Does playing game when it's windowed increase performance? Decrease it? Does the same also hold true to fullscreen mode? I've always thought that playing on Fullscreen meant a higher fps boost, but I never confirmed this. Is there a difference between the two, and if so, what are they?

But, really, in a general case, there's a reason why there are performance differences observed between full screen and windowed, and that is the answer to the question. I don't think we need to narrow it down to each person's make and model and mostly point out that "Sometimes it ain't the case, but when it is the case, this is why".

@GraceNote just seems like a poor question tbh, the general premise isn't bad but "it depends" isn't a good answer, and filling it with PC specs will still make the answer "what game?", and putting the game in makes it too localised

each of the additions can be reordered so the sentence ends with "PC specs" instead of "game" being the tipping point of too localised if it makes my statement easier to understand

I'd break it down to the game level before I got to the hardware level, since again, it's usually an expectation on the game as to what effect it would have.

@kalina Background applications are irrelevant to the question, since they are running regardless of how you run the game. Hardware is not required to answer the question.

And in which case, you can simply address it on either the global level, or on the game level, and then point out that certain hardware differences may have a different impact, but there is an underlying mechanic or principle that either causes an actual effect, or causes the perception of an inactual effect.

@BenBrocka Not at all. The closest thing to "locked in" is that you do need to craft the weapons/armors yourself. So if half-way through the game you suddenly decide "jeez, I sure would like to play with a Hammer!" you may need to go farming for crafting materials (which you get by killing giant ass monsters)>

@BenBrocka: Something you probably didn't get from the demo is that depending on where you hit the monster, you'll do different damage. hitting something in the head usually does more damage than the legs, for example. Different Monsters are also weak to different elements.

But it's not hibernate. The speed of the hard disk shouldn't affect it.

I guess the Ouyas are shipping next month? Anyone getting one of those things?

Well, I choose normal, which is suppose to be for first time ARPG players, like me. So far I don't really feel like the combat is really any challenging.

Inventory management seems to be the hardest part of the game

I don't remember TL specifically but at least in TL2 you have to spend points in different attributes to improve either

However, items will eventually start requiring some of each stat, so some random allocation of stat points isn't a terrible idea at the start

In TL2 it was infuriating to see items with intelligence minimums when my guy had absolutely no gains from intelligence
