Not sure why it needs quotes there, but in seriosity. You're going from the perspective of handling the frustration directly by seeking a late-term solution that reduces the difficulty.
Comparatively, I have the kind of mindset that, if I'm presented a puzzle and I am fully capable of solving it at the moment I am introduced to it, then I will seek to do that at this stage rather than after I acquire tools that are found later but make the task easier.
@Retrosaur There's a fair difference between puzzle challenge that is quite designed to be able to be accomplished at the time but which things can be easier, and a simple task that can be made difficult by itself. For example, I don't particularly seek to do Buster-only runs in a Megaman game.
Though I will challenge myself to do what may sometimes be considered the "harder" stage as the first stage, if I both think that the weapon it yields is worth it for my speed timing, and if I am particularly feeling that I should start that path.
@fbueckert augh, Kylie Chan is so good at only telling you half of things. Like now I want to know who Da Shi Yeh really is because he is not entirely evil demon....augh. So many questions!
@Powerlord I don't think badp was implying that you were the only one. He was just saying that he's also not the only one who discusses games being played. Personally, I feel the hostility toward him for doing so is a bit unnecessary.
I was looking for a video card and visited the passmark benchmarks page, now what puzzles me is that starting from top video cards to lowest in terms of passmark score you don't go decreasing in the price:
for instance a Radeon HD 7850 is only 180$ and scores 3,640 on passmark, while a Quadro 600...
So, I was playing Super Mario 3D Land the other day. I'm sorely disappointed that the racoon leaf no longer lets you fly, at least not as far as I can tell.
I've already reached the level that connects to the Key Vault level, but when I try to go up, it won't let me go through. In other levels, there are these keys, but they are transparent and thus you cannot get it.
How do these keys and key vaults work?
I recently noticed an achievement in Runner2 called "Double Perfectionist". The text says I need to:
Get two Double Perfects in Each World
Problem is, I have no idea what a Double Perfect is, let alone how to get one.
What is a Double Perfect, and how do I get one?
In a recent game, a Terran player dropped some widow mines behind my mineral line. It took me a minute to realize what had happened, and then it took some time to get enough energy to scan for the mines so I could kill them. In the meantime, the mines picked off a number of my workers.
What's th...
On the Binding of Isaac, I am trying to do a challenge run, but items won't select. Some items will, along with invincible, max money/bombs/keys, dmg, ect. ect. Is this a problem on my end or is it a glitch with the software.
In Star Wars: The Old Republic, doing quests up to six levels below yours yields a chunk of experience points (XP). Across the SW:TOR forums, people say to maximize experience, do orange level quests (quests at a higher level than you). But, because of experience devaluation, does this actually a...
I recently tried TrackMania 2, via the Stadium open beta, and having picked a multiplayer server at random (well, with low ping and space) I was presented with the following screen. The edges of my view crowded with boxes full of data that I have no interest in, visual noise to me, with a sprinkl...
My little cousin is asking for Pokemon Black and White for the 3DS... I can find Black and I can find White but I can't find Black and White as a single game. Did I misunderstand?
Is there a Pokemon Black and White game for the 3DS?
And it seems like you'd need to keep all sorts of baggage around in memory to track where you are in the file in order for it to be useful. I think I'll just use Valve's KeyValues parser instead.
Oh, it's because the SourceMod KeyValues parser is a complete implementation, while the SMC commands are just low level hooks that you're expected to write a parser around. :(
Because I SO wanted to carry global values around when parsing things. And a stack with all the section names that I can pop values off when we go back up.
No, wait, I need to actually read the values even when I'm not removing items.
(Gee, I wonder why no one ever uses the SMC format for SourceMod)
@fbueckert Bought the last two Journey to Wudang books today. Also, apparently there is a new book of hers coming out in Australia in April/May, so we should hopefully get it soon after. Hopefully.
@AshleyNunn Eh? I thought that one was Small Shen; about Gold.
user15026
Small Shen, the graphic novel doesn't (it is just about Gold), but Dark Serpent (The book coming out in April) does - it is the start of the final trilogy
user15026
Small Shen has been out for a while, but it is Australia only
