Q: What does "Squelch" mean?

Fredy31I have an option to Squelch or unsquelch the other player. What does it mean/what does it do?

@LessPop_MoreFizz Here, have some of my hate, too.

Neat, new profile design.
Am I the only one who thinks that profile pic looks like he's body slamming that kid? :P

@Lazers Easy.

@Frank I don't like how you can't see much of the about bits

@Frank That's awful.

@AshleyNunn Not sure if I like it, either. Just thought the new design looked neat.

Q: The profile page is getting a makeover

Jeremy TThe Big Idea Create a page on the network that summarizes who I am as a developer, and lets me show off the stuff I am most proud of. @AshleyNunn That's where I got the picture from. :P
Mostly posting because I think that profile pic is all sorts of funny misleading.

@Frank She's talking to someone you're ignoring, thank you very much.
@AshleyNunn I get the reasoning. I don't like the result.
It's awfully cluttered.

user15026
@FEichinger Yeah I am right there with you. I wasn't trying to argue that. It is very much info overload.

user15026
Just wasn't sure if you had seen the post, so I figured I would pop it in :)

Everything got big and organized confusingly.
Plus stuff seems missing.

12:12 AM
It feels too much like it's trying to be Careers.SO ... without being Careers.SO.
Which is kinda the point, but ... it just doesn't fit with SE as a whole.

user15026
@FEichinger Yeah, that was my thought too - I assumed incorrectly at first that it was a Careers thing

user15026
It doesn't really match anything else. It seems kinda weird.

@Unionhawk This is not a surprising exception, all things considered.

I DON'T HAVE ANY REAL DEBT FOR YOU GUYS TO COLLECT STOP CALLING MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

user15026
@Unionhawk I had them call me once over a library book.

12:16 AM
@Unionhawk <Fog horn> You've been selected for a chance to win an all expenses paid Caribbean Cruise!

@Braiam Only by a day!
@MBraedley Those get an instant block.

@MBraedley I hate this one!

@MBraedley No, I looked the number up. They claim to be a debt collection agency, but have failed to leave a message. Just call me repeatedly hoping I pick up a call from an 877 number.

@Unionhawk I still have some debt collectors trying to collect on a three year old phone bill I refuse to acknowledge.

Q: /summon ItemFrame relatively

user1494396I was trying to make some sort of color display in Minecraft. I decided it might be nice to use colored armor in ItemFrames as the pixels. I have this working command: /summon ItemFrame ~ ~ ~1 {Direction:0,TileX:362,TileY:56,TileZ:-653,Item:{id:minecraft:leather_chestplate,tag:{display:{color:...

12:18 AM
I had a dispute with Rogers. They didn't take it well.

@Frank Huh, I actually managed to get them to retract the $500 bill they sent me once. Mind you it was their crappy service and screw up that resulted in said $500 bill

@MBraedley I finished my three year contract, and I demanded they unlock my phone.
They refused to do so, so I told them to cancel my service. They didn't, and gave me thirty days before they actually did.

I'm just trying to think of what the hell debt is associated with me, and the only thing I can come up with is my student loans, but my mom handles those for now (something about you need to have someone with a stable income cosign, or whatever), and I'm still in school.
So the government loans aren't kicking in yet at all. (not that they're substantial)

What number are they calling you on, as in did someone have it before you? That's a problem I had where a debt collection agency was calling me looking for someone else

@AshleyNunn I like how there's all sorts of SE staff going "What is this? Just ... no .. This is bad. Change that."

user15026
12:24 AM
@FEichinger That did amuse me greatly.

@MBraedley I still get automated calls for someone that I have no idea who they are.
It's never a live person, it's always, "Please call this number and quote this number. This is for <person I've never heard of>"

@Frank Occasionally we would get phone calls like that.

I figure those get about two pickups before I say screw it and add them to the block list.

