@Unionhawk m_maxRxChunkSize is on the order of 2000, so this little piece of code is allocating 2kB of memory at the start, but then only freeing a single byte.

delete vs delete[] is one of the many things about C++ that makes me wonder why.

It doesn't run very often, but often enough that it could cause a problem in the long run.

@Unionhawk I wish I was using a GC language. I'd love to learn Go and use that for one of our applications in particular, as I think the concurrency and channel paradigms would work well for it.

Yeah our projects have like 400 or so warnings last I checked

Now, on another project I was on, we had automated reporting tools, and were incentivized to get our warning count down to 0, and that's a lot easier to do on code you've just written where there weren't any warnings before.

We could theoretically get warnings to 0 pretty fast, spin up a quick project then turn on settings to make warnings error

Also, on just the Linux apps, there are 375 warnings... from a partial build.

But that entire endeavor would be largely considered high risk low reward by the business
