@badp Oddly, I think the only time that how long it takes you to get somewhere matters is in that very first mission.
The first thing I leveled up in that game was hacking. Then I robbed all my coworkers at Sarif blind. And then I got emails about how someone was breaking into offices, and could I please look into it? Good times.
You can also wait until 3 am to pick the locks, as the room is empty at that time. It's especially helpful to do this if you are leveling lockpicking by breaking picks.
I'm interested in any answer, but I'm particularly curious if there is a limit on how often you can it for a given store. For the Food store's it is normally hard to keep them stocked, and if I can only get "Fully Stocked" say once an hour per store, than I wouldn't work as hard to keep those s...
I use the daily elixir and the Playa's potion which gives a 1.5 exp gain and I can only level up twice everyday. Will getting to Mt. Fang be at all helpful?
In BrowserQuest, the achievements list includes 2 that are denoted only as ??? / ???
I've already defeated the 'final boss' and completed all of the other achievements (Ignore the 16/20 there, the 2 I'm missing amount to 'get hit a lot of times').
What are these last two medals, and how do I...
Yup - a search for 'browser quest achievements' have both questions up as the first two results for me. Maybe it's just Google's 'customization', but, hmmm...
I've obtained all the achievements on BrowserQuest.
Is the game over now or is there any form of "end game" and extra stuff to do?
What do I do now? Get back to work?
I have a XBOX 360 gamepad now I want to use it as PS3 gamepad because I want to make it the most compatible with the game Shin Sangoku Musou 6 Moushouden (dynasty warriors 7) on PC. Is there any emulator software can do this ?
Let's me make this more clear : I am trying to find a PS3 controller ...
@StrixVaria I'm referring more to the fact that people like to abuse flags on him, simply because he's really bad at saying things which look flag worthy without context.
Valve's new game DotA 2 is a sequel to the popular Warcraft 3 map of the same name which is nearing release. The game follows the same paradigm of a similar game, League of Legends which was inspired from the original DotA map.
Both games follow the same idea of leveling of a character, gaining...
@ArdaXi No, no it doesn't. Replace 'a lot' with 'many' if that makes it easier to parse, but 'a lot' implies no particular proportion, only a notable quantity.
@FAE Except they're not.. the discussion ended 7 months ago. The questions should be closed. If people want to re-open them, fine we can discuss that. but the current policy is they should be closed.
I disagree with banning these wholesale. I don't disagree that we can close some of these as "Not A Real Question", citing Raven's answer.
Consider a very close kin to these kinds of questions - version differences. Which has its own tag, even. But both of them operate on the same intent - they...
The question which was deleted by marktraps initial post still hasn't been undeleted which, if we're saying those questions are on-topic, shoudl be allowed back on.
@Wipqozn This is the problem with meta. Posting a question and getting an answer with like 5 upvotes, then marking it as accepted, means "this is policy" to some people and means "inconclusive" to others
Then we can come along and say something new 4 months later and half the people think it's up for discussion, and the other half think it's already closed for debate
@Sterno My stance is that the simply fact we've deleted one question because of this means we need to enforce this rule for all fo them, or undelete the other one.
that's moreso what I'm saying. WE already were enforcing this. So either enforce it all the way, or undo the closures / deletions done for it in the first place.
@Wipqozn I believe Grace's point here is that the blanket policy shouldn't be "delete ALL the things" but rather "be discerning in our acceptance of them and weed out the bad"
@Wipqozn I can agree some consistency would be nice. But we were already being inconsistent... there are an awful lot of others ones open. This one just has a lot of attention because of the contest
My smell test is the same as it's always been for scope: If I'm aware of the scope of the answer (which is not the same as knowing the answer), would I be willing to take the time to write the whole thing up, or would I consider it too much goddamned work?
It requires some judgment and maybe appears inconsistent, but I think there's a big difference between "Gorilla vs Shark" and "LoL vs DOTA2". That's a lot more like "Gorilla vs Monkey". If they were asking about the difference between Super Mario Brothers and Half-Life, then yeah, close it

I played a lot to League of Legends (>1000 hours) and I am going to try DotA now. Speaking about gameplay only, it would be really helpful for a newbie knowing what are the main differences between Defense of the Ancients (DotA) and League of Legends (LoL)?
@StrixVaria It's like we assume that people will be willfully ignorant about the difference, and post such inane questions in the first place. I don't like it when we take steps to ban entire categories of decent questions so that we can safely ban the few cases that probably never happen, and even if they do almost everyone will agree they should be closed anyway
@Wipqozn RE the bonus on that I think he's just planning to give the bounty to the existing question and taking advantage of the bounty because he might as well
We go to an awful lot of work just to be able to justify to some new user who doesn't know anything about the site the reason we closed their shitty question.
@Foxtrot Note that it will decay if it there isn't a 2nd question tagged with it within a certain amount of time, which is... can someone remind me? How many months?
@OrigamiRobot google juice matters much more for views than internal views, I doubt a bounty will matter unless it drives someone to share the post or gets it in the Hot Questions list
@Foxtrot Incidentally, if you're asking in order to add a genre tag to the question, the general policy here is that genre tags are acceptable for asking questions about the genre, not to just classify certain games as such.
@Foxtrot If you tag a question with a newly created tag, in order for the tag to "stick," there needs to be a 2nd question tagged with it within 6 months.
@OrigamiRobot Crapy or not I wouldn't consider it cheating personally, so I wouldn't remove the bounty unless I thought it really should be closed, as a mod. I don't really have a strong opinion and I'm not a mod here though
@Wipqozn I think this is an important point. Scope isn't the issue here, given my own personal standard and the fact that we have a fairly complete and cohesive answer:
> Rather than have us need to know which games are similar enough to which other games to warrant a comparison being meaningful, the asker should tell us why these games are similar enough that the comparison is helpful to the internet
And I think in this case, the answer is that there's a strong competitive scene currently in the process of choosing between these two games, and more to the point, as a spectator, or a player, the games are quite similar, and knowing how your experience with one will translate in the other is really helpful.
DOTA vs. LoL is not "What's the difference between basketball and baseball", it's much more akin to "What's the difference between ice hockey and street hockey"
@Foxtrot I'm not sure. Do you have any titles as an example? I've probably played flash games where you do that, but I've never really seen them classified in a single genre I don't think...
I mean, at the end of the day, it's pretty obvious when a question is useful versus being outright stupid. We don't need to make new rules in order to close outright stupid questions, and end up getting good ones caught up in those rules. We can just close them as Not Constructive or NARQ and move the fuck on.
lol @YiJiang I am not looking to apply a genre tag / type tag to my question I want to post. I am just curious to what genre or type of a game someone would classify it as.
@FAE Jetpack for iOS (i want to post a few questions about this one here, but that sprung the idea of what kind a classification someone would give it), there is a very popular helicopter game (flash) which the cave gets smaller with walls appearing in it (all green with a black background) but i don't know the title of that one.
As a lurker/new user it seems like the actual rules for what questions are allowed to be asked are esoteric and arcane and are enforced either arbitrarily or with no feedback to the person asking the question. I believe this is detrimental to the site as a whole.
ID this game questions, compari...
@LessPop_MoreFizz Meh - the question is terrible. Meta questions should: 1. Be asked in a way that actually allows the discussion to come to a meaningful conclusion, 2. Give evidence to support the alleged problem
@LessPopMoreFizz The original wording plus comments came off a lot more like a rant than "I want to help the site". I think the downvotes are understandable.
@LessPop_MoreFizz Also, remember the whole "voting on Meta is different thing". I downvoted partly because I disagree with his premises and/or conclusion, and partly because it's a rant