"This is an automated message for all concerned parents. Do -click"
Ahh this is so great. It's like a recap of Sword Art Online. :)

@MichaelFrank Watching the movie?

12:30 AM
@Frank Yep
It's on youtube, super handy for work >.>

@MichaelFrank It's got some new moments in it.
And the second season starts in July.

@Frank Yea, I'm excited about that.

Reading the light novels, Gun Gale Online will be pretty awesome.
Hopefully they use the novel for a whole season, instead of just half of a season.

You mean your name isn't "badp"? — psubsee2003 9 hours ago

I really don't like what I'm looking at here. It feels awfully cluttered (as has been noted above), and way too focused on being some sort of résumé for the user (and by that I don't mean a summary, I genuinely mean it looks like it should be a friggin Careers page). The lack of functionality from the current profile (sorting the various lists, bounties, reputation history, votes cast, heck even age seems to be missing) is also rather disappointing. There's a lot about the profile that could be done better, but this seems to ... LinkedIn+Facebook-ish in execution. — FEichinger 24 secs ago

Chroma Squad should (hopefully) have a beta in about a month or so.
If that goes through Steam, you have access to that as well, @AshleyNunn.

@DavidM Salivations? We now drool when you come around? :P

@GnomeSlice If I get pinged for something and I'm unaware of it, it'd probably be useful for you to provide a link to the incident.

@Frank Or perhaps I am drooling

@DavidM Or that. In which case, you should really eat something instead of sitting here.

Project Chariot was a 1958 US Atomic Energy Commission proposal to construct an artificial harbor at Cape Thompson on the North Slope of the U.S. state of Alaska by burying and detonating a string of nuclear devices. History The project originated as part of Operation Plowshare, a research project to find peaceful uses for nuclear explosives. The plan was championed by Edward Teller, who traveled throughout the state touting the harbor as an important economic development for America's newest state. Alaskan political leaders, newspaper editors, the state university's president, even c...
What in the actual fuck?

@AshleyNunn I'm not sure if that's a typo or if you're just mocking me.

1:14 AM
The AEC was going to try to use atomic bombs to dig a harbor. And, then realizing it was BS, they decided they were going to use it to measure the effect of radiation on the indigenous populations in Alaska.

@DavidM Thats a little bit of jumping around in the info in that article... but what I love is that they could never find any record as to what the harbor would even do, it had no strategic value of any measured worth

Wait...did you change it back already? I'm so confused. Opening it up shows your old one.
I blame @GnomeSlice.

@Wipqozn I did. And then did again. And then did again. And then did again. And then did again.

Well, you know what they say about people who change things.

@James Yeah, I was watching some show and it was talking about it. I scrambled to find an article to share it.

@Wipqozn I achieved Level 4 or 5 on the Trapp scale, I think.

@DavidM I loved the further reading recommendation: Fusion Science and Wishful Thinking :D

@DavidM Yeah except that is a great book :D

@Yuki I understand. It's more of a . . . WTF situation about the real purpose.
@LessPop_MoreFizz It sounds 6 types of awesome.

Also, if you thought Orion was crazy, you should take a look at Medusa.
You basically have a parachute ahead of you, toss nukes in the direction of where you want to go, and detonate them.
> A Medusa spacecraft would deploy a large sail ahead of it, attached by cables, and then launch nuclear explosives forward to detonate between itself and its sail. The sail would be accelerated by the impulse, and the spacecraft would follow.

> London Fog is a medium bodied English Brown Ale with notable herbal aromatics, including a light citrus spice and a touch of mint. All of these aromatics originate from the addition of Earl Gray tea. Pleasing fruity flavors of peach and raspberry result from the interesting union of malt sweetness and bold tea. Further additions of vanilla and milk sugar provide a rich creaminess that coats the palate nicely.
yes, that's an English Brown Ale with EARL GRAY added.

@LessPop_MoreFizz ...no thanks. D:

Why? Because somebody there felt like it.
