how'd they manage to do that?

They've taken a game that has a short list of levels, a grindy star system and an even grandier gate system

Q: A specific way of getting neutral narration endings?

There are 12 endings - 3 different narrations for each of the 4 choices... What exactly changes this? Killing enemies? How many do you need to kill to get the neutral ending? What about "innocents"? Notable NPCs? How do the quests factor into this (saving people, defusing the bomb near the star...

...and took all the grind out of it, replacing it with a completely linear, restricted experience that is finite, incomplete and uninteresting, and as soon as you fail one of the previously optional bonus objectives you are thrown back to the start menu

making it a boring single-solution shitfest with uninteresting bosses.

@badp The gates are still okay, replay a couple of the challenges and you're through. Stars are at least guaranteed if you complete the challenge. The keys on the other hand...

@PrivatePansy I resorted to playing the 30 missions once, being confused at the lack of a 4th world, then check daily for the yetis and pinata parties for keys

Also, the moment I realized it was a terrible game was when it dropped several notifications into my notification bar telling me that there was an in-game event happening right now

I uninstalled it shortly after that

@PrivatePansy meh, it actually reminded me once of a Pinata party that I would've missed otherwise. Yeti and Pinata parties were the most effective ways to get keys.

I'd grabbed almost all of the necessary keys before this update

oh; I think this upgrade also removed completely your ability to get the upgrades that were behind gates, like +25 sun at the start

oh; no it didn't.

oh wow, now you get +75 sun and double flowers guaranteed at the start of world 2.

Those two and turbo mode break the game, but in a way I felt like I earned my sun overflow.

Now they're just given to you.

I guess it doesn't matter because of the mandatory bonus challenge objective bullshit.

There are much better time wasters on Android. Kingdom Rush from the last Android Humble Bundle is pretty good

If you disconnect/get kicked do you still get points for the round? The flaky nature of some of the servers is annoying; I rack up kills and points - but are they saved if the server crashes or I get kicked for idle?

To the average person visiting Arqade, they don't know about the rep game, or that an answer has downvotes because it came in later and said the same thing.

Then again, I guess it can be voted to be deleted by 20kers if it goes negative

@MBraedley Well, most likely they'll try and mangle it in there somehow, probably inspired by some of KMP's behaviour.

But no implementation details are public yet, I believe.

@FEichinger Well, that's disappointing.

Kethane is a great start to resources, but there definitely needs to be more to it.

Majiir is getting back to work on Kethane and a modding team now wants to implement a better Resource API.
