogi Haha! I found openmailbox.org from resources it's good. I use Gmail also though.
@KeshavSrinivasan so, Shivadvaita formed from philosophers of Shiva Siddhanta?

@Pandya Haha yeah, they use the word "church", but that's just how they chose to translate the word Mandir into English.

5:55 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan Even i was bit shocked on seeing word "church".

@Pandya Yes, Shivadvaita is the Vedantic philosophy of those Shaiva Siddhantins who subscribe to the Vedanta school, i.e. the Shrouta Shaiva Siddhantins. Shivadvaita comes from Shiva + Advaita. Like I said it's very close to the Sri Vaishnava philosophy of Visistadvaita, except with Vishnu replaced by Shiva.
