@fredley Was just talking to a coworker about how my 4 year old daughter was talking to me about something that happened at daycare that made me realize they do lockdown drills there (like there is a gunman in the building) and the coworker responded with "Thank the Trump Fear Factory"
Which made no sense, and still makes no sense, but at least now I know what he'd just been watching
pretty awful pre-bedtime conversation with your kid when she's telling you about how her teachers pretended to be bad guys and the kids had to be as quiet as they could and you realize halfway through what she's really talking about
I doubt they actually ever said anything about guns
I remember doing lockdown drills in high school. I suspect I would have done it younger, except that it wasn't really a thing until I was in high school

@Sterno yeah, I'm sure it is, but man, I can see it making a lot of kids really freaked out
> To highlight the effect that being indoors, and especially below ground can make, despite the lethal open air radiation, blast and thermal zone extending well past her position at Hiroshima,[32] Akiko Takakura survived the effects of the 16 kt atomic bomb at a distance of 300 meters from ground zero, sustaining only minor injuries, due in greatest part to her position in the lobby of the Bank of Japan, a reinforced concrete building, at the time of the nuclear explosion
> and to highlight the protection conferred to an individual who is below ground during a nuclear air burst, Eizo Nomura survived the same blast at Hiroshima at a distance of 170 meters from ground zero.[46] Nomura, who was in the basement of what is now known as the rest house, also a reinforced concrete building,[46] lived into his early 80s.
> The advice to cover one's exposed skin with anything that can cast a shadow, like the picnic blanket and newspaper used by the family in the film, may seem absurd at first when one considers the capabilities of a nuclear weapon, but even the thinnest of barriers such as cloth or plant leaves would reduce the severity of burns on the skin from the thermal radiation
@murgatroid99 Look, when you try to analyze a good joke, you cannot appreciate it's humor. Just accept it for what it is, laugh ah it, star it, and move on.
I'm making more weapons in minecraft with command blocks. I have been able to create a bow with explosive arrows, but I can't figure out how to make it so you can shoot multiple arrows and then click with an item in your hand to explode the arrows. This would be like launching c4 with a bow. Than...
@Dragonrage when I hear my voice on a recording it just sounds so alien. I'm like nope that's not me you are full of lies. (which my phone keeps wanting to autocorrect to pies, which is a different sentiment entirely)

I logged in this morning to my Pokemon GO account, and all of my progress has been reset to zero, and I had to completely restart the game.
What gives?
Is there a way to customize Minecraft controls? For example, I'm trying to use the shift + click in creative to place itens on side of hoopers, furnances, etc.. But at the same time the player goes down, since I'm flying.
I tried looking in the in game settings but there is nothing about this co...
